at least six lives in florida as that storm continues to move over battling the carolinas and georgia, we've got a live look now. >> good morning, matthew is now bringing a tornado watch to parts of the carolinas, it's hard to believe that just 24 hours ago here winds were so strong you could barely move. the storm downing trees and worse, and it all continues heading north. th havoc as it moves up the coast. overnight, matthew bringing deafening rain, storm surge and destruction to south carolina. downing trees and driving cars off the road. an erie light show on this highway as multiple power lines explode of the the powerful category 2 hurricane has weakened but continues to show its force. states of emergency declared in georgia, south carolina and

see all of the aftermath, abc nick ciletti is looking at our local forecast. allison, as a matter of fact i looked at abc 15 desert doppler, we are seeing some shower activity pop up in the far west valley, here is the wide picture, can you see this is what it looks like starting to see heavier cells, even a popup along i-10, this is west of the 303 mind this morning we could also see it be more widespread heading into the east valley, that is something i will continue to keep a close eye on for you. meantime let's talk about the most accurate forecast by the hour for you, temperature 77 degrees right now at sky harbor, 85 by 10:00. 89 by noon. temperatures in the upper 80s, low 90sed to right about where we should be but we could be seeing a warmup happen later

there has been trapped across the vote waiting until the crime tape goes done. we reached out to glendale police but they reason given details right now. witnesses are telling what they saw. a man started shooting at a white car, that car taking off but then another vehicle started shooting in the air. from there a man started that shooting fires back at that vehicle and somehow in the midst of the vehicle and another person inside the car was struck. all that coming from witnesses, but again police not giving those details out yet. officers telling people stuck here it is going to be quite awhile. maybe around 6:30-7:00 in the morning. how that victim is doing and also if there is a shooter or shooters in custody or a search right now for them. we are working to get those

cave. u.s. marshals happened to make an arrest after a brutal attack and robbery, a woman punched in the face before getting her purse stolen, and officers say this is the man who did it, james pryor junior smiling on that shot. a search warrant finding items related to the crime as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia. well he is accused of stabbing a guy in the head then turning on his friends who were recording entire thing their car. tempe police busting 28-year- old halal after he went after a guy be the street. then he used the same screw driver to scratch up the car and poke holes. even fighting with officers and firefighters who responded.

shower activity, even some lightning, too, crew in the west valleys are reporting they are seeing some lightning, too. that is something we'll keep a close eye on. here is the weather pattern, starting to see the system move in from the east, you can see some clouds along with t moisture firing up from the south. we probably will see some clear, here are the rain chances by the hour, 30% chance really for most of the morning, for part of the afternoon we are going to knock that down to a 20%, after that i think we are going to knock it down 10% chance of showers, so that threat of shower activity not going away, the by the morning is most likely. hurricane matthew still churning in the atlantic. can you see off the coast of south carolina and georgia, what is happening later tonight it is going to jut out into the atlantic and it does that kind of weird loop around move going back out to sea, loop back down around as a low pressure system and that is where right now it

all right. we say good morning to you, nick ciletti. allison rodriguez is here with a quick lick at hurricane matthew. let's talk about our local most accurate forecast. this is the i-10 and southern. we are starting to see some showers happening, mostly in the west valley this morning but keeping a close eye on the roads for you to make sure they are not getting too slick. let's talk about abc 15 desert doppler, as i said we are seeing most activity, even some lightning happening in the west valley south of the i-10 and good year but also north of there, too, heading north and west pass the 303, also seeing some pockets pop up in the east valley, we will hold on to the storm chances for you throughout the morning. let's talk about hurricane matthew briefly, downgraded to a category 1 still strong, still packing winds of 85-90 miles per hour of the can you see exactly where it's located hovering over parts of georgia,

they are really getting nailed right now, can you see all of those bonds of yellow and orange. that is the heavier rain right now that is just starting to make its way to the north and it's tracking to the west, too. so we are keeping a close eye on the track of this from our satellite and radar. meantime allison, you have more of the human angle of how exactly matthew is impacting millions of people throughout the southeast right now. >> well, yeah, nick as you mentioned, even as hurricane matthew weakens to a category 1 six lives have bn the care rebeen way more, we are talking hundreds. 1 million people without power. hard to imagine rain and winds that strong all across the florida, georgia, the carolinas right now, hundreds of thousands there dealing with all of this right now, a lot of power outages going on there. you see the destruction in this video, did you see the car buried there, trees blown over, roads are flooded.

us some specific details a man open fired on one car, that car taking off, another vehicle starting firing, started firing in the air. the man returning fire to them and somehow another vehicle got in the middle of all this and someone was shot according to that witness. we reached out to glendale police, especially how the victim is doing and if a shooter or shooters are on the loose this morning, we are still wait to go hear back from them but we still have a strong police presence, live and just moments ago we saw a handful of people walk across the street because dozens of people are trapped over here because can't get to their cars inside, any of the drivers come with me this way, many people have been trapped here for hours. back to you. >> meghan thompson reporting there for us, thank you. investigation going on inside phoenix pd, sources telling abc 15 it involves a new officer's behavior toward a 16-year-old girl.

and here are the allegations against this person, now the officer was on duty, flirting with a 16-year-old at a gas statn. that girl is the daughter of a homicide victim but this case was not related to how they met. the officer gave her his number and the girl's family got upset. it's against department policy to turn on the job meetings into something personal. the girl is under age. the officer resigned on tuesday. phoenix police not able to comment this morning. it's a problem we see all too often, cases of animal hoarding, it's estimated as many as 2000 new cases pop up every year across the country. well now the phoenix city council looking to take action on this one, they want to make it illegal to have ten or more animals only if the living conditions are not suitable. a committee is going to consider that change next wednesday. a horse rescue and a woman thankful after volunteers and
