>> alan: an east bay neighborhood evacuate after offirs find pipe bombs and bombmaking material inside a home. good evening everye. danville police were taking no chances today. >> carolyn: when officers discoved the pipe bombs, they go neighbors out of their homes and called in the bomb squad. >> reporter: the peopleho live in this danville neighborhood are back in their homes after several of them were told to leaveor their own safety. the pipe bombs were found inside this home on amigo road.

police were first alerted to the house after reports of a verbal disturbce. officer learned the argument was over one of the residents possessing seral pipe bombs, eric dennis was in possession of three homemade pipe bombs and other materials. the police evacuated nearby homes and called in the walnut creek bomb squad to help, which etonated the bombs on the scene. the neighbors are relieved it's over. ey say it -- the house sticks out from the other homes in the neighborhood. >> we don't wa this kind of activity occurring with children around. we long for a safe neighborhood, and besides that house, we really had that here, and danville is pretty sleepy. so itas very active here today. >> hopefully going to kee a watch on the house and what

>> alan: hurricane igor battering bermuda. 80 miles-per-hour winds are whipping up waves and heavy rains are causing minor ooding. david curley files this report from bermuda. >> reporter: this isurricane or arriving. some high wis and a lot of rain. residen here on this island woke up to good news and bad ews. the bad news is that igor is headed right towards the island, 21 square miles in the middle of the atlantic. the good news it's now a category 1. still, are seeing gusts already of 85-miles-an-hour, and some of the waves hitting 15 feet. in fact it's that surge of water which could cause damage. when the storm was a category 2, th premiere warned this might be the strongest storm the island ever faced. that'sno longer the case, but igor will sit over the island for 12 hours because it's so big, and it's the better can --
