there were five children in total that lived at the house, and their mother was at work when it happened late saturday night. he said the 3-year-old had special needs as well as another 4-year-old child in the home, but the boy's grandfather is remembering the toddler as a little boy that loved trucks. >> princeton was the kind of child that could light up a room. he honestly could, and i know you hear that will all the time. ne anything to anybody, but just be a little 3-year-old kid. >> reporter: we were also told that a search warrant was executed at the home today but why and what they found is still unclear, and steve, right now the teen suspect is sitting in the jail facing a few charge, including second-degree murder. >> just a heart breaking case. thank you. we know he was a youth pastor with access to kids, and even went on overnight trims as

job, but tonight he's locked up accused of videoing an underage girl in a changing room in buckeye, and now the church season responding to the disgusting allegations. joe bartels is live. >> reporter: the church is taking swifting. they called an all congregation meeting last night, prepping parents for news that broke that one of their own, the youth pastor here was arrested after what was found on his phone. for thousands of valley kids, back to here, and saturday it was a violating experience for one mom and her daughter. >> >. i was walking toward the fighting room, and that's when i seen this ma'am pretty much like bending down near the, like right underneath the fitting room door. >> reporter: the mom of the 14- year-old victim says she saw the 31-year-old chris santos with a phone in his hand shooting video of her half naked daughter in the changing

the phone away and had the cops called. >> i was disgusting. we're still pretty shaken up about it. i keep replaying everything in my mind. >> reporter: and another slap in the face. santos is a youth pastor at a church in buckeye. >> it's a shock to all of us. um, and in every were possible way, so. >> reporter: he taught kids aging 13 to 17, and even went on overnight trips in the past. >> we're going to seek justice, and we want to extend a lot of grates and show the love of -- grace and show the love of jesus. >> reporter: he's banned from church grounds pending the outcome of the criminal investigation. and the church said no previous allegations were made against

7-11 employees shaken up by the violence that went on inside overnight. an armed man went in and demanded money from two clerks. >> then moved the two clerks to the back of the store and made them lay down. >> reporter: one clerk got away unhurt. another shot and killed. >> if it was the guy i know, he was a very nice guy. really quiet. go to work in the morning, he'd be out here cleaning up or something. >> reporter: around noon the usual. it was anything but. customers say it was quiet inside. >> it was sad. the owner pulled me aside and told me. >> i went up to get my drink and forgot ice because i was so upset. >> reporter: this customer says

new at of, abc 15 -- at 6:00, abc 15's melissa blasius is in the news room where she's been tracking down the details of story. >> yes, we're tracking down the details with our source, and we have confirmed through the department of the child safety that 40 children were removed from a group of group home, all homes operated by power house youth facility. the ceo of the agency spoke to me by phone just minutes ago. he said a reported an incident of child on child sex abuse in a home housing young children. at that point dcs didn't remove the alleged perpetrator or victim from the home, so his employees took extra precautions. he says now he's upset that all of the kids have been removed. >> the way they handled this was not about the kids.

rushed to judgment and it caused more trauma to the kids that we're taking caring of and trying to protect. >> and dcs officials say they can't say much more about this because it's an on going investigation on their point, and wouldn't specify the type of investigation, and also said all 40 of the kids are now in appropriate placements. breaking news from the abc 15 live desk. the phoenix fire department and crews on the scene of what's being called a confined space rescue carefree highway. what we know to have happened out there is that three people fell down 20 feet into some sort of under ground storage area, and they have lost consciousness. this is an area without much oxygen. two people are out and are in critical condition. we have a crew on the way and we'll bring you the latest as it comes in. we knew dcs was involved

and new information on the security guard shot on the job. he works for valley-wide security in chandler, and they just released a statement about the guard. he saw someone using a flashlight to look through the windows of locked cars near 59th and bethany home. when he confronted him, he got aggressive and shot the guard, and his bullet proof vest saved him. they released a statement. >> and that's not all they have on their mind. the valley company believes someone knows something about the shooter who's still on the run tonight, and they asked anyone with tips to come forward, and so far all we know

live coverage starts at 4:00 right here only abc 15. it's a hot evening here in the valley. here's the phoenix children's hospital cam, and at least from this view not a cloud in the sky as well, and right now abc 15 desert doppler is showing a quiet picture across much of the valley and southeast arizona. we have showers and thunderstorms kicking up heavier pockets and rain in the higher terrain. these are marching to the east, so in the crossing the state line into new mexico. t, and then -- new mexico, ask. then the chance to -- and then the chance to see more later tonight is slim. we have some moisture in place across eastern portions of state, and the greens in the color scheme are ready and loafed to move in -- loaded to move in. we have tropical moisture as well as the monsoon moisture. right here in tropical storm javier, and it's riding the

