the officer is expected to be okay. the driver is now facing dui charges after police found empty beer conditions in his -- cans in his car. and a wild ride for high school students headed to school after a car pulled out in front of a bus and it hit it. everyone was okay. and a disabled woman is dead and her killer still on the street after a deadly accident overnight. jason is live there, and someone walking their dog when all of this happened help give police a good description of the driver they're looking for. >> reporter: that's right, the witness told us the person that killed this woman was driving either a red or a blue f-150 ford style pick up. now according to police the woman was in her wheelchair in the bike lane which is right along 48th street here. so very close to the high speed

to get back on the sidewalk when the pick up came from behind and hit her trying to get back up on the sidewalk. police say a woman walking her dog saw everything and helped police with the pick up description, and she gets credit for running out into the street and stouthing traffic to -- stopping traffic to keep other drivers from hitting the woman. the victim was in her 60s, and died shortly after getting to the hospital. they're not making an identification because they're still members to notify them about the death. neighbors say another pedestrian was hit along here a few months ago, and it's a high foot traffic area. >> dangerous little spot. definitely, i myself, you know try not to watch too much up here. -- speed too much up here. there's a school up the road. keep it slow, but just seems like it's not happening right now.

breaking now from the live desk. police in san diego county are recommending charges against eight members of paradise valley football team. they were at a football camp out there, and 18 players in total accused of being involved, but luckily no serious injuries, but it's now up to the juvenile district attorney's office to make a forward with the charges. new information just in on a trio of alleged criminals accused of running an illegal gambling operation, all busted last week at the gold house and poker union in north phoenix, accused of receiving a percentage to continue to play in tournaments. state officials have been looking into the places for almost a year. the hunt for his killer is still on, gut a bit of good --

to check on him she says 90 minutes after putting him down for a nap, immediately started cpr, and as always the cause of death is under investigation. just in, some new information tonight following the tragic death of a the 22 month old baby girl in phoenix. we got the police records showing over a four-month period from january to april of this year police got 132 calls for service to the home of adeline russell. 55 times they responded. the little girl died backs in april af after investigators found meth in her system. her mother is facing murder charges. dps was also called to the home six times, the most recent time two months before the girl's death. and we're waiting on decisions from the court on two major initiatives that could be on the november ballot. legalizing marijuana and raising minimum wage. both at the center of legal

barriers and fences around pools are to provide different layers of prevention to keep children away from pools, but nothing makes up for adult supervision. so far this year 35 people drowned in maricopa county, 10 of them were kids. >> every sad story we hear when it comes to drowning were the parents i didn't know. i didn't know how fast they could get out the door or get to the pool. >> reporter: the drowning prevention coalition of arizona reminding parents it doesn't take much for children drown, and it's not always in the most obvious place. >> i mean it's buckets in your backyard, it's a little kid pool, it's bathtubs, it's toilets. >> reporter: arizona law requires pools 18 inches and deeper and 18 feet wide to have barriers, but cities can have their own ordinances. >> >. the doors that lead to the pool need to have either alarming devices or some sort of self-closing and latching mechanism or some sort of cover for the pool.

north of valley and mean even as close as wickenburg tomorrow afternoon, and there's a chance of a little something come into some of the outlying areas of valley, including the far northwest valley as this model shows for the heat of the day tomorrow. there's a 10 percent chance in the forecast, it's going to be very slight in the valley, but it's not zero. 86 at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow. by 10:00 the upper 90s, the rest of the day in digits, and our ozone high pollution advisory extended once again. that's in effect tomorrow too. mesa hits 107 tomorrow. tempe and scottsdale at 108, and in the west valley 109 in avondale and goodyear. lows for us mostly in the 80s. up to the north 50s in flagstaff and show low overnight and highs in the spots tomorrow in the 80s. but from the valley to the west it's going to be scorching again tomorrow. we will see a little bit of relief day by day, we'll drop the temperatures a degree or two by the end of the week, and

ar >> reporter: this is a very disturbing story, especially for parents who use the day care centers. that employee worked right here at the lifetime fitness location in north phoenix, but a lawsuit reveals it's not the only location that's gotten in trouble. victim's attorneys claim dhs found several violations at the gyms in gilbert, tempe and goodyear for incomplete staff application, and lacking fingerprint clearance cards for the staff to work around children. attorneys claim the man did not have the clearance around kids last year when he took a video of a little girl change not guilty a stall. it was uploaded to child porn websites. he's pled guilty to some of the charges. he's due back in court next month for his sentencing. katie connor. >> and this incident did happen last year. the gym released a statement, and said in accordance with our
