moisture increases and the winds go up. we'll talk about the -- i-17 southbound is slow and go from northern to about thomas and then we still have a crash mcdowell and i-17. and it's impacting you on the eastbound direction. let's give you a look at the desert drive times. 17-minute social security what we're up to now. the delays begin just before that and the drive time takes you to the before the tunnel. i also want to give you a look at the 10 in the east valley. this is at chandler boulevard. and you can tell it's picking up in the westbound direction. and you'll see a car on the right on the ramp. maybe slide to the left and give them a little extra space. let's get to it. this is the breaking news happening in houston right now.

situation in houston. abc news reporting seven people injured at a strip mall. the suspect was shot by police officers. and they are not looking for anybody else. this started at 6:30 houston time if you will at a petco store. no word on the severity of injuries. you see the law enforcement presence there and as soon as i get an update as we look live at t out of the parking lot, that's the possible shooter vehicle. i do not have a condition update on the victims or the suspect. seven people injured at the strip mall. we'll be visiting this as new information comes in. right now police are looking for two witnesses who may have seen a murder go down right in the gas station parking lot. we know a 35-year-old guy was

lot near hayden and mckellis. >> police were able to track down two women after a brief pursuit. it's not clear why someone would want to shoot and kill this guy. police are hoping that the two witnesses maybe able to she had some light on -- shed some light on the case. and abc15 is aware social media threat involving a local high school. somebody posted a photo of guns, warning people to stay home. several concerned parents and students sharing the post. and some concerned parents calling the newsroom early this morning. we want to let you know we reached out to phoenix police. and they are aware of the situation. and we've reached out to the high school union district and they are taking the situation

i'll let you know what we find out as it pertains to your children's safety. marchs and protests, and the racial tension is near a boiling point. and today there's one planned for valley. katie conner is live in tempe. and a lot of folks holding their breath, wondering what might happen this morning. >> reporter: police are warning students to find a different route to the organizers say they plan to block all the traffic on the mill avenue bridge. they are demanding justice for the woman killed by phoenix police and also for dalvin hollins. and a lieutenant shot and killed him. officers thought that he was armed but no gun was ever found. this morning's rally comes on

protests in charlotte over the shooting of keith scott. the governor did end up lifting the curfew. you can see setup is underway for the rally. i checked with tempe police and there are no plans to shut down traffic on the bridge. and as any of the protesters get off the sidewalk, they could be arrested. the countdown is on and twitter poll -- looks like 60% are watching the debate. we're hours away from the debate. both candidates spending the weekend preparing for tonight. we're told clinton has been studying materials daily. and trump has not focused on policy or he would mock debates. the debate will be divided into six different segments for a total of 90 minutes.

down. take dunlap or glendale as you're using the side streets. we have the delays on the 10, 91st avenue to 19th avenue. north valley is super quiet. the 101 and in this area i'm not seeing any trouble spots. let's talk about your most accurate forecast. we had abundant sunshine this morning. and this morning, cloud cover ro nice cloud cover too. not seeing any rainfall. but the clouds making for a nice start. the rain is falling across southeast arizona. aside from a sprinkle or two under the thickest clouds, expecting things will stay dry for the morning commute. by this evening. we'll bring back a 10% chance for light showers that could move in. first they'll develop in southeast arizona and then they'll start tracking our way.

temperatures a little bit milder, milder than they were all weekend. and the cloud cover doesn't allow the temperatures to cool off. mesa, gilbert, chandler still sitting in the 80s. and anthem is right at 80. a mild start across the valley. so we've got the cloud cover and we have a boost in moisture. the dew point is in it's not going to feel muggy. but the boost in moisture will bring rain chances. and watch for the showers to move north and eventually move to the valley. just a 10% chance of rain in the phoenix metro. and any rain we get will likely be light. and tomorrow we could get thunderstorms as the moisture is in place. and we'll have a chance for scattered showers and

the left and the right. and east valley drivers -- where i'm not seeing any trouble spots. and look out for a change on u.s. 60. new barriers are up in tempe approaching the i-10. this is between the hov lane and the exit lane for i-10 eastbound. that's been a trouble spot for years. adot hopes the new barrier help drivers choose the lane a little earlier. now you see it, now you don't. >> this is the old hell canyon bridge being taken down. the bridge did not meet safety standards any more.
