the crime scene tape put up as officers were investigating. the man on the bike rushed to the hospital. i do not know the extent of his injuries that was an electric bike with no lights or reflectors the driver did stay on the scene. i wanted to update everyone on the news happening from overnight. right now, looking for teen who robbed a papa murphy's. the 18-year-old walked into the store, showed a gun and demanded off in a sports car headed toward i-17. two cell phone stores were robbed in 24 hours police can't say if it's a coincidence. in the first robbery, the man with a red hat, black underarmor and a bat barges into a verizon store. an employee was forced into the bathroom as the crook tried to crack the safe and stole all of

dps is working with mexican authorities helping them with training and sharing information on stolen cars and wanted fugitives he hopes one day they will be in a position to work on sensitive intelligence. in a perfect world, one day, i would like to have someone in my counterterrorism center that is trusted and we can share the information. >> the director says adding the communities in mexico are just as concerned about the the ammo coming from the u.s. as the u.s. is worried about the drugs flowing northward. >> primary night is over. a couple of races are still too close to call. one of those is for congress, we're talking about district 5. christine jones leading by 875 votes and with some ballots, it could be a few more days until an official winner is declared.

she's trailing her republican challenger by 350 votes close here. also one more race is for glendale mayor. he's holding onto a slight lead. that one is less than 200 votes this race and others could be changed by a cluster of ballots left at a glendale middle school overnight. 6 minutes after the hour, results with web site crashed on the first night. it keeps track on the votes in realtime but went down after the polls closed. secretary of state says about 20,000 people were using the web site, but that wasn't the problem. it was a programming glitch. >> we were able to isolate the prom and it was a locked file. the locked file on the back end of the system.

there's more rain on the way. hermine is not the only tropical storm that has people on edge. madeline is heading away from hawaii now. lester heading toward hawaii. a hospital is being evacuated after a massive power outage. the hospital d backup power source. it could be dangerous for patients acquiring machines if there's another outage. fire officials say wiring for the backup generators damaged, ambulances from across the state called in to other hospitals >> we have to talk about a different kind of pain at the pump heading into the long labor day weekend. credit card skimmers found at 7

abc 15 joining us now, allison, how are they going undetected? >> it's pretty incredible to think about. for one, people are always on the go here at the gas stations about secondly, the skimmers are not big and chunky. some are hard to spot. authorities alerting us they have found more skimmers than first thought. you can see how many have put your money and your info at risk. so far this reported at arizona pumps with half of that, 24. in august alone, just this month alone, officials say more and more keep popping up but they are cracking down and trying to track them down as well. >> every gas station could get hit. you never know. the information about skimmers has been out there. it's up to us to be vigilant about it. >> authorities say you should

everyone one of many we're following you'll probably notice it's a little muggy out there. >> the monsoon moisture going up overnight again we're tracking the increase in monsoon moisture the last couple days it will feel muggy, we're tracking a few showers lingering. some of you had storms last night. but some sprinkles just south of the valley from maricopa to the east.

northwest. we have a 10% chance of a stray shower for the valley for the morning commute. it's 87 degrees, waiting sunrise, partly cloudy skies is what you see once the sun comes up by this afternoon, partly cloudy, more storms are possible as we head into this afternoon and we could see some dust i'll break down your storm chances in a few minutes we're still crash-free on the freeways this morning. the 10 is slowing down. it's around 75th and you have a break traveling eastbound and between 43 and 35th, it's also slowing down a bit for you. as you get onto i-17, no problems there. a 16-minute desert drive time.

you're still looking great as well we'll give you a look at state route 51 in a couple minutes. from the live desk, a couple stories we're following now. a man shot in the leg near 19th avenue, there was a fast response to this one. shot in the leg, non-life-threatening injuries. this one is strange the man told police officers he was shot by mailboxes at his apartment complex, police found no blood, no bullets cases he had a gunshot wound. officers telling our crews it's not connected to the serial street shooter. from that shooting, to what appears to be a shooting, we have a 2-year-old boy in the hospital treated after he apparently was playing with a gun an accidently shot himself. the child found his dad's handgun and decided to play with it. the two-year-old was handling the gun when it discharged.

leg. it happened at 40th avenue. they're now working with the family. the child is still expected to survive. a phoenix woman who ran down her boyfriend with a car will know her fate. live at superior court. this is part of a plea deal. >> that is right. she did. this is misty, she acceed plea deal. she's bringing the charges down from attempted murder to aggravated assault it's all stemming from her running her boyfriend over with her mustang. let's go to video and show you. according to court documents, it's happened back in april. now she told police she didn't mean to hit him. he was distraught and trying to get away. he had just dropped a bomb

taunting her. he cut her with a knife and she got in the car and tried to get away and jumped a curb and went through a park and hit someone. didn't know who it was and how her boyfriend got in front of the car. according to court documents, there were witnesses in that neighborhood that heard her threatening to kill her boyfriend. she is expected to accept a plea deal this morning in court. that plea deal with drop the charges down to aggravated of an accident. she didn't call police until like 30 minutes later. it hasn't been 12 hours since trump was in the valley. after his speech on immigration, he made a beeline for ohio. he will be talking about his policy today. a lot of people are talking about trump's immigration plan he unveiled in the valley
