from a cell phone video, and you can see officers approaching alfred alongo before they shot him. they thought he was holding a weapon, but it turned out to be a smoking vapor device, and just in we're learning police in charlotte plan to release full dash cam video and body cam videos in the keith scott shooting there, but i don't know how soon it will happen. we'll pass word along to you as soon as we hear. and a search fo in a valley, it's been 20 hours since a man was shot outside a convenience store and has since died on union hills. the gunman shot the victim and then hopped into another car and took off. police were called to an apartment complex where the shooter were thought to be -- was thought to be hiding, but no arrests were made. and there's a man that's

lighting a firework inside a wal-mart in june, and then putting it back on the shelf, and it ignited a big time fire. it happened back in june at the store at 51st avenue and indian school. more than 100 people were evacuated. the man is facing arson and other charges. at the live desk, take a good look at this sketch we're getting in. deputies say a man that looks a lot like this was involved in two armed robberies in anthem. the first at the papa murphy's, and the second at facial spa. employees were held at gun point, and deputies look forking a second person --ing looing for a second person -- looking for a second person involved. >. it's the last day of the monsoon, but not giving up without a fight. look at the camera pointed out over the south mountain, and more rain is falling from the clouds. here's what it looks like on abc 15 desert doppler. they're near maricopa and to the west of sun lakes over the last couple of hours. two different cells, neither of

this point, the one near sun lake social security just due west of -- lakes is just due west of i-10, and they're nearly stationary, not making forward progress, and there's another one out to the west. we'll continue to watch it. it's slowly trying to move to the east, and our chance for showers continues at 10 percent fothe valley with a higher chance in the higher terrain. 10 percent through 7 p.m., and once the sun sets we shut it down and dry things out the weekend. we'll talk more about the weekend forecast and the big changes in store for early next week coming up in minutes. you never know what you'll find when you go for a walk in the desert, but the bomb squad is responding to a possible explosive device. someone out for a walk spotted an object that has the makings of a pipe bomb, and they'll run tests on it. do you like to vote in person?

right place to go. voters in tempe are getting election mailers with the wrong polling place. abc 15 is in tempe tonight, and what's going on here jason in -- jason? >> reporter: the polling place is listed here, but in reality it's about a mile down the road on asu's campus. they worry it will chop the turnout on november 8th. there's a certain magic in casting a ballot in person. >> i'm one of those liking to vote in person, but when i got the pamphlet it said the knights building, and i know that was wrong because i'm a member of the knights and they sent us, the county sent us a notice saying they wouldn't need the facility. >> reporter: the maricopa

confirms it was moved to the fitness center on the asu campus. the recorder wasn't available for an interview, but said the materials were printed before the change, and the future materials will be fixed, but a voting advocate is worried there will be confusion. >> every eligible voter needs to be able to vote and know where to vot to the polls. >> reporter: it effects about 4,000 registered voters. >> and i'm worried they're actually going to lose voters instead of gaining voters. >> reporter: now the county recorders office promised to e- mail me a copy of the corrected sample ballot going out to voters 11 days before the election, and they sent me this which unfortunately still has the wrong address. this is for a polling place up in north phoenix, obviously not the polling place we're talking

escalated the scene to the point of overreacted. >. and one person was killed in the deadly unanimously unanimously train crash -- new jersey train crash. today we learned the engineer was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. the investigation continues into what exactly caused the crash. >. a weather alert for you now. matthew strengthening into a category 4 hurricane, and making its way through the caribbean and could go even stronger, and it could pounding jamaica within days. it's the fifth hurricane in the 2016 atlantic hurricane season, and let me show you matthew right now with the tropical tracker, because even though it's headed to the west at this hour, it's expected to take a very sharp turn to the north heading into the weekend. that's going to put it over cuba as possibly a category 2 or 3 storm, and then heads to the bahamas and pushes north.

nuclear power plant, but getting close heading farther to the east, and more activity in the higher terrain to the east and southeast of the valley. lots of lightning streaks as well, and it will continue over the next several hours. breezes picking up too. we're at 93, but the breezes are coming from the north at 15 miles per hour, and deer valley is seeing the most with 16 miles per hour winds with a temperature up there in the 80s. mid-80s in anthem and cave creek, and the rest of the valley cities in the low to mid- 90s at this hour. casa grande checking in at 91. it's 70 in sedona, and 60 in flagstaff, and here's what we expect tonight as the skies clear out in the evening forecast. we dip into the 40s along the rim. 60 in globe and safford, and from the valley to the west it's 70s with highs tomorrow in all these spots in the 90s. sedona hitting 80, flagstaff

in the mid-70s. 70s in the valleys for the lows and 96 for the highs in gilbert and in the west valley 96 in peoria and glendale tomorrow afternoon. sunny and dry tomorrow. temperatures in the 70s in the morning. hitting 90 at lunchtime, and then tomorrow the mid-90s in play. over the the weekend things looking quiet, drier air, but notice to the northwest there's a storm system coming down the california coastline, and that one will send a cold front our way e drop 10 degrees on monday. down to 85. breezes start to pick up on sunday, and get even stronger through the day monday. windy conditions up north as well, and the overnight lows drop 10 degrees as well. so we're down to 60 tuesday morning, and sky harbor is usually the warmest spot, so a lot of other valley spots will be in the 50s early tuesday and wednesday morning. >. a traffic alert for you tonight. construction moving right along on the bell/grand bridge.
