seeing some pockets of heavy rain and some parts of the east bay from san ramon down to dublin, as well as livermore, and then also some off and on rain for the south bay. as we go into the afternoon it will continue to dry out. we're dry tomorrow as well, but then we'll be watching a few of those pop up showers possible on sunday, starting in the morning for the north bay, and it will be very hit or miss. not all of us will see the rain, but there will be that chance this weekend. so we'll talk more about our weekend forecast, temperatures and what you can expect coming up in a few minutes. thanks so much, kari. well, this morning, two people are safe after becoming trapped on an island in san jose. this happened in the middle of the guadalupe river near autumn and coleman avenue yesterday. firefighters managed to pull the pair to safety, along with two dogs and four puppies. san jose mayor matt mahan posted on social media his gratitude for first responders for that rescue. now, over the past 24 hours, we have seen flooding in parts of the bay area, including in the north bay. take a look at this scene

chewbacca in may, baby. all right, well, outside of the train, there's the rain. yeah, at least for now. the good thing is that it's not going to be with us the entire weekend. but we had so much rain. take a look at some of the rainfall totals we've had over the past few days. and san rafael getting over three inches, and there were some widespreadainfall totals of about 2 to 3in across the bay area. the winner, uvas canyon, it was over eight inches of rainfall and all of that has to go somewhere. so we are going to see still a lot of the flooding issues that we've seen from the past few days continue. but as the showers clear, it's going to be cool and we're watching the coastline for dangerous surf. and then on sunday, there's going to be some spotty light showers moving in. but once again, this big storm system that we've had to deal with from the past few days is starting to wind down. but we're just getting the last little bit of that rain moving through parts of the east bay. it's mainly over the hills, but we're
