at 8:30 this morning, and the junks listening to victim impact statements. we hear oscar grant's mother will be speaking and his fiancee and we're also told that johannes mehserle will say a few words. they convicted him in the past july in the shooting death of oscar grant on new year's day. grant was unarmed. mehserle says he mistakenly pulled his gun when he meant to pull his taser. they convicted him of involuntary manslaughter and gun enhancement mang it maximum sentence of some years in state prison. this morning the jue indicated he is troubled with that. it's clear beyond any doubt that mehserle used the gun but he honestly believed he had a taser in his hand and he did not intend to sho the gun. they started by thinking about
