to close immediately, and we're just learning exactly what will happen to the roughly 1400 students attending both land mark and challenger schools. megan thompson is live, and it's really throwing parents' routines completely out the window. >> reporter: oh, absolutely, katie, and obviously this all happened within just a month of the school year starting. parents have been pouring in the doors for the community meetings to learn on. turns out there were bad cracks in the foundation at both of the buildings at land mark and challenger that forced them to be uncertain, so they couldn't send people to attend there. they're off from school until wednesday. school officials are hoping to start on the repairs this week, finishing within five weeks. during that time the students schedules are down to five

calling out on friday, and the district forced to find alternate drivers. most returned to work today. they were upset over pay. she's accused of turning a pg party into an x rated event. the yoga teacher in court for closing arguments. she faces misdemeanor charges dating back to a 2015 party, accused of letting several underage boys fondled her breast, and performing a sex act on one. >> she seduced the boys all night long. moves into the house, into the bedroom. >> her lawyer claim she was too drunk to consent to sex. closing arguments continue tomorrow. the list of charges longer tonight after investigators find out what this guy was up

this weekend. the man fired at a car on the freeway, but before that they say he assaulted a woman. they were both standing in the median for some reason. police say rodriguez blew out a driver's windshield as the victim drove by. we're told two people in the car were not hurt. and no new leads after a deadly shooting on the 51. wednesday marks one week since dena farmer was killed. police believe the killer is driving in a white work style truck. at least two others may have been with the gunman. forward and tell police who the shooter is. at this point it appears farmer knew her killer. and democracy 2016. here in the valley, the gop race is still too close to call, and could now be investigated. that's what the campaign for christine jones wants to happen. they're questioning anomalies in the early ballot, especially those in chandler precincts that favored jones, and want to

tossed out as over votes. the campaign sent a long letter to the arizona secretary of state and attorney general as county elections results are finally certified, pavingings the way for a -- paving the way for a recount. right now only 16 votes separate jones and state senate president andy biggs. on the national level, violence at donald trump's rally in north carolina. a man seen hitting two men and trying to slap a woman as the protesters were escorted out, but the supporter got to stay. trump was defending supporters against a comment by rival hillary clinton. meanwhile clinton saying within the last 30 minutes she didn't reveal the pneumonia diagnosis on friday because she didn't know it would turn into a big deal, but it was. yesterday she was so dehydrated he had to leave a 9/11 ceremony early. much of her campaign team has

the same bug that started making the rounds two weeks ago. now clinton canceled plans to visit california today, and tomorrow so she can rest at home and right now we have new information from police about the shooters who opened fire on a teen house party. now, originally it was believed the suspects shot from car, but that's not the case. abc 15's maryellen resendez is near 83rd avenue and lower buckeye road where it all can you clear it up for us? >> reporter: phoenix police believe the shooters were actually right here in this park, and they say they shot from the park. now, the teen party was just across the street where you're seeing right now, the homeowners who we spoke with asked us not to identify them, with the they told us -- but they told us they don't know why or if their party was the target. >> everybody is making it look like it started from here, that we were the bad guys, we've

it was an innocent birthday party for our grand daughter. there was no alcohol served here or drugs found in here. >> reporter: now police say the 15-year-old's birthday has been advertised on social media. but the homeowners say it just got way out of hand with unwanted guests. then all of the sudden the gun fire erupted. now one of the adults at the party was arrested, he was firing from the party's location, but the homeowners say it was in self-defen >> that's what the kids were saying. he said get on the ground, get inside, get on the ground, stay away from the windows and all that, so when they came around again like this he went, you know, shot the gun in the air. >> reporter: now police aren't exactly seeing it that way. they have charged the man with aggravated assaulted because they believe the white suv where they originally thought

they believe his gunshot the suv, and they charged him with possessing a firearm while on probation. they're still searching for the shooter or shooters because they don't know if it was one or more that was in the park, and those two teens are still in serious but stable condition. live in phoenix, maryellen resendez, abc 15 news. meantime they were at least 50 people at this valley party, meaning someone knows something. tonight a man in his 30s recovering from a gunshot wound after at least five shots were fired near one person was hit twice. police questioned 16 people. no word what police have learned from them. a mexican man wanted in north carolina for some unbelievable crimes is caught in the border trying to hide out in our state. investigators say the panel was kicked out of the -- man was kicked out of the us in 2015, and is in more trouble for trying to get back in, and also facing charges in north carolina. he set something on fire there, assaulted a woman and a child under the age of 12

