skies cleared overnight. i'd grab a sweater or a jacket before you head out the door. i also want to point something out the dew point in the upper 40s. we're going to have to watch for some patchy fog as temperatures get a little cooler towards sunrise. i'll keep you posted if i do. today's high temperature up to 70 degrees. i'll show you how much warmer it will be by thanksgiving minutes. >> let's get off and running with some breaking news here in phoenix. first on scene at a deadly shooting at an apartment complex. take a look at the map there. justin pazera learning more about what happened there. >> reporter: good morning dan i just talked to detectives and i can tell you i really don't have a lot to go on.

on scene here trying to uncover something that can lead them to this suspect. here's what we know at this point. one man was taken to the hospital. that's where he was pronounced dead. apparently he was in his apartment with a female when somebody came to the door. he opened that door and that's when that suspect opened fire. not sure what the relationship is between the victim and the suspect at this point but we do know that that victim multiple times. the one thing about this apartment complex is that it does not have any surveillance video so detectives really going to have to work their beat right over here and see if they can get any witnesses who maybe saw something. as soon as we get that suspect description we will pass that along to you. 4:32 and happening right now there is a new investigation centered on a phoenix police officer who's accused of

we want to be clear the sergeant is not charged with anything as of this morning. but he is the focus of criminal and internal investigation. meantime you can see the smoke coming out of that mobile home. the fortunate part is the two nation homes happened to tell you they were not affected. new trouble this morning for the d-backs. looks like thero going to buy chase field is now backing out. nick, do we know what happened? >> danielle we know that that deal is officially off the table this morning. the d-backs were hoping that this was going to be a field of dreams of sorts but it seems like they're striking out big time this morning. board of directors announced monday that a group that was interested in the stadium was backing out. real estate partners started

well it's now been two weeks since donald trump was named president elect of the united states and work says he's narrowed the field down to two men. both of those men are considered political moderates compared to trump's first cabinet picks. meantime we now know what donald trump and advice president elect mike thanksgiving. trump is expected to leave for his marilago resort. . a former aid to george w. bush says he expects 80% of

joan king complains corral punishment would be considered criminal assault or battery. more supportive practices against bad behavior. right now the city of phoenix is discussing how they're going to adjust to prop 206. that was the measured that was just passed to up the minimum wage by $210. this will directly impact 187 degrees. the increased wages will cost phoenix year. meantime our state is in the black when it comes to revenue. the general fund took in more than $733 million. it's still unclear what will actually be done with that surplus money. a tuscan teen taking action to let first responders know they're appreciated .

detective gunneded down in san antonio. this morning the man accused of pulling the trigger has something to say. he's apologized to ben gentleman min marcony's family. mccain was taken into custody yesterday afternoon. the suspect walked up to his vehicle and opened fire. this morning a heart breaking stor dozens of dogs and cats rescued from a burning duplex. the elderly woman who lived at that home. her granddaughter says at the time when she moved in she just had four dogs. those pets multiplied and ended up with 40 dogs and cats. this morning protests

access pipeline. themoreton county sheriff resign. to douse demonstrators with water cannons. organizers say at least 17 people were injured and some of them had to be treated for hypothermia. an incident is once again raising concerns here in the u.s. a woman in a wheelchair was tazed twice by a deputy. holman was charged with resisting arrest and thinks the officer should also face charges. >> i feel like they actually abused the law and used it to abuse a disabled person that can't even fight back. >> an internal investigation is now under way. the department says if any policies and procedures were violated those officers may be suspended or even fired.

second annual special. u2 man bonno has recruited stars. the special airs tonight right after abc15 news at 10:00. for the first time ever ice skating is heading to the west valley. skate west skate has officially re-opened. about 4,000 people are expected to join santa for the free holiday fun. through friday tonight through january 8th. i was actually out on west gate on saturday. nice and festive out there. thank goodness it is cool enough at least. arizona state this is about what we get in the fall. >> you know what it's kind of nice and these storm systems brought out that cooler air. now we don't have to worry about the rain or even the snow as that's tapering off to the east.

we are waking up with clear skies and those clear skies combined with the cooler air that moved in yesterday the light winds are making for a colder start to our day. look at those temperatures they're running about 9 to 14 degrees colder than 24 hours ago. we've got 40s in many valley spots. so sweater or jacket weather as you head out the door. mesa you're down to 40 degrees and your valley and anthem you're both in the upper well. i think the kids will certainly want a sweater as we approach sunrise. that temperature will get a little colder. right now we're sitting at 52 degrees. i do think phoenix dropped around 51 degrees and many valley cities will be down into the 40s through here that sunrise. it's still going to be chilly even by 8:00. our temperature in the low 50s. so a slow warm up here in the valley and it's even colder up north.

fresca you're sitting at 38. now the snow has tapered off across the high country and northern arizona with the exception of the san francisco peaks where we're still seeing some of that light snowfall. other than that we're not seeing any new snow. but keep in mind the roads could still be slick. the moisture could certainly freeze as we get those colder temperatures in some spots. so you'll want to watch for some also some patchy fog in the high country. here in the high country we'll watch for patchy fog. other than that we're looking at dry weather as you get ready to head out the door. high pressure building back in. that will mean quiet, clear skies, and also slightly warmer temperatures over the next few days. so as you look at future cast with me today sunny skies through the valley through the evening. tomorrow if you're traveling around the state maybe heading out for thanksgiving we are
