and damaging a garage. it turned out the lights for several nearby residents. officials restored the power after one ur. >> we are getting a little bit of a break but another big system on the way. >> let' get the time line from mike. we have showers right now, mike. >> still up mainly in the north bay but you can see over the bay itself things pretty quiet. gusty winds causing flight arrival delays into sfo this morning. let's say we go up to the north bay and show you what is going on up there. you can see strong storms coming in the marin couy coast. some of this slipping into sonoma county around santa rosa, petaluma towards novato. this has been the trend all throughout the morning hours. waves of showersa little stronger over the ocean, even thunder. then they come ashore and they kind of quiet and they kind of fall apart in the north bay leaving you with a quarter to about a half inch of rain today. around the south bay and the santa cruz mountns, the steady rains from the morning are over

but as we look at the big picture, we still have snow up in the sierra. winter storm warning until 4:00 and more showers and thunderstorms veloping out over the ocean. those are coming in before that big orm comes in. we'll give you timetables for that. >> mike, thanks. in sonoma county rescue teams are retching the rushing river where a 62-year-d woman is believe theed to he driven off the road. she disappeared from a drive to her santa rosa hotel. she was last seen 10:00 saturday night leaving a restaurant with friends. investigators say they believe she was dring back to santa rosa when it appears the minivan she was driving veered off the road in an area where highway 1 intersects with highway116 and the rushg river. authorities found fresh tire tracks on a grassy shoulder in the area. they spotted an oil sheen in the water below. >> san francisco police ar asking for help finding two men

who robbed a 14-year-old girl at gunpoint. it happened yesterday morning. police say the two men approached the girl near gary boulevarand laguna street. one of the men reportedly demanded money while the other flashed a gun. the suspects got away with the girl's purse, jewelry and cellphone. she was not hurt. >> an dit of the pg&e pipelines just four months before the deadly san bruno explosion is suggesting the utility company took shortcuts during its inspection of natural gas lines. the san francisco chronicle reports the audit was done to determine how well pg&e was complying with the 2002 federal law requiring inspections of all natural gas lines in urban areas. the audit says the utility had used a method called direct assessment on about three-quarrs of the gas pipelines it test, including the section of pipele in san bruno that later exploded. that cannot detect some problems in pipelines including weaknesses in wells. a member of the transportation

♪ a new study finds boys who are breast-fed as infants do better in the classroom during childhood. researchers in australia sa kids predominantly breast-fed for six monthor longer had significantly higher test scores on math, reading and spelling than children breast-fed for shorter period or given formula. the researchers say the results appear to be much stronger for boys than for girls. studies have long shown that breast-feeding has been beneficial for mother an newborn. it was published online in pediatrics. >> an environmentalatchdog says the city of s jose has one of the highest levels in the nation of a cancer-csing toxin
