we're getting ready for primary elections and donald trump is confirming he is coming to the valley this week. we will let you know what we learned about his plans. good morning. i don't know if you felt it this weekend, it felt like there was light at the end of the tunnel. like we weren't going to die >> temperatures in the 90s this weekend. they are going back up. it's not going to be terrible. it will be a hotter start to the week. also drive. we are making it back into the hundreds today. know it's going to be hot and dry to start the week, but storm chances will be back by the middle part of the week. today we are waking up to temperatures in the 70s and 80s

low 80s. the sun officially comes up in about an hour. we will see clear skies once the sun comes up. toasty i lunchtime with trip will digits and up to 105 by this afternoon. we will talk about those storm chances in a few minutes. as far as the roads go, things are super quiet. in east valley no issues. heading northbound on the 101 you will see some slowing on the map, actually opened back up. you shouldn't find any problem spots there. we have a crash on i-17 southbound at pinnacle peak road. it is all off to the side. in a couple of minutes we will have a look at i-10. as you get going this morning i want to update you on breaking news. a shooting investigation in

bethany home, a very well- traveled area. nick ciletti is on the scene. this happened at a popular night spot. >> well-traveled area and you mentioned this, a very popular part of town. let's show you what's happening. you can see the police tape and squad cars here. this entire section of 16th st. and bethany home is blocked off shopping center. we know after the shootings the suspect fled north. after that we don't know where they went. you can see first responders working on one of the shooting victims in the doorway. things got so tense that two men ended up -- >> nick, we lost your microphone.

what you need to know, two people shot. non-life- threatening injuries. they're looking for what appears to be two people driving a gold chevy blazer. nick is getting the newest information. as soon as he can rejoin us with what witnesses are telling him and what investigators are telling him we will rejoin him. a major scare at lax. travelers running for safety. investigators calling it a false police searched the area and found nothing. airport officials say a person wearing his zorro costume was detained. we have no idea if that person is connected to the evacuation. that is just an interesting detail. a story about your safety at phoenix sky harbor. a former tsa employee speaking out and revealing some potential problems he finds with the tsa. katie conner is joining us live

what is the deal?>> reporter: when we go to the airport we take out the bottles in our bag, take off our shoes and get in line. often times it's frustrating if there's a lot of people. we're learning we're not the only ones frustrated. julie worked for tsa at the airport for more than nine years. she was recently a witness in a sexual harassment case. she says she was fired a few months later. the reason she says was for a natalie quam says when tsa employees raise concerns about national security they often get punished. >> it is debilitating. i see the officers, i get these phone calls and the low morale, i don't care i'm just doing my shift because if i say something they will terminate me. i sit there and say this is america. this is a federal government.

represents some -- several former tsa officers from's -- from phoenix sky harbor. we did reach out to the tsa and have not heard back yet. hundreds of people gathered to remember the victim of a brutal murder with a candlelight vigil. this was at desert brief park in chandler last night morning the laws of the 84-year-old who was founded his car stabbed in his car at an la fitness ea no suspects or motives. police are asking for help. >> that has caused significant insecurity. we wanted to come together as a community. >> if you have any information call silent witness so we can get this murder off the streets. their bodies found at the side of the road. two teens shot and killed in

as we hear from the father of one of those victims, his name is james give, he says he cannot move on until he gets answers about his daughter, sophia's, death. he says this has even ripped apart his marriage. he says he hopes someone will come forward and help the family solve this mystery. >> it would help me so bad to be able to put this behind us. >> up to $1000 reward for information leading to an arrest in these murders. you can remain anonymous with silent witness. in mesa rescue crews credited for saving the life of a cat trapped in an apartment. mesa fire arriving on the scene to find no one inside but a cat

13 minutes from 75ththe desert drive time is about 13 minutes from 75th avenue. to the mini stack. near 43rd it really slows down. this is i-10 eastbound near 35th avenue. partially blocking the hov lane and partially blocking the exit ramp. if you're trying to get off the 10 i would recommend 43rd avenue. twisted metal and a priest grant -- scattered on a louisiana highway claiming the lives of two people. by the driver involved not have been behind the wheel. a huge glass striking fear in belgium as people immediately think more terrorism. what authorities are now saying this was.

took part in the oregon wildlife refuge standoff and was killed by authorities. us justice department is now investigating statements made by an agent. an attorney for the family says a lawsuit has not been filed yet more details will be released next month. a major scare in belgium. reports of a huge blast leaves everybody on high alert. the nation already on edge after that deadly airport bombing in today's incident happened at eight criminal institute. listen to this. several news outlets are now reporting a car drove through a security barrier then an explosion followed. according to officials the incident is likely an arson attack on the crime lab and not related to terrorism. it sounds like some he was

look at this video. unbelievable, what may be a suicide attempt. a new jersey officer pulling a guy off the tracks and saving his life. the officer just had a second to spare. pulling the guy off of the tracks. the victim jumped onto the tracks and refused to move. here. >> this is a terrible story out of louisiana. firefighters killed along with another man. the scene was chaos after bus filled with construction workers crashed into a fire truck. there is debris everywhere. more than 40 people hurt and several other cars collided with cars. the bus driver didn't have a drivers license and was in the country illegally.

