chilly saturday morning. we want to thank you so much for starting your weekend with us. i'm kira klapper cinthia pimentel h has a quick look at r microclimate forecast. jason good morning. good morning everyone. well we saw those clouds return. no more of those golden sunrises. look at dublin this morning. we are looking at those clouds streaming in as that low has dropped into the state. so you notice here that it's taking that counterclockwise turn. it will wrap itself around here and bring us some of those rain chances that we've been talking about leading up to today. it will be really spotty, so don't cancel your plans just yet. windy at times too, especially up there for the north bay interior mountains. after we push that out, we're going to be settling in with some really cold air. we have a freeze watch going into effect starting tomorrow and possibly carrying on into tuesday, so lots to talk about on a pretty active weekend. i'll be back with that coming up in about 15 minutes. all right cynthia, thanks new this morning for additional israeli hostages have been

light dusti of snow for the upper peaks here in the santa clara hills. as we go on and track that activity. still continuing with us. one more push there of rain here as we go on into tomorrow morning, and then pretty much out of here, except we're going to keep a chance of maybe seeing some isolated thunderstorms for the central coast, as that starts to push on through into southern california, where we see those returns of rain much higher for them. we'll also be waiting to hear if we have any localized debris flow. for us, it just looks like trace amounts as we push through this system today and tomorrow. after we're done with the rain, we are in for the freeze watch. notice those lows coming down into the 30s, possibly some isolated upper 20s there. as we get the workweek started, that will go until about tuesday the second half of the week. we do clear up there for wednesday, but then into thursday night, friday, i'm looking at another chance of rain that could come into the picture. san francisco and along the peninsula. i know we're getting ready for lunar new year. grab that jacket though,

7:48 am
here at sonoma raceway. we've got the track all to ourselves just hours before they open it up to the p public. because anye can take their own car and drive on the tracks here to tell us all about it is courtney kaiser. she's the director of the sonoma chapter of speedway children's charities. courtney, this is a really fun experience for a lot of people. it is, and it's one of the only times that we're able to open the track to anyone who just wants to come out and drive their car, experience the racetrack in a safe, comfortable, but also really, really fun environment. speaking of safer, just making sure these turns are safe here, but people have a lot of fun. how fast do cars go? the regular cars go or regular drivers? not professional drivers. yeah. so all of the cars today are going to follow our pace cars, which are driven by our incredible driving instructing team here at the raceway. and it really
7:49 am
depends on road conditions today. they're going to be great. but and also how comfortable everybody is driving. obviously safety is our main priority, but everybody always leaves with a smile on their face. definitely a smile on your face because this is something that you can't do every day. and this is all going to a good cause to talk to us about who benefits from this. so all the proceeds from today go towards local children and families in need here in sonoma county. we work with over 40 amazing nonprofits here locally that are able to receive the funds via grants that we distribute at the end of the year. so it makes a huge difference in the lives of these these children and these families. what better way to do that and have some fun on the weekend? so the track is open from 930 until three. you guys are taking walk ups, right? we are. although we do recommend checking the website to make sure we have space available,
7:50 am
but definitely come out. and if we have space, we'd love to get you on track. all right. thank you so much, courtney. oh, that was a oh, that's a yeah. getting a little too comfortable. i had to break kira. this is. this has been a blast. all morning, i've gone from 25 miles an hour to now. almost 40. okay, so watch. watch me just gun it on this. i'm just kidding. all right, now keeping it safe. kira. i know you do. we'll leave you with that beautiful view. oh, thanks. thanks so much, ginger. good to see you. and by the way, her three children are not in the car for that drive. this lunar new year marks the year of the snake. as we've been saying. and tonight, the san jose sharks are joining in on the celebration. our today in the bay team got a sneak peek this week. and that is the rising phoenix dragon and

lion dance troupe. they will be performing tonight at the sap center as part of the sharks lunar new year celebrations. the sharks logo has even been switched up a bit to honor the holiday done by san jose based artist eric bui. the sharks take on the florida panthers tonight at seven for the lunar new year. we are working with an artist named eric bui, and eric created a logo that kind of resembles what his artwork is all about. kind of gives it a west coast vibe with a lot of playful colors. you'll see that he created a lunar new year version of the sharks crest, and so he took the sharks teal. he took the traditional lunar new year colors of red and gold and incorporated them into into that logo. our laura garcia got to take part in the ceremonial painting of the lion before it took the stage. and as mentioned, the sharks take on the florida panthers tonight at seven. allill receive a

commemorative beanie with that special sharks logo done by local artist eric bui. and janelle wang will be on the sharks ice for part of the celebration. now to steph curry, definitely feeling the love. not only did he find out that his jersey is the league's biggest seller, he's been voted by the fans to the western conference starting lineup at next month's nba all star game, the one in san francisco at chase center. and yesterday, he took a quick break to go on social media and thank his fans. this is an amazing honor and definitely appreciative of everyone who voted and got me in the starting lineup, because it's obviously 100% of the fans vote that makes that possible. so something i don't take for granted. it's a huge honor. he's the best. this will be steph's 10th time making the starting lineup. he'll be the first warrior in more than 50 years to play an all star game in front of a bay area crowd. and did you hear a
