you're working on this holiday. we'll talk about what to expect, as well as a look at weather coming up in a few minutes. well good morning. very happy monday to you. it's a holiday so the stock markets are closed. technically they're closed for washington's birthday. that is what federal law named it. so that's why the new york stock exchange calls it that. you've heard the white house wants everyone to say gaugh of america. so by that token, it's not presidents day today. the white house also says it's likely to grant doge access to taxpayer records, what the irs calls the integrated data retrieval system. doge says it's looking for fraud and inaccuracies. the white house also says it plans to meet with the federal reserve on a regular basis. so the president's opinion about the economy can be expressed. central bank is supposed to be an independent body making decisions outside the political sphere, the head of trump's economic council told

going to feel more like spring by the end of the week. and temperatures warming up warmer than we've seen in quite a while. and as you're heading out this morning, you may step out and say, okay, it's not as cold. we're in the mid 40s for palo alto. upper 40s for walnut creek, and in san jose, 47 degrees. so looking at what to expect today, if you have the holiday off and you want to find a new spot to enjoy, how about half moon bay? just enjoying some time out in nature and walking along the coastline. it's going to be in the upper 50s, so a cool day and only some peeks of sunshine, so make sure you're layered up. we're also going to be fairly mild for this time of year, as we take a look at our highs up to 60 degrees in napa and oakland, 62 in hayward and san jose will see a high of 60 degrees. a little bit warmer tomorrow, more sunshine and some of us making it into the mid 60s. we'll see that in the south county, as well as the south bay and up to about 64, in martinez,
6:21 am
as well as livermore and 62 in napa tomorrow afternoon on wednesday we will see some more clouds and a slight chance of rain in the north bay, but most of the rest of the bay area will kind of miss out on any wet weather. so here's a look at our hour by hour forecast. once again, dry today and tomorrow. but then take a look at this quick round of rain that's moving through between 9 to 10:00 on wednesday morning, moving into san francisco as well as parts of the east bay. but this system really just falls apart before it makes it into the south bay. so we're looking a parts of the bay area, seeing some very brief showers moving through. after that, we're going to be warming up. we talked about it feeling a little bit more like spring. and in brentwood we go from highs and low to mid 60s to 70 for the weekend. so what are you planning to do? you can already start on this monday morning to make plans, as we are going to have some really nice weather coming our way, although we could use a little bit of rain in the south bay and the east bay. we are going to be all dry
6:22 am
throughout the week, and that one chance of rain we get is where we don't really need it in the north bay, as we are going to go throughout the middle of the week. also for san francisco, that chance of rain on wednesday. other than that, the week is dry and we'll see a lot of sunshine and highs in the mid 60s by the weekend. heading out on the roads this morning. that's a live look at the golden gate bridge. we can even just count the cars right now. just a few people coming across. but definitely a pretty good volume coming through the tri-valley on 580. we've seen some fog drifting around this camera, just watching out for that. in some of those low lying areas. the bay bridge is looking good. they haven't even turned on the metering lights at the bay bridge toll plaza, and you can see why there really isn't a lot of cards out there. and in fremont, as we take a look at 880, well, it looks pretty good there as well. looking all around the bay area, no icons on the map here, just green sensors, which shows that everybody is driving safely, at

leading the effort to slash the federal budget and thousands of jobs in the process. today, in the bay's bob redell is live outside a tesla dealership in dublin, where protesters gathered over the weekend. good morning to you, bob. what do we expect today? more protests in san francisco, oakland and san jose over the weekend. hundreds of people, they gathered outside tesla dealerships like this one here behind me in dublin. this happened nationwide. this is to express their anger at tesla ceo elon musk and his efforts to cut federal spending, spending and to cut federal agencies. as you can see in this video, there were a small number of people who protested outside this dealership here in dublin. and then there were others at tesla showrooms throughout the country. again, to try to get people to stop them from buying musk's electric vehicles, to try to send them a message on the peninsula. a number of people held signs and stood on the sidewalk outside the tesla dealership in palo alto. president trump has appointed

musk that lead the department of government efficiency, also known as doge, to cut what he and musk says is wasteful spending by the federal government. many people questioned musk's true intentions. they have criticized doge's lack of transparency, and they believe musk has access and continues to access the private, personal and financial information of american citizens. we're concerned about the coup, the ongoing administrative coup by the executive branch. that's president trump and elon musk coordinating together, basically to seize the entire financial power unconstitutionally and illegally away from congress. we've seen the reaction in europe. and, you know the behavior here. it's going to follow. it's a matter of time. that was a professor at san jose state who specializes in tech, who believes musk's involvement with doge will hurt tesla car sales here in the united states.
6:35 am
according to the california new dealers association, tesla sales dropped 11.6% in q4 of last year compared to the year before, and tesla's sales in europe have declined sharply. we did reach out to tesla for comment, but have not yet received a response. so three more protests are planned later this afternoon outside tesla dealerships, again in san francisco, oakland and san jose. many are also calling for a nationwide protest titled not my president's day. reporting live here in dublin. bob redell today in the bay. all right. good information. thanks so much, bob. now, the immigration institute of the bay area wants to make sure that you know your rights if you're detained or even questioned by ice officers. so the qr code there on your screen is going to take you to their red card, which you can print out. there are many of them available. they're available in eight different languages, including tagalog, korean and farsi. i'll talk about a slam dunk. basketball fans had plenty to soak up all weekend for the all
