dot cameras. abc15 keating harner is live to break this down. katie there were reports that a trooper was injured. is that the case? >> chris, one trooper has a nag -- and injure as this -- the suspect try to drive right at him. the deadly shooting happened just down from where we are at at the 56 exit right there you can see this started last night off of i-10 when dps tried to pull the suspect over. he took off going more than 100 miles an hour and that led to a very lengthy chase and over to the 60 back to the 101 and here is where dps used spike strips to try to slow him down which made him mad because that's when he drove at the trooper who barely got out of the way.

hear me i'm just south of mcdowell and 19th street and what we're seeing here and standing on a box because it so hard to get a good angle you see that mangled car, that was part of this collision. at least two people were taken to the hospital. we have dps out here. i've seen flashes of cameras. the investigators i should say taking pictures out here trying to figure out what happened. i did get brand new and dps is telling me around 3:00 a.m. troopers were trying to find a crash near the many stack 151 and i-10. one of the troopers responding was involved in a crash 15 minutes later. he was not hurt but two people in the other car were taken to the hospital with what was first reported as minor injuries and that is the latest information but you want to avoid this area. i will continue to e-mail with

crash. you can see a car just wrapped around a tree. policing the damage is so extensive it is hard to make out exactly what model of cars these are. i can tell you these two cars were street racing down central and at some point they touched and that's when the two veered off separate sides one hit a wall and that one is wrapped around the tree. two people one person died here on the scene. the other two people were taken to the hospital in extremely vertical condition. those two folks are not expected to survive. they were just doing desperate measures and grabbing fire extinguishers and trying to put the fire out and get the victims away from the car. a very sad situation but if you need to take central around butler it is shut down in all directions.
