handle -- crews saying they have a good handle on it. a deedily crash leading to a traffic mess rights now in scottsdale. cactus closed to the 101. a rider on the motorcycle, the one killed. the driver of the car in the hospital. the area is expected to be closed for several more hours. two kinds of friday night lights during a valley football game tonight. the ones on the field, the flashing police lights just feet away from it. >> jon erickson is live, and somebody was hit by a car there tonight? >> reporter: and katie, we have learned that this crash turned fatal. the man hit here on tatum has died. he was walking from right to left across the screen on tatum on the way to a high school football game. scottsdale christian academy just to the left side of the screen, and this is graphic, not gore, gory, but this is the suv that hit the man.

police don't believe the driver was impaired or think the driver was speeding. the football game did go on as the investigation continued here. you can see that tatum is still shut down, but before that game was over, we had learned that the man had unfortunately passed away, so unfortunately he was on the way to a high school football game and never made it, and instead tonight, steve and katie, he died. back to you. >> just an awful thing for his family. thank you so much. pictures from mesa. abc 15 first on scene of a robbery at the ampm. police investigating if the robber fired shots inside. drinking and driving and hitting a police cruiser in the process? cops say a driver they believe was drunk caused all this damage around 6:30 tonight near 17th and union hills. fortunately nobody was hurt here. for some reason it's a call

nights. shots fired, and that's the case near 51st and camelback. police are investigate. protests outside san diego after police release the full video of when they shot and killed a man who used to live right here in the valley. the officer fires four shots almost immediately after the man raised his hands, and took what was described as a shooting stance. prosecutors are still reviewing the case. and late tonight police in charlotte say all of the dash cam and body cam video from the deadly shooting that sparked riots in their city. that could happen as soon as next week once the family of keith scott gets to see it first. here in our state this new body camera video seems to make it clear, but is this moment enough to justify officers opening fire in kingman? nohelani graf just getting an expert said of eyes on this one. >> reporter: so, steve, in general officers are trained if

if we rewind a bit you can clearly see the guys casing the place here. the one in red shorts appears to call the other to bring him closer once the coast is clear. now the homeowner tells abc 15 they waited for her to make a grocery store run to strike, and got in through a locked window and stole about $12,000 worth of stuff. a prescott valley woman blamed for the death of her own child. angela clark is accused of second-degree murder. we're told she left the little girl in a full bathtub for more than 25 minutes alone. it happened saturday, the child was taken off life support three days later. >. new at 10:00, a valley mother's cry for justice. her daughter's body simply dumped as police hunt for the killer. kim tobin is talking to the mom who's reliving the last moments she had with her daughter. >> reporter: sump a heart

whatever she can as she prepares to lay to rest her daughter. >> i keep hearing her voice in my head saying she's with me and she loves me. and i know she's here with me. >> reporter: in buckeye, kim tobin, abc 15 news. just in, the punishment handed down to scottsdale police officers for the video you're seeing right now. retired mesa cop, arrested for dui, and when he went to jail, surveillance shows him being allowed past a door that no prisoners beyond this point. the discipline ranges from a 40- hour suspension to a demotion. >. drama in the desert, a device found in maricopa just a couple of steps away from being an actual pipe bomb, and right now they're testing for fingerprints to try and track down who made it greet the store's slogan is rolling back -- made it. the store's slogan is rolling back prices, but this

one of our abc 15 valley cams spotting rain near queen creek this evening. looking at desert doppler right now, nothing to track across central arizona, so no more rain in the bucket for this monsoon. the totals are now official. sky harbor 2.49 inches and the valley average is 1.16 inches. overall both totals close to a quarter inch below average for monsoon 2016. we'll take a closer look at neighborhood totals and let you know if there's the days ahead coming up. shep went to the store -- she went to the store for a gallon of milk, but ended up risking letter life for her purse. a man threw her down and took off with her purse, but even with her broken back she chased him back to his car. >> >. and i'm glad i wasn't in the car any longer because i probably could have done some damage to him because i was getting angrier by the second. >> >. the man was arrested and

breaking now, matthew becoming a category 5 high pressure, the strongest in the -- hurricane. the strongest in the atlantic since 2007. it's already making land fall in venezuela, where they're trying to dry out from floods previously. now here's the path of storm. it's taking a sharp curve to the north over the weekend, and bending to the north crossing cuba as a category 3, and then by tuesday evening downgrading to a category 2 into wednesday as well. still a lo the path of storm after that. it could hit the east coast or get pushed farther offshore, so stay with us and tomorrow on good morning america for update ons this storm. back out live in in mesa, and that robbery near country club at a gas station, and we're working to find out if the robber had a gun or they used it.

monsoon season, but look at glendale and scottsdale and gilbert, those spots over three inches of rain, more than we got at sky harbor for the monsoon season. right now 84 degrees as we start to dry out. dewpoints still in the mid-50s, but they'll dry out over the weekend. winds at 6 miles per hour. much of the valley in the 80s. anthem and cave creek in the upper 70s at this hour. buckeye's at 77. glendale at 82 and tempe at 84 degrees. here's a look across the state and to more 80s for casa grande and gila bend. up to the north 56 in prescott. 68 in kingman. flagstaff at 46. lows tonight along the rim dropping into the 40s. the skies clearing out state- wide, and payson, sedona and prescott in the mid-50s. tomorrow globe at 86, safford at 88. the valley out to the west in the 90s, and temperatures right around 67 degrees in the flagstaff area for tomorrow. here's a look at the valley and

more or less near normal. 95 in mesa and 94 in chandler and tempe, and peoria and glendale hitting 96. avondale, goodyear at 95 for tomorrow, and the morning looking fantastic. we're going to be in the 70s through 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. at 86, no 90s until lunchtime, and then in the afternoon the low to mid-90s across the valley as the sunshine continues and the winds generally stay light. here's the changes we're tracking, pretty big for the start of next week. things look quiet here, but out to the northwest a big storm system dipping down the california coastline through the weekend forecast. we're going to start to pick up the breezes late sunday, and then monday very breezy if not windy. most of northern arizona incredibly windy as a cold front with the system comes in. to front dropping us 10-degrees for the start of next week, and