get pulled into the monsoon flow. there's still though a lot of uncertainty as to how much moisture we'll get. if he stays offshore it will be stronger and more moist. if it goes on shore it's going to weaken, and that could leave us with less moisture in the forecast. now, at this point we have left it at a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms overnight tuesday into wednesday, and this is the key time frame to see the heaviest rain. we have a flash flood watch starting at 5:00 p.m. the overnight hours all day wednesday, and then expiring into wednesday night at 11:00 p.m., but that's the key time frame, overnight wednesday, and into thursday. so that could impact travel. check the wiper blades, and tire inflation, and allow extra drive time wednesday. we're also going to see a break from the triple digits as the storm chances increase and the

from the live desk, witnesses capture an alleged cell phone thief on camera. witnesses snapped the photos of guy, and police say he took a phone from the store, and stuffed it in his pants and ran into the titan truck. but he's tied to several other cases in the area, stealing $1,200 worth of phones already. there's witnesses describe him as a white man with thin build, dark hair and a goatee. delta's dilemma affecting a lot of travelers in the us, but is it really fixed tonight? and what police are saying about a former marine accused of killing his mom and her fiancie. and so many had hope for

we want to update you on the breaking news, three workers in critical condition after falling 20 feet down into an underground water storage area near 3rd and carefree highway. the phoenix fire department is out there, they're saying the men lost consciousness after being in the area where there was no oxygen. one man was pumping water at the facility and fell into th underground storage area, and then the two men trying to rescue him also fell in. so all were rushed to the hospital we're working our sources out there, and we'll have more information throughout the half hour. meantime a valley clerk killed on the job, and tonight there's a man hunt for this person who dared to fire the dead lid shots at the -- deadly shoots. the gunman wearing a mask ordered two clerks at a 7-11 to the back of the store, and you

pictures. one clerk with hands in the air. one clerk was shot and killed. we don't publicly know his name, but he was in his 30s. silent witness will take any tips to help solve this, they're offering a $1,000 reward, and the number to call is on your screen. the first day of school has come and gone for a missing buckeye boy. >> teachers at bradley academy in buckeye were hoping 10-year- old jesse wilson would be found my now. >> maryellen resendez where the search for jesse wilson now stands. >> reporter: school administrators were trying to keep the first day of school for students as normal as possible. for the first time since jesse wilson has been missing, they chose not to interview, but outside the school's entrance still sits the reminder that jesse wilson is missing. a yellow desk signifying their hopes for his return. >> it was really fun though,

mother and her fiancie. brandon southernland is accused of killing them both. his mother was trying to sell their home and wanted brandon to move out. we're not clear if that's the motive, but it's definitely a lead. and we found found out that southerland has ptsd. >. and dave biscobing has learned there's another batch of cases in a case that's gaining national attention. >> reporter: we learned the group filed another 144 lawsuits bringing their were grand total to 1,250. the group is called advocates for individuals with disabilities, and they're suing over parking lot.

a massive rescue and investigation underway right now out of north phoenix. three men were rescued after falling into an underground storage area near 3rd avenue and carefree highway. you're looking at the live pictures right now. we know the men were out there pumping water at the facility and felt in and lost consciousness. one person fell first, the other two in an attempt to rescue fell after. now you see all of this

that means they had to shut down part of this area, so 3rd avenue is closed from carefree highway to galvin street due to the police activity. give them some space as the investigation is just beginning. for the second time in less than a week police investigating the death of another female jogger. the first in new york, now in massachusetts. the 27-year-old woman disappeared while jogging saturday afternoon. she was visiting her mother, but lives in new york where she works f she was found by a police k9 unit after a half mile from her mother's home. and the 10-year-old boy who died while riding the world's tallest water slide in kansas city over the weekend died from a neck injury. the raft drops twice reaching speeds of 70 miles per hour. in early tests rafts carrying sandbags flew off the slide. a small taste of freedom.

into the 90s by 10:00, 100 at 2:00, so not quite as hot as today, but more humid, and storm chances kick in around 5:00 p.m. at 10 percent, and then we increase them into the evening at 30 percent, and into the overnight forecast up to 40, 50, even 60 percent into 3:00 and 4 tim in the morning in the overnight forecast. then we leave the 60 percent chance through the day wednesday, and still looking at healthy storms wednesday overnight into thursday as well. there's still a lot of uncertainty as to how much rain we will get, but generally less than a half inch of rain, but if we happen to pull in more monsoon moisture and an increase in the tropical moisture we could see more, so we'll keep you posted and update you as need be. in the meantime it's a dry