it, but the good news, those living inside are safe, and now the investigation begins near 36th street. so far crews aren't sure how the house fire started and will sift through the evidence. one mesa neighborhood likely locking their doors more than usual after a burglar arrest this weekend. now word the crook's accomplice is still on the run. police say the homeowner walked in on the thieves near alma school and baseline. the ran to a neighbor's house to call 911. the bed bugs are biting in a west phoenix wal-mart. the video will make your skin crawl, and people are wondering what kind of health concerns come when there's bugs where you bile your family's food. jason is live with the store. >> reporter: you feel them before you can see them. bed bugs only the size of this

all right, in the meantime we have showers and thunderstorms to track for the southeast valley. the mayo cam pointed down toward the storm here in question that's moving out toward apache junction at this hour. here's what it looks like in abc 15 desert doppler radar. this started as a couple of pop ups near maricopa, headed to the east and northeast, and now there's the possibility of hail the size of dimes between queen creek and apache junction right now as it continues to move to the east and northeast. so it's crossing the 60. little light rain to the of gold canyon, but the heavier stuff is on its way, and will be in the gold canyon area shortly. they'll move to the east over the next several hour, then there's a chance of more pop ups here tonight and tomorrow as well as we deal with the moisture in place. farther east the severe thunderstorm warning canceled early near oracle. we do have a heavy pocket of shower activity and a lot of lightning to the east of hayden and more across southeast

thunderstorm moving across the area right now as well. everything is pretty much moving from the west of the east, and that's going to continue to be the general storm movement here tonight and tomorrow. also picking up on some dust near the queen creek cam, so watch out for that as well. any tomorrows that develop will be capable of kicking out gusty winds and isolated areas of heavy rain that could lead to flooding. 94 tonight at 7:00 p.m. 91 by 9:00ment overnight 77 showers. 10 percent shot in the forecast tomorrow as well, but not as warm. 98 the high here in phoenix. here's the next low pressure system coming in, temperatures below 100 for the rest of the week keeping shower chances going, and it's going to be picking up our winds, so as we look at everything on the list here, those winds cranking up across northern arizona is probably going to be the biggest impact we'll feel across the state from this. look at futurecast tomorrow.

flagstaff and kingman. gustscould top 40, so a wind advisory is in effect for that area tomorrow. here's a look at temperatures. 73 in prescott, 65 in flagstaff, and 77 in sedona. 40 percent chance of storms up there. 10 percent here in phoenix. then drier through the middle to end of the week, and we'll look at the seven-day in the next half hour. all right, you just can't make this stuff up. phoenix police help inflatable chick-fil-a cow that disappeared. it was a tip to police that helped solve part of missing cow mystery. i disappeared from the back of a truck on the way to a local event. now keep in mind, the cow weighed 350 pounds and stands 24 feet tall when fully inflated. it was found in a backyard near thomas and mcdowell. the homeowner says hey, they got it from a garage sale. police are still investigating. tonight why a pregnant inmate is told she can sue the

this is abc 15 news, taking action. she betrayed cancer patients and their families, steeling hundreds of -- stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the charity she worked for, and now she's going to prison. >> but the organization is left to clean up the mess, and also rebuild trust. >> reporter: one person's actions are hurting so many. staff here at cancer supp community arizona say they feel betrayed, a former employee broke the community's trust, and now they're working to rebuild that. this is the woman, last year when she was arrested for embezzleling $200,000 from the company's credit cards to buy clothes, electronics, concert tickets, even adding $40,000 to her pay check. in the year since, staff has worked to rebuild the broken trust with the community, private donors, and the people they served.

