ambitious project trying to raise a billion dollars to tackle these last remainin languages, how is that campaign going so far? >> it is going well, george. it is not jusabout money. it is about the vision. a lot of people need money. because we are able to focus and bring attention to these next 15 years, people are praying, giving and ing. the campaign is going well, 2 years into it, at 231 million dollars given so far. well over 20 percent of the way there. god ha been great showing favor in this campaign. >> you are not just translating the scripture. they are creating a language for them, isn't that right? >> that's right. because you have been out, you know how iworks, it is a privilege for us to be able to help people develop alphabets for their languas, reduce thingto writing and help

people to learn to read and write. it is a privilege to bridge people from their mother tongue. it makes a huge difference in people's lives here and now. >> the kind of impact that has on a community when you bring them, letters of the alphabet, you are able to create an original language. what es it mean for the society? >> one is access to scripture, other is access to educati. in doing bilingual education. we are able to help these young people learn how to read and write mother tongue first, they can learn to read and write language of write communication, mandar, french, portuguese. you know, too, george if you

can teach a motherto read and write, provi her information shg she is more effectivin changing the community than placing a doctor there. >> you have hundreds of folks on the front lines doing it day in and day out. it is a laboris task coming up with alphabets for people that havenever had a language. >> it is a tough b. more and more national colleagues becoming involved in this as well. we need a lot of north americans, we have a privilege of working with national colleagues from asia, africa, pacific islands, it is a great privilege to be involved with it greatest bible translation the church has ever witnessed. >> for our viewers that don't understand thi, it is a long process.
