the only lights are our tv lights and it's confusing enough for the drivers with all the construction going on. take a look at the video from just a short time ago. this is the suv that hit the bicyclist and then you see the bicycle as well. there were beer cans all over the road when we arrived. unopened beer cans. those were the bicyclists and he is a regular at a store near by. deputies do say that bicyclist is now fighting for his life. as far as whether or not the driver will face any charges deputies here not provide any additional information. >> we also have breaking news out of tucson right now a shooting involving a police officer and road are shut down. there's an active investigation. this is near 36th street and park. we don't know yet if anyone is hurt. our sister station kagan does have a crew on this. we will check in on them to bring you the latest. >> this is a good thing this thing isn't bigger. a brush fire burning tonight

back to our weather alert. the east valley still nice and dry but the showers have popped up in the east valley just in the last 30 minutes or so. hitting gilbert first before heading to mesa. and then we have a pockets of heavier rain out near fountain hills that we're watching at this hour as well.

north and northeast. quite a show as you look to the north. we can see a lot of these lightning strikes up there along the i17 near camp verde and farther to the north to that i40 corridor between williams. we'll be watching that over the next half hour for you. we have more action out to the east watch along the rim across southeast arizona a few lighter showers and western portions of our state stl radar tonight. gusty winds and lots of lightning over 100 strikes near that lake havisu area among the most recent update. futurecast keeps a lot of this going up in the higher terrain for the next several hours as we go into that overnight forecast. tomorrow late morning early afternoon. maybe a little bit more. along portions of the rim. looks drier the sun is going to peak through a lot more than we saw today. going into the next couple of days high pressure is is going

futurecast shows here. once it does temperatures are going to soar once again. we still hit 90 degrees this afternoon. wednesday at 94. by thursday 97 will put it in record territory that forecast is just one degree shy of thursday's record. in addition to that today marked the 20th day in a row with temperatures at 90 or warmer for this month. the record 21 set back in october of 1991. we're going to tie tomorrow and we're going to break it by the end of the week. now there's not enough days in the end of the month to break the second record but we will be close. 90 or more 21 days total this month the record is 29 set back in 1952. a lot of 90s still to come. right now we're at 82. temperatures across the valley ranging from the upper 70s in the east valley to the low to mid-80s in the west valley. 55 in flagstaff.