louisiana. this is a florida woman who posted a smiling selfie with her fianci. the next day she was dead. the man charged with killing her, 24-year-old, it was her fianci, authorities say jamaal davis told detectives they got into a fight, he admitted shooting her at least twice. >> it's extremely awful. she was a good girl. a beautiful girl >> police saying davis took off with the two kids, abandoning them at a shopping center before driving his car into a tree. police believe that was an attempt to kill himself. the kids are now in state custody. taking action to keep you safe on the trails. two mountain rescues in the valley over the weekend. a man got dehydrated and needed help down, he later needed an iv but did not go to the hospital.

phoenix sky harbor. i think that temperature will drop to about 80 degrees by 7:00. after that the temple climb again. the earlier the better for your outdoor activities. after that we start to warm into the 90s. 95 will be the temperature by 95 -- by 9:00. topping out at 105 around 4:00 today. abundant sunshine with sunny skies through the valley the storm threat is to the east. there are the areas highlighted in green that can see a chance of storms. other than that, mostly sunny and dry today. tomorrow more storms along the rim and areas to the east. tomorrow we may have to watch for a dust threat in the phoenix metro. i'm not expecting rain chances in the valley until about wednesday. on wednesday and thursday the humidity will also go up answer chances will return.

a want to update you on breaking news, we were first to tell you about this on abc 15.com as two people were shot at a phoenix bar. the suspects on the loose. this was in a well-traveled area, 16th st. and bethany home. nick ciletti is on the scene. it looks like it is still an active investigation. >> reporter: we have at least here. i just spoke with detectives to tell us they're still looking for those guys who shot of the parking lot at cj tallies. this is still a very active seen as detectives are processing everything that happened. they want to tell you what the breakdown was. police tell us about 2:00 this morning there was a fight in the parking lot that got out of hand. two of the guys decided to leave and

guys. one person was in the doorway at the time. i'm told one person was shot in the upper leg and the other person in the lower leg. i'm working to get an update on conditions. what we do know is the suspects drove way north on 16th st. headed toward glendale avenue. they were driving in a gold chevy blazer. that is the vehicle police are searching for. i'm working to get an update on the condition of the victims and trying to see if better -- get a better system -- description of the suspects. >> thank you for that update. a major scare at lax as travelers were running for safety. investigators now saying it was a false alarm. police searched the area and found nothing. officials say a person wearing a zorro costume was detained but it is not clear if that

the evacuation. abuse of power, intimidation, low morale are the latest accusations aimed at the tsa. katie conner joins us from sky harbor airport with more. bespoke with an insider about some major concerns. >> reporter: they have to do with your safety. at the end of the day tsa is the last out between you and a bad guy. a former employee telling me tsa doesn't even followhe own protocol. >> there are days i was on and say -- x-ray five hours straight. you're only supposed to be in that position for 30 minutes. >> reporter: julie was a tsa officer at sky harbor for nearly 9 years. now she says often times the tsa does not follow protocol because of understaffing. we checked with the union represents some tsa employees and found even more. devon peers spent more than 11 years with the tsa and says the biggest problem is a lack of

vehicle out of her sight. >> my mom was there and she attempted to stop them. when my sister got away sheet got into the car with my mom. the people took off so my mom was trailing them. >> no one was in the building during the crash. two people in the silver sedan were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. another guy tried running from the scene. he didn't make it very far. we are waiting for answers as to what exactly start this -- started all of this. the pinal county sheriff's office saying two cold case murders that happened in the casagrande area -- a second set of remains were found in a septic tank in 2014, both venable reported missing in 2008 from a west phoenix home. these murders being linked to a

identified. we should learn more this morning. a sad story out of tucson as a teenage boy was found shot to death lying in the middle of the street. he was shot by his own friends while trying to rob several people please tell us. patrol officers heard shots fired sunday morning. shortly after they found the victim's body, 15-year-old jonathan schmeling who was with three others trying to rob a group of people who were walking down the street. officers say someone in the initial group pulled out a gun and started shooting. jonathan was hit and killed. the three he was with facing charges of first-degree murder. a couple of different fires happening right now. the first one excess to chandler and mcclintock. crusade this fire is suspicious since it was a rental home and the tenant had moved out yesterday morning. the fire started on the porch
