of a tearful day on both sides. melissa blasius was live, and what turned out with the sentence first of all? >> reporter: first of all when the judge sentenced these two she says there's no penalty she could impose that's equal to the suffering here of the victims, of the pet owners. saying that, the judge then sentenced both to 60 days in jail. and that is both cruelty as well as fraud as the dog owners talked today in court at sentencing, they showed pictures of pets and say they were like family members, and were misled about the conditions at the kennel and they were lied too by the family after the dogs today. in addition to jail, the couple will each serve six years of probation, and must complete 230 hours of community service. >> it's a day that, you know,

rides to school. navideh forghani is live at the. district headquarters, and any idea how long the protest could last? >> reporter: well, this is supposed to be the only day for the protest according to bus drivers i spoke to off camera, so no inconvenience expected for monday morning, but about 15 drivers called out sick on purpose to get the district's attention. the real big issue is coming down to drivers areupset about not getting a -- are upset about not getting a raise in years, claiming this district pays the lowest. the district actually says the rates are pretty competitive. the protest did disrupt things a bit though. they couldn't cover the route, and there were delays up to 30 minutes, and parents are upset because some kids missed cool. we have the district's -- school. we have the district's statement on www.abc15.com, but
