will basically hold steady throughout the day. a cold front comes in tomorrow. we only see a change of a few degrees, but really start to feel cooler mornings ahead for the rest of the week, and we will go back into a flood watch in effect for the bay area starting this afternoon. continuing into wednesday morning. that's when we will see this next wave of rain coming back and also causing some problems with the potential of rising creeks, rivers and streams. as we take a look at storm ranger right now, it is fairly light with the rain that we are seeing, but you can access this at any point if you have the. nbc bay area app, and you can zoom in and get an hour by hour forecast. but let's take a look right now where we are expecting the rain to pick up, as in the north bay by the early afternoon. and then notice that as we go into this evening, it's spreading across the bay area and at times we will see some pockets of heavy rain early tomorrow morning, the south bay, where we haven't seen as much of that rain, will get the heaviest rainfall early tomorrow morning,

and then we see this whole system sweeping through by tomorrow evening and giving us a break on wednesday. so between today and tomorrow, we could see rainfall totals reach between one and a half to over two inches of rainfall. all of this much needed rain and much needed snow for the sierra. as we go throughout the week, there could be as much as 23in of snsnow for south lake tahoe and 48in of snow for kingvale, so it's going to be pretty busy here as we go through the week. but notice how this weekend things settle down, it quiets down, dries out, and we'll go back to the sunshine. so we're going to get all of this very active weather between now and thursday. and then the weekend is looking very nice. and mike you're updating the crash in san jose. yeah looking better here. as far as the traffic flow goes. the crash just past tully road did clear the left three lanes without any updates to the injuries. so minor injuries reported there was in the back of a disabled

6:48 am
along with senator wiener. let's take you back to november 2023, when much of this started. that is when london breed and then supervisor hillary ronen implemented a street vending moratorium along mission street to target the sale of illegal goods or fencing. however, permitted vendors who followed city rules were also negatively impacted. now, the city tried to work with the community to set up temporary market spaces and offer emergency relief funds for vendors, and also offer other support services. the moratorium was extended in february of last year to august of 2024. the city said data showed improvements were made in the neighborhood. now, in june of last year, sb 925 was announced it tried to address fencing by creating requirements and imposing criminal penalties. now, the bill would have allowed san francisco to require vendors to obtain a permit to be able to
6:49 am
sell goods that are deemed frequently stolen. the city then would be able to ask vendors for proof that those goods were obtained legitimately. those in violation would get an infraction for the first two offenses, and if there were to be a third offense, that could escalate to a misdemeanor and up to six months in county jail. sb 925 did not make it past a committee. it did pass in the senate, however, but again, didn't make that didn't get that support to get through committee. so this morning, mayor lurie will make his key legislative proposal on how he plans to attack fencing in the city. he'll be joined by supervisors as well as state senator scott wiener as well. we'll be there and we'll bring you the latest at midday. we're live in san francisco, ginger conejero saab. today in the bay. thank you. ginger. well, also in san francisco tomorrow, the board of supervisors will vote for the first time on declaring a state of emergency for the city's fentanyl epidemic. new san francisco mayor daniel laurie proposed the ordinance, which would streamline the rollout of resources to battle
