a shooting we have been following all morning is now a homicide investiga saying two men forced themselves to the back door of a hookah lounge. that is where mario cholak was playing cards. we are told one man walked up to him, forced him into an office, another man was then forced to the ground. shots were fired hitting mario cholak and he died at the hospital. the two men got away with guns and drugs. police investigating an

katie conner brings us the latest. >> reporter: the officer is on paid administrative leave but early this morning police say the officer spotted eight suspicious guy walking. police say when the officer asked him to show his hands this is what happened. >> the suspect do his hands out and show that he had a knife. it looked to be a kitchen knife. he then became aggressive with the officer, advanced on the the suspect. >> the suspect was rushed to the hospital and is expected to live. >> reporter: i just learned the suspect is 23 years old from morocco. this area was shut down for several hours,.

chandler, the car that you see upside down in the dirt came off of a car hauler so no one was inside. dps said the driver of the tractor-trailer while driving recklessly and ended up on the side of the freeway. another rollover turned deadly on the westbound side of loop 202. it made rush hour a total nightmare. a man was speeding when he hit a car from behind. that caused the suv to slip over. the passenger was ejected and later pronounced dead. the other two drivers will be okay. dps officials are still investigating. >> we have no indication that they knew each other. road rage, we don't know.

he was a sun devil and in arizona cardinals joined the army rangers after 911. he was killed in 2004. the vfw post renamed itself in honor of tillman. the pres., kurt davis, stole more than $100,000 from the club. we spoke with a veteran whose has some strong feelings about this. >> shocked turns to outrage and if he is proved guilty he ought to be convicted. that is stealing from veterans. >> davis is now out of jail. we could not reach him for comment. police are on the lookout for a man with a weapon who they say tried to rob a pizza hut. we are told the man is in his 40s and he got away in a nissan. good news, no one was hurt. let's take you to answer for the second night in a row police looking for a teenager accused of robbing a business.

there. notice the dew points, they are still holding on to the 60s. feeling muggy as we go even through the afternoon. but, over the next couple of days it is going to start to feel more comfortable when it comes to humidity as we get some dry air in here. by sunday into monday we are dry. it is just today that we have that lingering moisture. right now all quiet in the valley, even in the maricopa county, still pretty quiet. it is the high country that is getting the action so far. that is typically we are storms get going first. we will be watching for storms to develop. we have a few in northwest arizona, some scattered storms right around prescott producing some heavy rainfall. some of the storms impacting

again, you can see some of that dangerous lightning and pockets of heavy rain. be on alert if you are traveling to the high country. you are going to encounter some scattered storms. that storm chance will continue as we go through the next few hours. along the white mountain starting to see a few storms developing. a few out near greer too. this area also has a good shot of seeing more storms as we go through today. slight chance of storms in southeast arizona too. as i mentioned still quiet so far. as we go into the afternoon we could see a few pop-up showers. overall the best potential will be across the rim and north central arizona. the valley has a chance of a few scattered showers this afternoon. it does not look very promising but that chances there. this evening we start to get dry air and we will clear out the storm chances after 6:00. you will notice clearing skies

tomorrow a chance of storms along the rim but the valley looking to stay dry for tomorrow and mostly sunny with sunny skies by sunday and when the dry air comes in we keep the sunny skies into the weekend. the dry air will come in as we tracking system moving into the pacific northwest. as the moisture clears out the storm chances will also clear out. this afternoon ten% chance of rain. any storms that develop will have the potential of wind, and some pockets of heavy rain. we will talk temperatures for today and also for the weekend in just a few minutes. pamela anderson is calling for "in honest dialogue about the dangers of pornography." she is teaming up with a rabbi for the porn is for losers campaign. the latest sexting scandal involving anthony weiner is behind this.

we are taking action raising awareness today about child abuse in arizona. it is actually "superhero september." we are joined by police detective and some superheroes over here to my right and my they are helping to collect donations. can you give us a little bit of background. >> we started to bring attention to an uncomfortable topic and that is child abuse. we introduced the mythology of the superhero, overcoming, becoming a champion. when the still to come to us they are very sad. we want to let them know you can

samsung says it has confirmed 35 cases caused by faulty batteries. more than 1 million galaxy note seven have been sold since the product launched. consumers will be able to swap them out for new smart phones. 7000 jobs getting cut that walmart. the retailer says it is centralizing it accounting department. walmart says it is helping to move those workers to the selling floor and other departments. we are working to find out what that means for our state. you might notice fewer new cars on the road. auto sales falling last month and ending the summer on a negative note.

flooding. again, a lot to be alert for here across northern arizona. one area under a flood advisory is from prescott over to kirkland. this does extend out to the junction and parts of interstate 17. storms there are producing heavy rainfall in spots and you can see it in the red. a lot of heavy rain hitting some of the same areas and that will lead to a flooding concerns. a lot of lightning with these storms in northwest arizona. another area of a flood advisory right around flagstaff as a have seen some heavy rainfall there. you can see a lot of lightning

we are starting to see more storms develop along the rim. holbrook is seeing some of those. this is going to be an impact along interstate 40. so, again, take it slow. all quiet in the phoenix area, but we will have to keep an eye on things as there is a 10% chance we could see a storm as we head into the afternoon. currently sitting at 96. we will see a little more cloud cover as well. today's high in phoenix 103 not too bad, right at average but still hot and the humidity is not going to feel comfortable. we will try out saturday, sunday and monday before storm chances return. as you make your labor day plans plan on sunny skies through the weekend. highs in the low one hundreds and morning temperatures in the
