♪ we begin with a new developmenin connection with a deadly san bruno explosion and fire. state sator leland yee said pg&e will move the gas pipeline that exploded september 9th out of that devastated neighborhood. theresa garcia joins us now from san bruno. theresa, apparently there's a conflict because pg&e is not confirming this. >> it hinges on perhaps the interpretation of commitmen because you have the president of pg&e saying he has committed to moving that pipeline but this morning a pg&e spokesperson says he tells me they are committed into looking in it.

a little bit of a difference there certainly and no 100% guarantee. ever since the devastating gas line rupture, the explosion and fire, it was where do we go from here? city leaders have said they cannot rebuild that neighborhood as long as the pipelin exists in that current location. pg&e has met with the mayor and state and federal leaders and said the utility will look for the cation that doesn't run through the middle of a residential neighborhood. >> chris johns told the neighborhood we are committed to working with the city and working with our ste and federal lears to look at all available options for the pipeline. >> so is this simply an exploration stage or definity being to be moved out othe neighborhood? >> the final decion won't be made lightly and it won't be made union --unilaterally. that's the city of san bruno, with the state and federal

officials as we look at the future of this pipeline. >> the state has been trying to help residents rebuil as well. earlier this week governor schwarzenegg signed into law a billion that provides disaer relief in the form of tax relief for the affecteded families and the city of san bruno, san mateo county and local schools dealing with tax losses or will be from the damaged and destroyed properties. another thing going on her with san bruno recovery for the community is that congresswoman jackie spear will convene a federal state briefing with represtatives from the national transportation safety boar also different people from the state. that's gonna happen at the end of the month. this is the second debriefing here that will happen in the city of samateo -- excuse me, san bruno. live in san bruno,heresa garcia, abc 7 news. >> theresa, as long as very much. it's a soggy morning around the bay area and this is only the beginninof an entire weekend

delays of nearly 70 minutes into sfo. check out our flight tracker at abc7news.com. let's eck out live doppler 7 hd. radar returns aren't nearly as impressive as that actually reaching the ground. a better day with radar returns starting t shrink a little. you see tha little radar turn there. notice how it's coming from a different direction. that's the next system, the 145 mph jet stream that's pushing that system in. it is energizing that system and going to bring us some heavy rain over the weekend. right w just cloud cover and that daness and mild temperatures, upper 50s to low 60s around the monterey bay. same thing, cloud damp, upper 50s to low 60s. with that scattered showers in the afternn forecast. going to b rainy this weekend with the heaviest rain fallin sunday and drier air monday, tuesday and wednesday. low to mid-60s through the coast and throughout the bay maybe upper 60s in the south bay. near 70 in the east bay valleys.

around the monterey bay may see uppe60s. inland upper 60s to near 70 degrees. for tonight mild once again with the cloud cov. looking at mid-50s. but you noti the rain already starting to mo into the north bay as we get into the early morning hours of saturday let's put it into motion. you can see the radar retur are few and far between but there are scattered showers throughout the afternoon and into the early evening hours. once we head overnight, watch that next system punch into the bay 8:00 tomorrow morning and then just rain and it keeps raining and it rains some more through 7:00. may get a little lull during the early evening hours on saturday and then that ne system is poised to fly right down with this cold front from midmorning to mid afternoon on sunday. if we see street flooding, parking lots, that ki of stuff because a lot of the grates are not clean, kind of clogged and they're ing to back up because of that, that's when we see that type of flooding.
