police tell us this guy may know something about a sexual assault at the w hotel in scottsdale. hear the exact details. it happened sunday, september 4th, between 11:00 and 11:30 at night. they need an arrest in this right away. you would think they want justice. but the two people shot outside a 7-eleven while sitting at a bus stop aren't saying much about it. so police are trying to find out if they know the gunman in the case. they are expected to be okay. he's just a baby and already in the fight of his life. the 1-year-old and three adults were all seriously hurt in the accident on the loop 101 in indian school today. we're told a few cars were involved in this one. but right now, no word on what caused this crash. and lives at risk in this case. i told you from the live desk, an official samsung note 7 recall tonight. it's a whopping $1 million.

williams, arizona. they're just devastated. stunned about the turn of events that took their daughter's life here. she was a psychologist on her way to work yesterday morning. she had just dropped off her 15- year-old son at school and put her 6-year-old son on the bus. margie was a single mom. she just divorced last month. 18-year-old keith johnson slammed her truck into her car and two others. allegedly because he was depressed and wanted to kill himself. neighbors are angry. >> selfish. he should've just done something else. it was centuryish on his -- selfish on his part. to take someone else's life along with your own. that's sad. >> reporter: back to you. >> thank you so much, jeff. we send you a breaking

for you. police say a man was seen running down the street with a meat cleaver and he hit an officer in the street with it in the face. that's when police fired 18 times. the guy was shot and in critical condition. he's been in trouble many times before. 15 different arrests. the latest three weeks ago after he was found carrying knives near a synagogue. as for the motive today, still waiting for that investigation. we've already seen officers targeted for no reason tonight. deputies in our state are being attacked just for trying to help. not once but five times. they say this man, 25-year-old ewely sis g -- ulysses got drunk, fell, and was hurt wednesday morning. they say he got nasty, hit deputies with his fists, and kicked them as well. your voit, your vote.

penton's saying that if he doesn't move out, he'll murder his roommate. >> come on! he's tweeting he'll do it! he didn't get out. why didn't he just leave, chris? i don't understand that. >> reporter: he could face 10 years to more than 20 years in prison, a possibility that the victim's family can't understand. we can't show you his face because of his age. but we can tell you the crime scene linked to one valley teen. the 17-year-old admitted shot and killed rosario cortez back in september 2nd. the teen was picked up at his home in mesa. we know there was a fight the time of the shooting but we don't know what started it. from life behind bars to a second chance at life. a valley woman walking out a free woman. elizabeth whittle accused of shaking her quadruplets so violently she broke their bones

she's asking her sentence to be reduced from 172 years to just 17. and now the 18-year-old children are now thriving in their adoptive home. i after the uproar, the tears, legal hurdles, both sides of the sb1070 debate made their peace tonight. the last seven challenges have been thrown out, challenged by civil rights groups in the state to make sure officers are not engaging in racial profiling. they now must do. the reasons for pulling someone over if they believe that person is illegally. man tried to take his own life, instead killing an innocent woman, taking her mom away from two kids. it's a fiery crash in surprise today. and now her parents are speaking out to us tonight. just spoke with them. jason? >> reporter: we're in margie's neighborhood. she's never coming back. her two kids, ages 6 and 15, are now without a mom. her parents say this is all

somebody else. now, take a look. this is what destroyed lives look like. the twisted metal part of a grisly scene wednesday morning. she's a psychologist, on her way to work. the suspect swerved at margie's car. she was killed and two other drivers were hurt in that four- car pileup that followed. johnson admitted on scene he was trying to commit suicide. margie's parents having a hard time understanding this one. >> loving, person who had her life cut short by this idiot who wanted to commit suicide and he took her life and he should've gone out and hit a brick wall, not damaged other people's lives [ holding back tears ] >> reporter: more from this very emotional interview. margie was just putting her life together, we're told, after a divorce. >> and we're thinking of her kids as well.

easier tonight after a dangerous fugitive finds himself behind bars. we first told you about the manhunt for david howe earlier this week after police linked him to a brutal attack at a pizza shot in tucson. that violent encounter captured on chilling surveillance video. no word yet on how they tracked him down. the reason still doesn't make sense. an ambulance decorated with a military memorial targeted by vandals last week. megan thompson tells us it didn't take long for the community at that take action. >> reporter: that was a story that made a lot of people angry. many wondering who would do something like this. but one local company decided to do above being angry and do something about it. emergency medical veterans response was on their way to a 9/11 event when they found their ambulance destroyed. >> they cut all this. >> reporter: it cost thousands

a new page of controversy for sheriff paul babeu. sources tell us the fbi has subpoenaed records related to how babeu's office used seized criminal money also known as rico funds. critics have said pcso's use of the foundation is like money laundering. and they've also accused babeu of using the funds to fuel his campaign. it may already be illegal campaigning with government resources. or if they're just being used to make the sheriff look good, as he runs for congress.
