to get your credit card information. 59 skimmers have been found that pumps in our state compared to 11 last year. abc15 is taking action to protect you. how are they doing this? >> reporter: it doesn't take them long. just seven seconds to get in. they have a master key to get inside these machines and install their device. security fields are installed on newer pumps. if you see one of these broken, it is a bad sign. newer pumps like these usually have layers of technology to prevent thieves from breaking in. it is older pumps at gas stations to watch out for. pick pumps closest to the gas station door. try to go to well lit places. thieves may be fast but they like to work in the shadows. we are also learning about who they are.

it started from storms dear -- near maricopa an hour ago where we soar winds racing out of those storms picking up dust along the way. as it moves into the valley, it disclosing pop-up showers -- it is causing pop-up showers. right now heavy rain along i-10 stretching from near the phoenix outlets where the 10 and 202 meet all the way up past elliott. it also extends when the 202 becomes pay coast road. south mountain freeway getting soaked. farther down to the south rain showers to the west and southwest of maricopa. we also have showers in the multiple terrain. there is one southeast of

and thunderstorms popping up to the southwest of prescott moving into that area. another one between mayor and humbled. you can see the rain really heavy even farther south of that advisory. the biggest threats for the higher terrain will be pockets of heavy rainfall leading to localize flooding. we will see that here locally. for the east valley, reduced visability and that dust rolls in. 20% chance for showers and thunderstorms in phoenix metro and blowing dust advisory until 6 pm. temperatures in the mid-90s through 7:00 and 8 o'clock. down to 90. winds haven't picked up too bad out of the west at 7 miles per hour. cave creek, ninety six. maricopa, 95. phoenix metro in the low 100s.
