we were hoping it wasn't true, but breaking tonight, a 3- year-old girl rushed to the hospital after getting hit by a car. >> and not just any car, but a police cruiser near 75th and camelback. >> >. navideh forghani was first on the scene, and the little girl was tragically just trying to get some ice cream. >> reporter: yeah, it's

especially with the hot temperatures, they hear testimony music, rush -- the music, rush out, and don't lock both directions -- look both directions, and you can see the truck just behind me. we found out in the last 10 minutes that the 3-year-old little girl just finished getting her ice cream, then ran in front of the ice cream truck and then the patrol car. she was initially hit by the patrol car, then the car that female officer jumped out of the car trying to help her as soon as she could, trying to comfort her. i'm told she was actually in the area responding to an animal call and she just finished that call, and so she was just leaving the neighborhood when it happened. we actually talked to the neighbor who called police out to the scene for that animal call, and he says he just can't help but blame himself.

said a prayer right away. i don't even know who it is. but i'm praying. after this happened, you know, it happened, maybe she's going to be okay, but she ran to the ice cream truck, it was an accident, you know. it wasn't her fault. >> reporter: this kid is definitely fighting for her life right now. she's breathing but is in extremely critical condition right now. she will be in surgery for the next few hours, won't have any updates until abc 15 morning, but so many people are praying for her and the officer as well. it's a 35-year-old female officer with phoenix police department, an eight-year veteran, absolutely devastated about the accident. she has crisis response support helping her through this as well. officers are going to be talking to her to find out exactly how it unfolded, but the biggest message tonight is

hands when the ice cream truck goes through. the mother was nearby but not right next to her daughter when it happened, so again sop important for parent -- so important for parents tonight. hold your kids hands and make sure you're watching them. >> thank you. what would you do if someone came at awe with a hammer? one man's decision tonight is why you see all the flashing lights in tempe. he says he was cleaning offices when approached by a man with a hammer so you can see that view here, the hammer laying on the ground testimony worker says -- the worker says he fired in self- defense. the man with the hammer died at the hospital. and a family having to find a new place to stay after a fire at their apartment. no word on what sparked it, but everyone made it out safely. and jesse wilson missing

got an avondale police report that goads into details -- goes into details from 2011 about child abuse surrounding his adoptive mother. she was not charged, but people claimed she wasn't giving the kids enough food, and when police showed up they found two 4-year-old boys tied to their beds. at that time cops decide nod further action, no follow up. mom said it was because the boys were getting out at night. that's the same thing she's >. it's happened again, somebody turning tables and selling counterfeit tickets hoping to scam adele fans at a sold out show downtown. jon erickson is live at talking stick arena, and this isn't exactly water under the bridge here, we saw this months ago at another concert. >> reporter: that was beiber in glendale, and this one it's adele, thousands of excited fans, looks like the show is

we went on craigslist today and set up an undercover by. >> you can see it's real. >> reporter: no idea if the ticket was $100 was real until we heard yes, it was real. went to a hardworking abc 15 web staffer. if only marissa had found our seller instead of whoever sold her these. >> like i said if you need the money more, or just greedy? just makes you >> reporter: marissa says she bought the tickets from a man named david ramirez. we tried to call him back after she couldn't get in, but he didn't pick up. >> unbelievable, but happens all too often, and it's not always easy to know if the ticket is real or fake, so we're taking action tonight with a five-step checklist. make sure the font is the same across the whole ticket, look for spelling errors, if there's a website link check to see if it's legitimate, and on ticket

he's resting at the -- better. he's resting at the hospital tonight. the last time we saw coach was today at noon at the press conference. you wouldn't notice anything was wrong with him in the video when we talked to him at noon. we know when he got to the stadium he wasn't feeling well, felt pain in his stomach. got paramedics, and took him to the hospital along with the team physician. they ran tests, and we know the team physician was back at the end of practice and the team, and according to what the players told us it could have been an infection or a stomach pain coming from a diet. we caught up with larry and tyrann after practice. >> just heard about him just now, um, yeah. >> reporter: is he okay? >> yeah, he'll be fine. we got the toughest coach in the business. >> we heard he's doing better. some discomfort, so always

declaring a state of emergency to get resources. and mcso says it's a bb gun a man aimed at deputies at his apache junction home earlier today. deputies eventually shooting 53- year-old larry curtley, jr. who later passed away. he was wanted for range of things including drugs and weapons charges. what will happen to the home team? questions swirling ahead of tomorrow's meeting with maricopa county will talk about selling off the diamondbacks have been at odds with the county in a very public battle over who needs to pay up for renovation costs. now the board of supervisors will vote on the potential of a private buyer. the diamondbacks say they reached out to investors at one point, but that's all they're saying for now. we do know the price tag is somewhere around 60 million dollars. it's a situation no family should have to go through. two kids losing their dad, a

additional half an inch to an inch of rain. and an active monsoon day for parts of state, and an isolated shower making its way through parts of north valley. now mainly on the east side of i-17. you can see the time lapse over the last hour. between thunderbird and the loop 1101, but moving farther to the east right now. farther to the north, a few spotty showers on their way to dwindling out near i-17. more activity and southeast of wickenburg where we're seeing the heaviest pockets and a few showers near tonopah as well. down across southeast arizona near tucson, big thunderstorms firing up there. 100 lightning strikes and the threat for gusty winds and flooding. the flood advisory now in effect for the area of pima county until midnight tonight. here's what happens tomorrow. stormsfire up once again in the higher terrain, and the late morning and early afternoon. there is a chance some could work down into the valley.

it's 10 percent tomorrow, and we'll start to see temperatures drop toward the end of the week. today though, 111 was the high. it marked the 30th day so far this year at 110 or hotter. still in third place overall, but closer to the all time record in 2011 of 33 days, and we have about a month where 1110 plus days -- 110 plus days are possible here. right now 95. the dewpoint in the mid-50s. temperatures across the valley in the 90s everhe and across the state going up to the north. 77 in sedona right now, and 60 in flagstaff. tonight, lows in the 50s along the rim. low 70s in globe and safford, and from the valley to the west mid-80s in the forecast. lake havasu and bullhead city back at 110 for tomorrow, but phoenix will drop a couple of degrees, down to 108. highs of 107 in gilbert, tempe, and chandler. 106 in mesa tomorrow.
