forecast 89 degrees for phoenix. that will put us one degree shy of today's record set back in 1990. we've got some big changes headed our way and you're going to start to feel them by tomorrow as we start to feel some gusty winds. i'll show you how far those temperatures will fall in minutes. iris i want to show you new video. this is 19th avenue in monte bellow. there's a large police presence there trying to figure out what exactly led to this crash. sounds like the driver did need to be cut out of that vehicle. i don't have an update on the injuries but i'll let you know. from here i want to go to las vegas after an officer-involved shooting. it happened in the eastern portion of the downtown area. our sister station in las vegas telling us right now no officers were injured.

pulled up on the ipad. officers did fire shots, multiple officers fired shots here and witnesses describe hearing several police cars racing to the scene. police have not said how many suspects are involved in this or their condition. a case involving a kingman woman is now under review after officers say she released her pit bull on an officer twice. i-40. the officer says he walked up to that home. the woman warned him about the dog but it wasn't until she screamed that she lost control and the leash slipped. the officer was bitten on the arm. this morning valley siblings are calling her a hero.

the family's three dogs were also saved. they will have to find a new place to say. new this morning a san diego ceo is tweeting out apologizes. it's now under federal investigation. apparently he threatened to kill president elect donald trump in an election night facebook post he said getting a sniper and perching himself where it counts. one of the elections is now favored for secretary of state. former mayor rudy giuliani is a long-time friend. aids are also considering john bollton for that spot. his immigration plan may be controversial but there's no doubt is thrust donald trump into national spotlight.

monster earthquake in new zealand. two babies injured this morning. these babies newborns and relatives have been rescued. and they were all stranded in a popular coastal town. that quake cut off train access, car access. to help with the evacuation. the quake left two people dead and triggered a small tsunami. still 90,000 early and provisional ballots still not counted. the state democratic party has declared victory in the county recorder's race. we contacted both candidates. neither is saying that the race is over.

to drop to 59 degrees for a low this morning. so right around the same as yesterday morning when you were heading out. by 7:00 a.m. we'll be back up to 60 then by 8:0062 degrees. sunny skies, so clear conditions. again, cool temperatures on your drive into work. of course it's much colder up to our north. we're down into the 20s again. flag staff you're coming in at 29. and not far from freezing spots like cholo here this morning. but it is going to get much colder by the end of the week. and this afternoon pretty warm across the state. today phoenix makes it up to 89. we're talking mid to upper 80s all to our west. kingman you'll even make it into the 80s today. and across the valley those temperatures are running well above average. by this afternoon we're talking highs in the upper 80s.

average across our valley cities and we're going to have to be on record watches. i do think we're going to stay just below it by 1 degree but that record is 90. close enough to certainly be on record watch this afternoon and it's not just the valley. flagstaff, tuscan also coming in within 1 degrees shy of that record. today you're going to make a change. we're not going to see any rain but we're going to cool-down by thursday into friday as those temperatures drop below average. we're going to go from the upper 80s today to mid 80s tomorrow to only the 70s for a highs into thursday and friday. and those morning temperatures they're getting cold. we're talking lows in the 40s to near 50 degrees. friday morning and saturday morning. so some much cooler weather heading our way. again we're going to get much
