it is thanksgiving week and it's finally starting to feel like fall as temperatures dip and rain returns. we are tracking the showers and have details on how long they will stick around. articles head coach bruce arians back in the hospital. the condition take him to the doctor after returning for minnesota. words exchanged lead to shots fired. the shooter did that led to his arrest. but 1st bruce arians is in the hospital. you have gotten the push alert. we are told he was having chest pains. his wife took him in last night once the team got home for minnesota. the cardinals say all tests have come back favorably.

he's been hospitalized. back in august he was taken to a san diego hospital because he was not feeling well. you wish him the best. will bring you updates. we want to say good morning. thank you for joining us for the valley's only 11 am newscast. the big story you've been tracking is the rain. >> we are tracking the showers across the valley. the rain is coming down. we look live with our valley cam across central phoenix and the northeast valley. the showers and a few embedded thunderstorms moving through across the valley. they've been working their way in from the west. we're seeing pockets of heavier rain. spots like levine getting some heavy rain. the showers tracking generally

northeast. they will move across the downtown phoenix also impacting freeways like the i-17, the i- 10 and state route 51. even the loop 101. look at scottsdale, not far from the airport, right over the airport, very heavy rain coming down. that batch will continue to track to the east/northeast eventually moving on. the showers will all spread further east eventually impacting more of the east valley over the next couple of hours. if you're heading out to lunch, an umbrella will come in hdy that rain is coming down heavy in some spots. and could create slick spots. the rain chances will stay elevated and in that range for the next couple of hours before they trend down. by 4 pm a 20 percent chance for a few showers and this evening we will try out. temperatures, only in the 60s today. a high of 68 in phoenix.

dry out completely and what to expect as we start thinking about thanks giving. we are also tracking several breaking stories from overnight. words exchanged inside a mesa bar started and led to gunfire outside the scene. gilbert road and broadway. 2 men were involved. one was shot and the other is in custody. a witness tells abc15 the alleged gunman ran inside and told everyone to call 911 because he just shot someone. no word on the victim's condition. the police are there right now. now to phoenix were a shooting led to an all-out chase. police following 2 men accused of shooting at a woman inside her car twice. we spoke with the victim involved and megan, what did she have to say? >> she was too shaken. she did tell me she has no idea

7 blowholes into her truck. the started earlier this morning around 5 am when the woman was pulling out of this shopping area near . the woman said it sounded like a cringing water bottle but quickly realized this was shots. she fled but they started following her. -- she was following them. she eventually pulled off letting dps police take over. but the suspects did not stop. they went northbound on loop 101 and bailing off near the mayo clinic. police nabbed them and put them in handcuffs. there was also a question about whether or not this is related to the street shootings we have been covering. it is a dark bmw but appears to be a newer model than the serial shooter was driving. they are looking into a possible connection. no word on the charges with the suspects will face. the good news is no one is

has to stay on scene longer working with detectives. but the 1st call she will make is to her insurance company to get the damage figured out. developing out of phoenix the search is on for a gunman after fight turned deadly in an apartment complex near 16th and thomas. a 35-year-old man died after he was shot several times. a group of about 7 people were arguing when the shots were fired. be identified spoke with us about what led up to it. >> earlier they were drinking. i even had a beer with them. everything was okay. we were talking about sports and i don't know, the argument was someone stealing something. it escalated.

suspect took off in the truck and the victim has not been identified. a man in pinal county is behind bars. sheriff's deputies are trying to see if there's any truth to his claim. they arrested the 27-year-old at a circle k on saturday morning. employees called 911 after he threatened down to burn down the gas pump. he reportedly told the deputy fire is therapeutic. he later said he set several san francisco fire -- homes on fire. he maybe tie to the arson cases. flagstaff police under fire after the shocking video. an o the officer is on administrative leave after punching the woman in the face. an internal affairs investigation is just beginning. the woman says she wants the officer fired. >> he deserves it. anyone in the workforce would be fired if they were to hit anyone. >> at the officer claimed she hit him in the groin before the punch happen. she denies that and is considering taking legal action.

