let you know what we learn. this morning we expect criminal charges will be filed against sheriff joe arpaio, saying he violated court orders. >> katie connor is breaking it down for us. couldn't come at a worse time for the sheriff. >> reporter: no, it couldn't. early voting starts today and he is up for reelection. he's been sheriff here in the county for more than two decades and it's a tight race at the end of the day, voters have to decide if they can reelect joe arpaio. his attorney says he violated the orders but it was not intentional. >> over 50 years in law enforcement, he's been a dedicated public servant. i'm representing him and the voters will do what they want. >> the fact of the matter is he

explosives left behind in a backpack at the police station. the bag was left outside the station and an officer brought it inside, then realized what was inside that bag and called the bomb squad. police in nearby shopping centers at both facilities evacuated. the bomb squad use robots to dismantle materials are still being analyzed at this moment. back at home, a two-car crash last night at 16th street and glendale shut down westbound glendale and northbound 16th street. they are waiting for the tow trucks there to clear that scene. i think he's going to burglarize that vehicle. >> that is officer chris

. welcome back, 4:44 as we take a live look outside. the sun is not up till after 6:30 this morning but temperatures are 70 degrees now. how much further we'll drop before we warm back up this afternoon, coming up in the most accurate forecast. this is new video of flooding from nichols, south carolina. it's about 10 miles north of the carolina state line there. this week 150 people out of the town with a population of 400, 150 of them were rescued from the rising waters.

all the roads near the area in and around the city, this footage showing the entire town unfortunately underwater. this will make you want to call your loved ones. a grandson in nebraska wanted to check on his grandmother after hurricane matthew so he ordered her a pizza. when the delivery guy got to the door, the special instructions said to call the grandson's phone number. he handed the phone to the she was so surprised and happy to hear from her grandson. the thing about this, the grandson was calling and couldn't get ahold of her, so he wanted to make sure he was okay. so he called papa john's. >> got to love it. we fact check candidates during the debates and nobody thought we'd have to fact check donald trump here:

up this morning, nothing but clear skies. we are clear across the valley and that is making for a great start to the day with cooler temperatures. maybe you have plans to get out early this morning. keep in mind the sun doesn't come up till 6:31. and it will be perfect if you want to get out early for a bike ride, morning run even. temperatures in the valley are down in the 60s to near 70 degrees. phoenix is officially 70 with clear skies but check out mesa, tempe, mid- to upper 60s right now, 68 currently in tempe with those clear skies. i think we'll drop a couple more degrees. even if you don't head out till closer to the 7:00 hour, our temperatures will still be down

and still nice by 8:00, back up to 72 degrees with clear skies in the forecast through the morning. we have clear skies in the valley and really across the state here this morning a we are off to a dry start. believe it or not, we're tracking a disturbance moving across the state today. you'll see it bringing clouds to california. it will bring a few clouds to our state including the valley by this evening. that is it. we won't see any rain from it. over the next few days, watch a train of storm systems work through the northwest. they look to stay north of our state so our forecast is still looking dry through the end of the week and the weekend. that system moves through today and we'll see a few high clouds developing by late afternoon and into the evening before they clear off to the east. tomorrow sunny and dry, and friday we'll see a few high

friday or through the weekend. if you have outdoor plans this weekend, you should be okay. it will be dry and a little warm each afternoon. we'll hit the low to mid-90s pretty much across the valley, phoenix at 95 this afternoon. highs in the 80s in sedona, upper 70s in spots like payson. for the seven-day temperatures stay in the 90s through the weekend but overnight lows get even cooler. by the weekend we have lows in the upper 60s. more on the air quality in a few minutes. take a look at the roads right now, i-17 just about 16 minutes from the 101 heading southbound to the i-10 stack.
