. we are staying on top of breaking news now. dozens of firefighters on scene a major house fire happening near 12th street and indian school. mary ellen is live for us there. i know you just got to the scene but what are out? >> well, this is actually homes, a set of duplexes. let me take you to where this is happening. one is completely destroyed with fire. there are three others with smoke damage in them. we just spoke with sfeeks fire. they said when they arrived this was fully involved.

for the most part everyone made it out okay. they did transport somebody to the hospital. they are not sure if the person resides in the homes or not. the homeowner of the actual home that burned was found about half a mile away. . >> they had a lot of little challenges to that. they are h a trans foer sparking and power lines they were running over. unusual twists and turns in this environment. >> we're going to check back in with her at 5:30. she's working sources to get us an update. >> there's still a lot of information to be found there. for now, we want to check in on weather because it's shaping up to be a gorgeous day. >> nice, cool conditions as we look outside. this is the state fair

still closed now. many of you probably saw these flames last night or at least the plume of smoke filling the sky. this morning fire crews still on scene after putting out this massive fire in gilbert. an apartment complex near gilbert road under construction. somehow went up in flames. we're told about five buildings were destroyed. nobody living here so nobody hurt but firefighters say that makes their battle that much >> large buildings like this, three story under construction buildings and the heat coming off of them is tremendous. there's so much exposed wood it becomes a massive plume of smoke and fire. >> crews are expected to be out there for days making sure there are no more flair ups. no word yet on what may have sparked the flames. many of you getting our mobile alerts about the fire and it probably sparked a memory that's because this is

this year. this of course was the scene in april when a five alarm fire erupted near warner and gilbert roads. more than 100 firefighters called to put out the flames also at an apartment site. federal agents getting involved to investigate this scene. officials determined this fire most likely started by a rooferer's torch. it's known for its mexican culture but this morning it's the center of a and now we have learned two victims are from right here in the valley. a man driving his truck off the san diego bridge landing on a crowd gathered for a festival. four people died including a 62- year old man and a 50-year old woman from chandler. we're still working to find out their names this morning. eight other people were injured. one of them remains in serious condition. the driver is a 25-year old member of the navy based in

authorities say he may have been driving under the influence when he hit a guardrail losing control of the vehicle. a bad night for people out for a walk. phoenix police searching for the driver of a hit-and-run that left a 61-year old woman dead. that's happening in camel back. witnesses describing the car that police are looking for as a 2008 silver chevy impa la. let's go north from there to 35th avenue in dunlap. a 27-year old man and an eight- year old boy and two-year old hit in this one. all of them in the hospital this morning with serious injuries. we're told they were not walking in the crosswalk. as for the driver, he stayed on scene and police say he was sober. that may not be the case at our third scene but we're not talking about the driver in this one. a guy hit while crossing the street near 27th avenue and

critical condition now. investigators believe that guy walking may have been under the influence. keep an eye out for an abc 15 mobile alert as soon as we learn more. new information in the deadly stabbing in phoenix. one person is now in custody. officers say the suspect is from the knife attack friday night. he's being charged with second degree murder. the two got in a fight near 18th a 17-year old is the main suspect in a murder. police responded to a report of a 25-year old man shot in rim rock who died at the scene. the 17-year old ran from the scene but was later caught and arrested. a glendale woman waking up to a pounding at her door to get out. her neighbor noticed the fire first. glendale fire sending us this video telling us the woman and

one was destroyed by fire. the other three have heavy smoke damage. firefighter s are having trouble finding everyone who lives in this place. there's a lot of traffic coming in and out but so far they have been able to find one victim. that is the woman who owned the place that actually burned. she told firefighters that she was in bed just before this all happened. listen to what they said she told them. >> she was laying in bed. heard a loud noise and then that awokened her and she saw a fire. she was able to safely escape. . >> now, there's one other woman found about a block away. firefighters are still trying to figure out whether or not she lives at the four plex or not. she was taken to the hospital

now, that homeowner actually toltdz firefighters that she owned several cats and a dog and she made it out one one of her pets. firefighters believe that the other perished in the fire. live in phoenix, mary ellen residez, abc15 news. firefighters and gas crews called to the scene near 25th avenue and northern. businesses on both sides of the road evacuated for an underground leak. no word yet on what crews found out. a heartbreaking update to the crash on 59th avenue and camel back. we have learned two teens died at the hospital and police say the driver of the car may have been drinking. four people were inside that car when it crashed with a truck. a third person in the car also hurt but they are expected to survive. the driver of the truck was

we're still working to find out if he's facing charges. also in glendale, a man and woman thrown from a motorcycle in a crash near 67th avenue and northern. a 21-year old woman riding on the back died on the scene. the driver in the hospital with serious injuries. cops say he may have been impaired. in san francisco an officer fighting to stay alive this morning. officials say he's in critical condition after being shot in the head as he was responding to a disturbance call. a shooting at police. the other cops shot and hurt the man. he's now waking up behind bars. the. the investigation continues this morning into a shoot out at a party. two victims still in bad shape. this happened during a house party in a jamaican restaurant in la. a man and woman left the home after getting into an argument with another guest. they later returned and opened fire.

but so far no arrests. an incredible video out of massachusetts. the dramatic rescue of a woman from her sinking suv. police say the 68-year old woman was trying to back into a parking spot when she drove over a curb sending the car into a nearby pond. as the vehicle sank, a man swam towards it yelling you got to come out of there. the sufficient slips below the surface and the man yells "i lost her." th and she was safely pulled from the water and taken to the hospital. >> that was stunning video. thieves breaking in to steal bulldogs. they used a sledge hammer to burst through the dog. they get in and head straight for the dog kennel. they got away with four english bulldogs and two french bulldogs.

$3,000. two cars were stopped in traffic in florida when a man got out to argue with another driver. shots were fired. one of them hit and killed and deputies still sorting through the evidence. crews spending the day in florida with state and local leaders to survey damage of hurricane matthew. the results were then gathered to determine each county's eligibility for help. residents and businesses starting the clean up process but it wil until things get close to normal. the hurricane impacting so many lives. one photographer is helping new moms who gave birth during the storm. lauren young was pregnant when she evacuated with her mother and one year old son. she had to leave her husband behind because he's a firefighter. in all the chaos she forgot to take pictures of her newborn so a photographer is offering free photos for babies born during

moms were going through. as a newborn photographer i thought there was a way i would help. she takes the pictures of the newborns neks to hurricane damage representing renewal and birth in the middle of chaos. major damage in the pacific northwest now after a powerful storm ripped through the area. at least two tornados touched down and there's also major flooding. people there are still dealing with this destruction. trees and see all down as heavy rain continues to pour down, even this morning. all of this coming from remnants of a typhoon. a boy and his dad were hurt friday after a large tree fell on them. no other injuries have been reported though. this morning u.s. officials are looking into another missile incident near yemen. a top navy official says missile may have been fired at a warship in the red sea. now it's confirmed this is the
