ended another car. the driver of the car wasn't hurt. the bikers are expected to be okay. swimming with dolphins in the desert? yeah. starting today you can do just that at a new exhibit in scottsdale. not everyone is happy about it. mary ellen is joining us inside the acare yum. a lot of people excited for this one, but not everyone. they want to make sure that their voices are heard. >> reporter: that's right. there will be planned today. one at 9:00 a.m. and one at 4:00 p.m. we are live at dolphinaris. they are set to open the doors in about an hour. they have eight bottlenosed dot fins. four females and four males. they boast four different experiences here from $60 to $400 to be a trainer for the

saying they feel this is animal abuse, we spoke to a manager at dolphinaris and he says the animals have only known captivity. >> each one of these dolphins were born in human care. they are second or third generation bottlenosed dolphins. some 75% in the u.s. were born in human care. so we're very excited. they have only known the love and care of trainers and veterinarians their entire lives. >> reporter: now, protesters may be at the exit ramps and the entrance ramps of the loop 101, it is not really deterring people from coming here. they have a booked schedule today. so if you want to come on down to dolphinaris, make sure that you make reservations first. doors, open at 9:00 a.m. we're live at dolphinaris, abc 15 news. a neighborhood push is on to close an alley in a phoenix

the alley before jumping over walls to get two to young girls. he exposed himself to those two young girls last month. you can see the suspect on the surveillance video. now, tom brandel is a neighbor there and he is among the effort to shut the alley down. two-thirds of the neighbors have to sign off and then the city has to agree. he wants a metal gate put up to block it off. in the meante his yard with a gun. >> this is a nice neighborhood and the criminal highway goes right through the middle. >> the suspect is still on the loose this morning. we are waiting to find out if charges will be filed after a crash in glendale sent four people to the hospital in bad shape. a truck slammed into a car. a man and a woman left in extremely critical condition. two teens in the back were also

firefighters could cut them open. witnesses say it was the sound of the crash that really grabbed their attention. >> i was riding my bike and i heard this -- you know, with the rail. and i turn around and that car that was over there earlier, it hit the rail and got stuck. >> the driver of the hit that hit them walked off in handcuffs to be tested for dui. we're waiting to learn if charges will follow. switching gears here. people on the east coast are still effects of hurricane matthew. we're learning that the death toll has claimed. a man was found drowned in his home in south carolina, making five deaths in the state. authorities say the man refused to leave his home when rescuers warned him that two rivers near the town were rising fast. hurricane matthew now responsible for at least 41 deaths in the u.s. and more than 500 in haiti. meanwhile, strong winds and

northwest here this morning, knocking down trees that are now blocking roads and causing power outages. and you can see just how bad it is getting in areas. dozens of neighborhoods dealing with flooding. this is video from portland. thousands of homes there are without power right now as utility crews prepare for what is expected to be another busy day today. the winds so strong in some parts a pair of tornadoes actually touched down in some of those areas. you. after these tornadoes touched down, here is some perspective. the national weather service in portland have only issued 13 tornado warnings between 1986 and 2015. that's it. just 13. yesterday alone, they issued ten warnings and two of those were confirmed tornadoes. >> yeah. just astounding to hear you put it like that, iris. in the meantime a manhunt underway in san francisco after

officer. the officer grazed by a bullet in the head. this all happening in the sunset district. police are now canvassing that area. and reporters with our abc station in the bay area saying that hospital is on lockdown this morning as that officer is being treated. this may be hard to watch. disturbing dash cam video released from the chicago police department showing a violent encounter with a suspect. they were trying to arrest huff when he attacked the female officer. he slammed her to the ground, grabbed her hair and repeatedly hit her. >> she knew that she should shoot this guy. because she didn't want the family or the department to go through the scrutiny the next day on national news. >> that is tough to watch. the officer remains in the hospital with a serious head injury. as for the suspect, police saying to us this morning that he was high on pcp.

the families involved in a deadly sandy hook shooting. a judge friday struck down a lawsuit the victims' families have brought against the manufacturer used in the attack. the judge said a 2005 law passed by congress prevents these kinds of civil suits. but attorneys for the families argued there is an exception in the law. 26 people died in that 2012 attack, including 20 children. turning now to a new disturbing report on gun violence. a young child is killed or injured in an accidental shooting in the u.s. every single day. accidental shootings claim the lives of 113 kids in 2014. the associated press and "usa today" working with a nonprofit to confirm these numbers. advocacy groups arguing that guns, all guns should be child proof. in our wildfire watch this morning, a path of destruction in nevada. a wildfire burning more than

homes already. and right now, 500 structures are threatened. as strong winds are making things worse. people are forced to evacuate. between reno and carson city. the fire starting where a controlled burn was set earlier. so far no containment. 7 past the hour. he has been dubbed the world's most notorious drug leader. we are finding out how soon el chapo could be sent he could be extradited as early as january or february of next year. he escaped not once but twice from prison, sparking an international manhunt. america fell in love with his red hair, funny nose and floppy shoes. now ronald mcdonald is being side lined. mcdonalds will refrain from using the cheerful mascot at community events in response to creepy clown sightings.

there are several closures and restrictions this weekend on the valley freeways. the first one is out in the west valley on i-10 eastbound. that is down to just one lane east of loop 303. 10:00 p.m. friday until 5:00 a.m. on monday. you will see delays there. take side streets to get around that. in the east valley, a closure on 202. this is westbound from cooper to price road. basically the friday 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on saturday. take germane to get around there. restrictions on state route 347. there are a couple other things to watch out for on the roads this weekend. so head to abc15.com for a list. all right. time for your most accurate forecast. the time right now is 8:15. if you are just waking up with us, nice and clear skies. here as we kick off our saturday morning. looking live with our mayo

if you are heading out this morning to do piking, going for a walk, it feels good out there. know that the temperature is starting to climb again. we did drop earlier into the 60s in phoenix. now we're back up to 70 degrees with light winds coming out of east at 6 miles per hour. glendale is also back into the 70s. scottsdale at 71. we still have the 60s in spots like chandler and mesa and also in the west valley. goodyear checking in at 66 degrees. we will continue to warm here but you still have time it if you want to get outdoors before the 90s set n70 now. we will warm to 76 by 9:00. then the 80s start to set back in by 10:00 this morning. we will stay in the 80s even through the lunch hour, with that noon temperature right at 89, before the 90s start to set in. we have clear skies in the valley. and all clear in the high country too. here is a view from our casino live cam. this is near camp verdict e.

we have clear skies if you're traveling up to the high country for the weekend. looking clear for your drive up. 64 in sedona. a nice 55 in flagstaff. low 70s currently in bullhead city. light winds acrossmost of the state. light breezes in shiloh. we will get warmer winds later this afternoon. gusts coming in out of the southwest around 25 to 30 miles per hour. some breezes up north, passing high clouds up north too. but all clear in the valley. over the next couple of days, we will be watching storm systems moving into the pacific northwest. we told you about the damage they're causing in those areas. for us, the storm track will stay to the north as storms continue to move into the region. we will not see them impact our state. we will just see clouds spilling in at times. again, feel breezes up north. otherwise dry conditions. and you will notice futurecast is working. i promise.
