happening now, new developments at the scene of a stabbing. the crime turning deadly and what police are saying now about the killer. plus, tried, convicted and waiting to be sentenced. the punishment a valley man could get for plotting to set off a bomb at the super bowl. and what's behind the newest delay at chase field? police are now a suspect in a deadly stabbing. that happened overnight near 63rd avenue and camelback. allison rodriguez has the latest. >> reporter: all this happened at the home behind me where you see the trailer. police say this happened about 3:30 a.m. two men who lived in the home got into a fight. at some point the suspect

sort and stabbed the 39-year- old victim. that guy was taken to the hospital and unfortunately he was pronounced dead. the 53-year-old suspect then took off on a bicycle. police say they have been called to the home before for domestic violence issues. police are also saying the two men had not gotten along in the past. >> sounds like this was an ongoing situation. unfortunately tonight it led to deadly results. >> reporter: multiple people live in that home and police continue they investigate why the two men started fighting in the first place. right now a teenager is being booked, accused of a shooting earlier this month in peoria. the 15-year-old faces armed robbery charges for the october 12th shooting during a drug deal. that victim is going to be okay. after a r.n. near 10th avenue and jefferson,

police are looking for an older white model car that drove away from the scene. the driver backed away then hit the victim as that man continued to follow the car. police are searching for a killer after a passenger and driver were found shot inside their cars near 32nd avenue and roosevelt. >> thought maybe it was backfire. but no. >> going crazy. we thought the car was actually on fire. it was just like really bad. >> the victims are both men and their names have not been released. police are asking for any tips to help with the case. a warning in the west valley right now. crews are working a brush fire near 171st avenue and chandler heights road. air 15 was over the scene last

australian theme park went wrong. the thunder river ride malfunctioned, throwing some people and trapping overs underneath. horrified witnesses describing to us the chaos after the incident. >> we just heard that the guys in front of them flipped off. like they turned around and saw the whole thing flip over and heard everyone screaming. she came out crying and two people that work here away. >> investigators are trying to understand what caused that raft to flip on the conveyor belt. the park is now closed. in roanoke, virginia, two people are dead after a workplace shooting. the shooter took his own life and police are trying to figure out what the motive was. they believe the shooter was an exemployee of the company. three other people were injured. a bicyclist has life-

temperatures are warming slowly, 85 degrees at phoenix sky harbor, low 80s in mesa, 82 in goodyear and glendale at 86 degrees. the desert doppler is all in the clear. we have been tracking a few showers up to our north this morning but off. going through the afternoon, most of us are drying out. just a slight chance we could see a shower or thunderstorm going into the afternoon. chances around 20% for that northern pocket, areas along i- 40. the rest of us looking to dry out and over the next few days, we're tracking high pressure, keeping storms away from our state. it also means warmer

way. plan on a few isolated showers up north. by this evening i think things are clearing up. here in the valley, mostly clear skies and dry through the afternoon. then tomorrow mostly sunny and dry, and thursday still looking dry before we see a little more cloud cover by the end of the week. with high pressure setting in, that means temperatures will get warmer. today we may get up to 91 degrees by mid- 3:00, 4:00, i expect we'll see the high temperature. still several degrees below the record high of 94. going into tomorrow, we're up to 94, nearly 10 degrees above average. that's still below the record of 98. by thursday that will be the warmest day of the week as our high warms to 97. the record on thursday is 98 degrees. we'll have to be on record watch because we could come

newscast. we have a crime alert, an old crime making a comeback. gas thieves are leaving a trail of victims in mesa but also a trail of evidence. surveillance pictures we are just getting our hands on. >> reporter: as quickly as you can fill your gas tank, crooks can suck it right back out. police say this guy did it in the middle of the night at an apartment complex. pulls siphon, and pretends to check his own truck. 75 gallons of diesel drained from a truck driver. the owner of precision mms a fighting back after being hit more than once. >> we park our vans super close so it's hard to get in between the two vans. >> reporter: in a matter of minutes, a guy pulls up, carries over a container.

in fact we'll keep the mostly clear skies in the forecast here in the phoenix area. up to our north, possible rainstorms and thunderstorm chances, about a 20% chance. tonight things clear out statewide. by tomorrow even more sunshine, and staying dry really through thursday for much of the state. by the end of the week, we get a boost in moisture. that will be in part what is currently hurricane seymour. it is well off in the pacific and won't impact land directly. we'll have some moisture mainly in southern california. we could get a chance of showers by friday and through the weekend. for now could see a few more clouds in the valley by friday but not really seeing rain chances. we'll keep you posted if that