quite a laugh at a gas station. witnesses say he used a see- through plastic bag over his hand and simulated a gun with his finger. this happened it 30 second and van buren. one witness took action saying he wasn't afraid. >> if you're stupid enough to take a plastic bag on your hand is going to work as a gun, i don't think you are intelligent enough to do anything else. >> telling it like it is. the thief got away. no one was hurt. phoenix police described him as 5 foot 9 inches. thin. you can be happy and sad. >> this valley family torn apart in an instant. to young kids forced to grow up without their mother. how our community is coming together to give the family

inside a tucson courtroom for david watson. the former fire captain accused of killing 3 people including his ex-wife and her mother. prosecutors say it stems from a custody fight over the custody -- couple's daughter. groups who hunt and fish at the grand canyon don't want to turn into a national monument. they are pushing for a compromise in case president obama designates a national monument there. they want north removed from the potential designation. it would allow them to keep hunting and fishing. if you love cutting down your own christmas tree you have more places to go. chris mystery permits are now available. they will give out 600 permits and they cost $15. last week permits went on sale for other national forest. priests in the catholic church have a permanent power to forgive. the statement from pope francis on abortion.

the sheriff's spokesman says the water canyons were used to put out fires set by protesters and to keep the protesters away from law enforcement officers during a violent clash. and organizer of the protest says 17 people went to the hospital, some have hypothermia. 180 protesters were injured. progress is being made on wildfires across the southeast. the area in south carolina -- noh schools reopened today for the 1st time in several days. able are being told to be extra careful since the fire danger is very high. this morning we hear from witnesses in the georgia dock collapse the killed a firefighter trying to help people who had fallen into the water. >> the. -- it appeared to drop upside down. people were falling in the

there were several trying to swim to the edge. >> about 30 people were hurt. it's not clear why the dock collapsed. parents, before you stand in line for black friday toys we want to give you a heads up about 1 product. take a look at this video. toys "r" us is temporarily halting the sale of this toy truck. apparently it caught on fire in washington state after a real pickup truck burned. the family bought the dump say they realized it was on fire. >> we have to pull over and get out. we pulled over. flames start shooting. >> the flames reached 20 feet high. everyone got out safely but toys "r" us says they will not sell the toy truck to anyone else while it investigates. before you make that shopping list for thanksgiving

recalling hummus and spreads due to possible listeria contamination. affected products were made before november 8. throughout any product with the best buy date through january 23. let's talk about your most accurate forecast. rain moving through the valley. thunderstorms producing hail. looking live with the phoenix children's hospital valley cam you could see the low clouds. and the rain falling. also looking live with our mayo clinic valley cam, a stronger storm rolled through with reports of small hail in that area. scottsdale, getting some hail. this is a band of showers and thunderstorms developing and moving from west to east across the valley as a cold front swings through central arizona.

down over the next few hours. you can see some showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rain northeast of levine through downtown phoenix. right along buckeye they are also impacting the durango curve and i-10. you may want to give yourself extra time to get wherever you are going to hold off as the showers will continue to push to the east and eventually and that further to the east valley. you will need your umbrella for the lunch break in the east valley. the way until the storms mo we have an area of heavy rain. right by state route 51. moving slowly east through central phoenix. we have that stronger thunderstorms producing hail right over the scottsdale airport. that storm dusting off to the northeast. also seeing another area of rainfall, heavier rain and thunderstorms near fountain hill. this line of showers and thunderstorms is tracking to

from southwest to northeast. they will continue to spread into spots like mesa and chandler. this band moves east. we have more widespread showers along the mogollon rim. scattered showers generally, but also some snow over the white mountains we have seen some of the coldest temperatures this morning. we're starting to see some snow develop over francisco peaks. and flagstaff. you will start to see snow as well. the cold air is moving in. is helping transition the precipitation from rain to snow. we're going to start to see conditions that are slick and flagstaff and areas between williams and flagstaff.

