11:49 am
of several disturbances moving across today into tomorrow and a boost of monsoon moisture so you see a little bit more humidity as the day goes on, and that will combined to get the storms going. so far we just had a few showers in parts of the valley and still seeing that sun peeking through partly cloudy skies. showers are tracking a little earlier billy -- that we were trekking earlier have started to die down. we have storm southwest of wittman -- the storm southwest of wittman fizzling out now as it moves across the 60 you notice the showers that were going through parts of glendale and sin city are also starting to diminish but still light rainfall from sun city up to the loop 303 heading up toward lake pleasant and moving to the northeast. i'm watching areas to our south as we see storms firing up in southern maricopa county over that higher terrain. this will be an area to watch as these storms could continue to track northeast and we know storms
11:50 am
potential to bring us dust so we will have to watch these over the next few hours as the dust threat is there and we have more storms to our south just south of tucson so things will get active down there and as a result we could end up with dust in our area and eventually storms also as the storms pushed to the north. in the high country it hasn't been so active as of yet but you can see we still have light showers moving to the northeast and storms firing up right around the flagstaff area so storms like this to fire up over the next few hours along the mogollon rim. we also have an area of thunderstorms and areas along the rim and the way chances -- white mountains have chances as we go to the afternoon. valley storm chances are sticking around through the afternoon into tonight and even into tomorrow, at least a slight chance of storms especially once we get daytime heating. we could -- we will be watching
11:51 am
storm chances going up as we head into later this afternoon and evening. the chance for storms even through the 10:00 hour and as we head into tonight. again not looking like we will see widespread rain moving through but scattered pop up storms are a possibility and they could produce pockets of heavy rain and strong winds, enough to keep an eye on the radar through that mobile app. storms will continue to develop across the higher terrain. we will be watching that into early tonight a few showers into tomorrow afternoon and then the storms get going again along the rim. a few of those come close to clipping by the valley so we will have to watch that tomorrow. and as we head into sunday we get drier air in here that will drop the storm chances out of the forecast for the phoenix metro starting sunday and into monday. so the most accurate forecast today, the 20% chance for storms and a high of only 99 degrees so the impact -- keeps
11:52 am
tomorrow we hit a high of 100 but still below average with the increasing monsoon moisture . as we get drier air in here temperatures get a little hotter but sunday is still not bad at 102 and morning temperatures should be pretty comfortable in the morning -- in the lower 70s through the weekend. this afternoon we reach 97 in an apache junction -- in apache junction and 98 under partly cloudy skies. 99 for the high today in phoenix and with those hundreds out west -- only low 100s protruding to those temperatures. it's 82 in spots like sedona. overnight tonight we see the lows drop in the 40s in the grand canyon and also in flagstaff. mid 60s in winslow and 50s and 60s from payson over to prescott and sedona, a low of 51 in show low and phoenix is down to 80 degrees for the low
