much marble-sized hail came down over the last couple of hours. look at that, it looks like snow there on the top of the peak. temperatures behind these storms have dipped into the 50s, and that's where they is it now, and abc 15 -- sit now, and abc 15 desert doppler showing the storms trying to work back into the flagstaff area, but it's much weaker than this afternoon. stronger storms near prescott, and a lot of lightning across mojave county moving into the gran also heavy rain falling there, and still expecting some hail mixing in as that moves to the east. here across the valley it's pretty quiet. couple of thunderstorms out east near queen valley, and moving into superior, thunderstorms near globe moving east tonight. there will be a slight chance of a few storms in the valley over the next couple of hours, and looking back with me toward the queen creek cam to the southeast, you see some soft showers and thunderstorms out

infant reunited with his family tonight, and now his father is the one facing serious charges. police able to track the father and baby down near 3rd avenue and indian school after they addition appeared wednesday afternoon. inside the truck an assortment of dangerous drugs. luckily the baby was unharmed, and is back with his mother tonight. phoenix city crews working around the clock to repair a busted water main and seal up a sink hole on the west side. the problem hard after a bus plunged through the pavement. melissa blasius is out live where the repairs are happening right now. >> reporter: that's right, let's talk traffic first. tyke a look at -- take a look at this. it's 35th avenue, and it's backed up, but van buren is totally shut down as they replaced the water main pipe down in the hole, and they keep

the 75-year-old cast iron water main that cracked and crumbled under van buren street, and when it did it tried to take a bus with it. >> it was a hard crash like that >> reporter: now traffic is backed up in both directions, crews asking you to avoid the area for the weekend as they first replace the pipes, then the dirt, then the asphalt. the sink hole did so much damage they'll need 6,000 square feet of new pavement, equal to three houses. >> coming out of work and to work is a hassle. i don't know why they don't detour it. >> what happened yesterday with the water is making it worse than it was. >> reporter: phoenix city officials say the water main under van buren is at the age where it's supposed to be replaced. >> and we're looking at the types of materials, the age, and the number of breaks, and we develop data saying when the

the regular season routine. it's not the regular season just yet though. still two more pre-season games to go, but today after the final practice in glendale they say they feel one step closer to real football, and it's a good feeling. >> it's nice to wrap it up and get ready for the actual season to start. i felt like this camp has been a great camp for me, especially being my second one, and team- wise i feel like we're ready to go and excited for the the regular season will be here soon. >> i'm excited to be an arizona cardinal for sure. our job right now is lay new bricks. the past is over with, so it's a whole new season, and hopefully we can have as much success as we've had. >> tomorrow they're on a flight for houston, and suit up for pre-season game three sunday afternoon and that's the game we'll see the most of the starters so far in the pre- season. >> so that's the nail biter.

downtown, and look back to the east with mel, pretty nice storm to the east of queen creek, we're tracking a few of those tonight across the abc 15 desert doppler near superior and storms near globe with a little lightning there, and the valley dry. not that we couldn't see a couple of pop ups because we could, and there's a disturbance moving in rain chances about 20 percent overnight tonight. looking to the east and southeast we me we've had showers and thunderstorms rumbling in and down across pima county over the last couple of hourings. high country, more showers and -- hours. high country, more showers and thunderstorms there. and here's strong storms moving through the grand canyon tonight. a lot of lightning, producing some heavy rain, and they move off to the east. i-40 quiet right now where we did have showers and thunderstorms earlier with a few spotty showers and storms just to the south of sun valley moving off to the east and northeast. back to the valley we'll keep the rain chances around 10 to

evening, and overnight hours through tomorrow morning. and then tomorrow we'll have another slight chance of rain in the forecast. we'll look at that coming up in a couple of minutes. right now though, 98 degrees, we stayed under the century mark today. north/northeast winds at 7 miles per hour currently. plan tonight to stay in the 90s through the 9:00 hour, then the upper 80s by 10:00, and keeping the 80s in the forecast by 11:00, and upper 70s by tomorrow morning. wind speeds staying light tonight, radar composite today, again the highest coverage of storms crook northern arizona. a few -- across northern arizona. a few strong storms there. and they continue to move east this evening, and there's a little drier air back to the west, but a disturbance is moving in from california keeping slight chances across the valley. better chances tomorrow across northern arizona, so if you have plans to travel this weekend north or to the east you can see where the coverage is going to be highest. spotty chances still in the

then a much drier forecast shaping up for us as we have a ridge of high pressure building in taking the rain chances out sunday, monday, and tuesday. not cleat mri out of the -- completely out of the forecast for the higher terrain. better chances as we wrap up the week again across the high country, and here in the valley the rain chances return at least slightly around 10 percent as we get into the thursday and friday forecast. so any storms developing could produce heavy rain and gusty winds. might see a little dust with any storms across the desert, and even small hail not ruled out with the stronger storms, especially into tomorrow afternoon across northern arizona. here's the forecast right now we're at 57 in flagstaff. rain-cooled air there today. 73 in sedona. 40s north tonight. 60 in sedona, 57 in froth. 80 -- prescott. 80 tomorrow in bullhead city. 101 in he would, and looking at

potent drug found in a valley high school. >> skill officials at -- school officials at mountain point in ahwatukee say students were moved out of class rooms after tests came back positive for method. joe is there live, and officials say an on campus apartment could be to maim? >> reporter: yes, apparently there was a security guard that lived here on campus, and he moved out, but the drug discovery was made. the school sent out a letter detailing the disturbing find. they say the apartment was very clean after it was inspected. the security guard resigned and moved out in july, but weeks later the apartment was found to be inen horrible condition, and it tested positive for
