danger. he may be heading toward miami or new mexico. please call police if you spot them. happening overnight in phoenix police are on the hunt for a gunman who opened fire leaving one person with life- threatening wounds. let's head out to abc15's maryellen resendez who was the first on the scene near 19th avenue and is live do we know how the victims are doing right now? >> reporter: we do not have exact confirmation as to whether he is still alive or not. homicide detectives have arrived on the scene and we are told he is still fighting for his life as far as they know. we could see detectives speaking with witnesses, and we can see that there are gun shells. here is what we know happened so far as neighbors heard

he stole loaded gift cards from walmart. they >> reporter: the clerks by saying they would pay in cash and once the card was loaded they would run off. stock there's been talk about the dakota access pipeline. this morning the keystone pipeline is a topic of conversation. mitch mcconnell once -- would like donald trump to get construction going. mr. trump the project. it would run from canada to texas. at least three dozen arrests have happened at the dakota access pipeline site. things are moving forward however the development right now is the company for the project said it will suspend some of the work to help diffuse attention and help cover police costs. the u.s. army corps of engineers has been trying to get these results for some time.

chris christie bridgegate scandal. they have filed a motion to get a new trial. they were convicted last week of fraud and conspiracy for closing down the bridge in 2013. prosecutors are saying they did this as retaliation against a democratic mayor. chris christie was not charged and denies knowing anything about the bridge getting shut down. allison has some good news. >> i do. it'll be another nice day for us here. and little bit warmer than average. was take a look at that morning forecast. by 9 a.m. 60s degrees and sunny by lunchtime sitting in the 70s and into the afternoon that is when the warm-up continues. we are going to be 6 degrees above average today but they are on record watch this week. we will tell you how hot it

kidnapped last night at a circle k. police say 39-year- old david fuller took them and is said to be one of the girls fathers. he was driving a black chrysler sebring. he may be armed. the kids are considered to be in danger this morning. officers believe fuller may be heading to miami, florida. if you spot them or this car, please call police right away. police are in south phoenix looking for clues to what led up to a shooting overnight. abc15's maryellen resendez is join us live. you were first on scene. do you know anything else at this point? >> reporter: the police tell us they planned to got here for several hours this morning.

a state of emergency in north carolina to help battle a problem we are familiar with. more than 20 active wildfires are pouring across the state and the smoke is spreading into neighboring states as well. officials offering a reward for anybody to provide information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for setting the wildfire. he those are words from the mother of an accused serial killer. todd kohlhepp is accused of killing seven people in south carolina. detectives have found three bodies on this property. police say there could be more victims. a judge declared a mistrial moments ago in the case of an ohio officer who killed a black man.
