this sunday. i'm gia vang and i'm bigad shaban. tomorrow, president-elect trump will officially begin his second term in office after he was sworn in as the nation's 47th president. the inauguration will be historic and cold. definitely. let's take a live look at the capitol tonight, local time there, just about 8:00, and it is 32 degrees. the inauguration festivities kicked off yestetery with members of the trump family and trump allies taking part in events around the nation's capital. there is a lot happening in d.c. tonight. president elect trump wrapped up a victory rally about an hour ago. but let's start here in the bay area. our kristie smith is in san francisco, where people who oppose mr. trump's agenda are pushing back, kristie, with a demonstration and march. what are you seeing? well, they just returned from where they started when they took off for their march. and this is where they started earlier this afternoon across from city hall for that demonstration with a message of fighting back and resistance

ahead of the inauguration. noho. on the eve of president elect donald trump's inauguration, people in san francisco marched from civic center plaza with a message. it really is not just about trump the individual, but he represents a broader trend in american society where billionaires want to make more money at the expense of all the rest of us and everyone else who is affected by that or oppressed by that, is coming together to fight back. before they marched, people gathered at the plaza for a demonstration. organizers say community groups, anti-war groups, immigrant rights groups, unions and others comg together part of a day of action with other cities in the u.s. trump has threatened to have mass deportations on day one, and we're taking those threats really seriously. there's also an extremely right wing agenda laid out in project 2025 that includes attacks on the labor movement, on women's rights, on workers rights, on immigrants, and so are so many others. and that's exactly actually the
5:03 pm
reason that so many sectors of society are coming together to fight back. they joined forces, many today with free palestine signs and messages, but some carried signs for reproductive and trans rights and climate. along with those organized groups, there were individuals who wanted to be with others. as trump prepares to take office again, the priorities of people like trump and all the people who are going to be in the front row at the inauguration are not the people's priorities at all, period. there are so many concerns when it comes to the emboldening of racism and emboldening of toxic masculinity and bullying and the wealth gap that is being created right now. organizers say their actions are not just for one day. they plan to keep the pressure on. and again, organizers did stress today that this was a politically independent movement, and they are planning

lingering around san jose, but we did break out of the clouds around san francisco. now, first up tonight as the skies clear, we do have a frost advisory that will go into effect for the santa clara valley, san jose, into morgan hill, the tri-valley interior portions of the east bay and the north bay valleys. but above those wind sheltered valleys up there in the north bay. this is the area tonight that will experience an increase in those gusty offshore winds. elevations above 1000 to 2000ft could have wind gusts over 50mph by tomorrow morning. and notice these wind gusts speeds even across some of the lower elevations. by noon tomorrow will be in the 20 to 30 mile per hour range, so dry and breezy around the bay area. but unfortunately for southern california, we're going to see the renewal of red flag warnings and high wind warnings back down towards los angeles. we'll have a closer look at that and when we might see some shower chances returning to the 7-day forecast. a closer look coming up in about ten minutes. all right rob, thanks. millions of tiktok users

can use it again after the app went dark last night. the popular video platform service shut down in response to a federal ban put in place because of national security concerns. the feds demanded tiktok divest from its chinese parent company or face fines unless it sells it to a u.s. company. today, tiktok posted a statement on x saying its decision to return comes after president elect trump provided assurances that its service providers will not face any penalties. my friend opened the app and she was like, oh my gosh, we can go on again. so i think everyone, including myself, is really excited and we hope it stays. i was kind of shocked and had a lot of like different notices that it's back on for now and they're working onon restori it, which is a little confusing that it happened so soon after they got rid of it, but really happy it's back. mr. trump had previously said he supported the ban, but now he says he will most likely give tiktok a 90 day extension with one of his executive orders after he takes office tomorrow. it has been nearly two weeks now