chance of accumulating snow for today. as the storm system pushes to the east, chances for rain in the valley for the next couple of hours gradually trending down. by this evening we clear out the rain chances. they continue through early tonight before they clear out. by tomorrow we are back to drier conditions. if you're heading out to lunch, watch for the scattered showers and thunderstorms across the valley with the chance of rain by this afternoon the rain chances trend wn evening the valley is in the clear. those rain chances will continue across the high country as we go through late afternoon into the evening and with that colder air setting in we will watch for conditions in areas above 7000 feet could end up with accumulating snow. overnight tonight starting to dry, tomorrow sunny skies back in the forecast and it will clear out the rain chances and

we are tracking rain and thunderstorms across the valley. are phoenix valley cam showing you rain coming down. heavy rain through central phoenix. on the right some wet roads and we're keeping an eye on the sky as the showers move across the valley. fencing -- spots and reports of hail. snow now falling in parts of northern arizona. i will break down how much longer we will see the rain and snow in your most accurate forecast. a glimmer of hope after a devastating crash that killed a chandler mother. her 3-year-old son is now out of the hospital taking his 1st steps. we spoke with the children's grandmother about the progress in the outpouring of support from people across the valley. >> reporter: a beautiful family changed in an instant.

a dangerous weekend for police after 4 separate shootings in 3 different states. in manhunt is underway in san antonio after the officer in that incident died. >> reporter: for officers in 4 cities, ambushed. one of them murdered just outside police headquarters. >> have an officer down in front of headquarters. o this detective, a 20 year veteran of the san antonio police department was in his patrol car writing a traffic ticket when police say this car pulled up behind him, a man the head through the passenger side window. >> we have been able to develop suspect from this video. the suspect is described as a black male in his 20s. thin build. 5-10 with a goatee. >> reporter: the suspected killer is still out there. meanwhile in st. louis another officer is in critical but stable condition.

we are tracking the rain in parts of the valley. you can see camelback mountain on the top right hand side of your screen. we will show you the behind the band of rain, the clouds will break up. the heaviest rain moving through the valley. you can see it on doppler radar. loop 202 heading straight for loop 101 in scottsdale, paradise valley getting heavy rain. if you can hold off before going to lunch if you have to take the loop 101, that will be the best that. this line of showers and thunderstorms will create difficult conditions and will continue to push east. it's moving quickly. if you can wait 30 minutes before you head out that might be the best that. we are also seeing rain in waterloo bay and tempe moving

we continue to track heavy rains through the valley. air 15 spotting water on the roadways. you can see some as they continue to keep a close eye on the situation. no major flooding reports yet. watch for wet roads and some water on the roadways. or rather, ponding water along with shiny wet roads. we're seeing the heaviest rain pushing east of camelback

traffic. if you missed a package delivery sometime today you expect to get one of those notices saying go to the post office to pick it up. but some of you are saying you're getting weird emails instead. >> she received an email the liquidity came from the postal service that we had an undeliverable package. she says she got 3 of them. but the tracking number and links, she was expecting a click on a random link. good idea. she wants to the put -- she went to the post office and could not get an answer. we went to the postal service website and tried tracking the number. could not find it. postal inspection service tells me it's a phishing scam that installs a virus and will steal personal information from your pc. there is a legitimate email but you have to sign up 1st.

if you're expecting a package contact the post office and don't click on the link. i've been tracking a line of showers and storms moving quickly across the valley. behind those showers and storms we are starting to see some breaks in the clouds. i showed you this earlier and we had some pouring rain across downtown phoenix. the sun is starting to peek through. the heaviest rain is still pushing across parts of the east valley. you see camelback mountain, that heavy rain it moving over loop 101 and pushing east. we're seeing snow in spots across the state. i took this picture from the national weather service in flagstaff. they tweeted it out. this is snow falling in flagstaff, you will see snow showers over the next couple of hours. you will notice the rain in the valley that this band moves through fairly quickly. it still producing areas of

into spots like fountain hills. we had some move across loop 202. on the eastern side of loop 101 moving up into fountain hills. that band of rain is heading your way fountain hills. we have time for you to get some heavier rainfall before it is done. al-sahhaf showers, and heavy showers in tempe pushing to the east. mesa, you still have chances for rain. over the next hour before it starts to clear the valley. we also have another area of storms and heavy rains south of sunflower. if you have to take the highway up, just know you will encounter somewhat roads. keep that in mind. another area of showers and storms is southeast of queen creek. as you look at the bigger picture we are still looking at some of the snowfall across the way mountains.
