>> we begin with the deadly case of a woman hit by a truck in antioch. >> a person of interest, they found him half a mile from the crime scene. they say he wa sitting in the truck, the truck that matched the deription of the vehicle that hit the victim. any charges filed yet? >> okay. cheryl, the driver of at suspected hit and run pickup truck has gone down to police headquarters for more questioning but at this point he has not been charged yet. here at the scene in front of

this grocery store, you see this is where the investigators are collecting evidence that was scattered around this area where the incident appromate began. the homicide to place here on the 17 block in antioch. around 1:50 this morning police got repos of a woman hid and dragged by a pickup truck. officers found her severy injured lying in the roadway. the victim was taken to the hospital where she died. eyewitnesses have told investigators the vict was heard arguing with a person sitting inside a silver nissan pickup truck with pay luggag rack on the cab. the police spotted a truck of the exact description parked in front of a rite aid store. >> there are so similarities, things about the truck that raise our suspicions that there's a strong likelihood this might be the vehicle. but that will take some time to determine. >> detectives examined the pickup truck in the parking lot

but said they didn't see any noticeable signs of an impact. police detained the driver in front of the store, queioned him at length. he was taken in for further questioning. they tried to hi his face from those of us in the media out here and spotted him. we'rnot sure whether he has an involvent in the case but we're going to find out shortly. police tell me probably by the afternoon they should know whether or not they're going to charge the suspect. as for a motive, whether the suspect and the victim knew each other perhaps just met, they say that is completely unclear but this area is known for a lot of police activity. they mean drug activity.