along the us 60 near gold canyon. you can see the desert doppler and what we're tracking. a lot of the stuff hitting the southeast valley over the last hour is pushing farther out to the east, so we have that rain the live drive is picking up on near the us 60, and it's about to get harder as the red batch hits the 60. so we'll continue to watch that. we saw blowing dust as well, but visibility has improved so we'll keep a slight chance, 10 percent of a stray shower or thunderstorm through the evening. and we'll also see another slight chance into tomorrow afternoon and early evening. things breezy across the valley right now, and the winds on the get stronger state-wide tomorrow. we'll talk about why and the spots we have to watch out for wind advisories coming up. and there's a search for a

after a shoot out at desert ridge marketplace this weekend. police say two people met up to finish a sale that started online, but turned into a shoot out between the two. police departments across the country and here in the valley have started to create sufficient zones at their -- safe zones at their offices if you have to complete a transection. right now there's a deadly hit and run driver on our roads, and dps needs your help to get them caught. it's a white or light colored chevrot bed and custom taillights, most likely with damage. the man was hit this morning. he was caught in the roadway when his car broke down. the suspect sped off taking bethany home's exit. and this teen accused of faking that he was a doctor is once again behind bars without bond. he was just arrested in

the 19-year-old tried to buy a jaguar using a woman's personal information, even bringing her to the dealership claiming she was his god mother. he used asu's name claiming he had a degree with the university. there was no such record. she thinks there are anomalies, and now christine jones is calling for an investigation into the district 5 race dealing with early ballots counted three days after the primary election. she wants to know why so many ballots were tossed out as over votes coming as county election results are certified paving the way for a recount. right now only 16 votes separate jones and biggs. a new hillary clinton campaign tasement features -- advertisement features an arizona politician, but it's not who you think. that is senator jeff flake featured alongside other republicans criticizing donald

from the live desk we're learning more about the mosque fire in florida. investigators are saying it was arson, and may in fact be a hate crime. listen to the 911 calls from that night. >> okay, don't go anywhere near it, okay? >> flames are just going up

flames for almost five hours. surveillance cameras first picking up a man arriving on a motorcycle, and minutes later he's running from the scene. the mosque was once attended by the man that was the shooter in the pulse night club shooting. new information now on that murder suspect who escaped hand cuffs perez allegedly killed his victim, admitting to have high on crystal meth. he said he killed the man after a heated exchange at mcdonald's. despite being hand cuffed and shackled in a locked interview room, perez escaped by breaking out of the hand cuffs and crawling through the ceiling. he was later captured by the fbi. now to a health alert. a mom says one bath changed her baby's life forever, and now

shampoo for burning her child. she's also found similar complaints online from parents. police in wisconsin have a new way of cracking down on bullying by punishing parents. a new city ordinance says parents could face a fine if they're caught bullying. police would notify parents first about the bullying b if they do -- but if they do nothing within 90 days they get fined. >. yo could become much easier. they plan to roll out self- driving carts. they'll have sensors and video cameras, and you can request a part possibly with a smart phone, and when it comes to abandoned carts the system can identify the carts and return them to a docking station. no word yet on when or where they'll start using the new system apparently arizona ranks high when it comes to drinking and drugs.

well to track, near the interchange of the 202 and the 60 in that area. so heavy pocket of rain stretching out to the east, and then along the 60, to the east of gold canyon in between gold canyon and florence junction is where we're seeing the storm on the queen creek cam with lightning and heavy rain out there. farther to the east, more shower and thunderstorm activity to track, a little right now, and southeast arizona still quite a bit of action down there, and these spots will see the best chances for storms over the next several hours, and going into tomorrow too. right now at 97 here in phoenix. west winds breezy at 12 miles per hour, and a 10 percent shot of a stray shower or thunderstorm this evening, and temperatures falling out of the triple digits across much of the valley.

prescott -- 70s in prescott and sedona, and winds picking up in the higher terrain, gusts right now topping 29 and 30 miles per hour in the i-40 corridor, and this time tomorrow topping 40 miles per hour a possibility, so northern arizona under a wind advisory tomorrow. most of mohave county and a few breezes in the afternoon forecast. all the areas shaded in tan under th northeast arizona with a red flag warning too. upper 50s tonight in prescott and payson. # 8 tomorrow -- 88 tomorrow in globe, 77 in sedona, and 65 in flagstaff. phoenix hitting 97 putting it several degrees below the average of 101, but still have a slight chance of a stray shower in play before drying things out for the rest of the week. and the triple digits as i mentioned are out of here.
