today is my final address. i want to say something simply from the heart and that is, ank you. >> alan: parting wor from governor schwaenegger on his last full day in office. today brings a close to the governor seven years in sacramento. he admits that history will be the judge of his administration's accomplishments but says he is confident he did what is best for calirnia. lillian kim joins us with more on the governos final address to california. >> reporter: the governo was a bit sentimental when he delivered his final weekly radio address. the governor took office seven years ago, replacing gray davis,

in an historic recall election. today hemarked the end of his term by thanks californians the honor of serve as govern. >> my family, my career, all my successes, i owe to california. the opportunity to give something ba as governor has been an immigrant's dream come true. >> reporter: the entire address is over four minutes. he talk about how california is still the golden dream by the sea and continues to be the entertainment and innovation pital of the world. he touted his accomplishments duringhis seven years in office. although he was unable to solve the state's budget crisis insuring his address schwarzenegger talked about what he did do for california. >> working together with democrats and republics to reild california with the largest investment in infrastructure in a generation has been a fanic success. we returned $50 billion to taxpayers throh our workers coensation reforms, and we

nunez, nunez pleaded guilty to volunteer tear manslauter, but the governor called it excessti and reduced the ntence phone years. ter being denied entry into a fraternity party in snag state, nunez and others attacked a group of men. one man was stabbed to death. his family asd the judge for the maxim sentence, and he agreed. the govern's shortening the sentence comes hours before he leaves office. governor-elect jerry jerry n will be sworp in tomorrow at :00 a.m. he afountioned members of the blic coul request tickets at his facebook page. >> lieutenant governor elect

gavin newsom will be in sacramento to attend the sweari in ceremony for brown an other constitutional officers but won't be taking the oath of office himself. newsom has scheduled an inaugul name on january 10th january 10th the in capital rotunda but a inspection -- spokesman says it might happen earlier. he is waiting until the board of supervisors slec an interim mary. the lieutenant govern will remain lieutenant governor until news takes the oath of office. preparations are underway for the inauguration of oakld's first female an first asian mayor. jean quan will be sworn in tomorrow morning, an then the real challenge begins. he's session veal ya vega. >> as jean quan prepares to be sworn in as oakland's next mayor, history is in the making. she will be the first woman and first asian to lead the city,

drake boulevard had to be closed this morning after a large tree fell into the road. crews had to bring in a forklift and spent several hours chopping up the tree to clear the road. the road was cleared by 11:00 a.m. snow is beginning to fall in the sear ramp this is caltrans camera in meyers, just outside south lake tahoe. caltrans is telling drivers to carry chainsbut there are no restrictions over highway 50 or interstate 80 into the tahoe area. >> in southern california, blowing snow and ice shut down parts of i-5 over the grapevine. the chp says the highway is cled from los angeles, kern county line to 20 mights south of bakersfield. no major crashes are reported. snow is accumulating as low as 1500 feet,nd between four and eight inches is expeed in some areas this evening. abc-7 meteorologist frances dinglasan is following the storm

as it passed through california. let's talk to h about that. >> frances: it leaves the bay area, starting to hea toward southern california, bringing them se of the more severe weather. so here is a look at the satellite radar image in california. the low moving in, that's going to bring wet and cool weather to southern california. see the areas of white. that's snow over parts of the grapevine. here in the bay area, we're at the top end of the system, and you notice the wrap-around moisture bringing us some light showers. areas of light br -- light blue and light green. just a scattered shower or two expectedhrough the evening. then we're going to clear out, possible light rain falling on the dumbarton bridge and parts of san jose. tomorrow, wake up to dry days. cool but i'll tell you how long the dry weather will stick around. >> alan: a day at the beach took a scary turn for one man and his golden retriever. david perez says his dog, sunny,

>> alan: a magnitude 7.1 earthquake shook the southern part of chile today. the shaking lasted 20 seconds. many of the region -- many in the region were concerned it could trigger another tsunami like the one that hit the couny in february. that was caused by an 8.8 magnitude quake which left 200,00 homeless. so far there have been no reports of deaths or damages in

today's earthake, and no tsunami alert has been issued. the navy says it will investigatwhat it calls clearly inappropriate videos broadcas to the crew of a nuclear powered aircft carrr. a top officer of the uss enterprise, former top gun pilot, w star of the videos. we have this report. >> reporter: the videos are shocking. profanity, gay jokes, simuted sexual act, women pretding to bathe together. not some comedy stch on the internet or cable but members of the unites states military board the u.s. naval aircraft care you're the enterprise. caain owen honors in 2006 and 2007, wh he was second in command of the vessel, allegedly created and broadcast the videos to the crew, according to a newspaper. in one scene,, honors, wearing a robe, appears to expose himself. the navy calls the videos

clearly inappropriate and has launched an investigation. the enterprise is actually scheduled to deploy in two weeks but a senior navy official says he wouldn't be surprised if the enterise takes off without captain honors. abc news, washington. >> alan: president barack oba has signed into law a bill to provide aid to survivors the september 11th attacks. it will also help first responders who got sick working in the ruins at the world trade center. the white house provided this picte of the president signing the bill in hawaii. the bill is one o the last measures congress passed before adjoning in decemb. the 4.2 bill measure will be paid for with fees on some reign companies that get u.s. govement procurement contras. 2011 began with a glitch for many iphone users. why many didn't get the wake you were alarm they hoped for. after all the rain looks like we're in for a little

cool and dry monday morning, and then we have a warmup this week. so here's the low pressure system that's heading south and going to continue to bring soutrn california some trouble through tomorrow. then by tuesday they shoul be dry, and as it heads towards san luis obest -- obispo, we're not going to see much rain from that lo pressure system starting tomorrow morning. there's a warning in effect for small streams in monterey county until 11:00 tonight. look out for timing if your driving through the area. and as we head to tah, although highway 50 and i-80 open, there's a winter weather advisory where they can expect a foot and a half of snow above 7,000 feet. the lows tonight, you'reoing to wake up to a very cool morninas we see those cloud clea we'll see low 40s in san

rafael, richmond, even some mid-30s in santa rosa and 40 in fairfield and antioch, 42 in san jose. so cool start. once the sunine starts to break through, we get a nice warmup. in fact, temperatures climbing back into the mid-50s. we have not seep that in a while. even some upper 50s in fremont and san jose. 57 there as well as in richmond. but still pretty cool in fairfield, 5 as we head further south, we see mid-to up 50ers in monterey bay, with 58 in watsonville so check out the accuweather seven day forecast. almost no rain in sight all week. we have in patchy valley fog, suhine in the middle of the week. there' a very slight chance of rain on sucks so we might -- rain on sunday. >> alan: shuays is helps when you loosen up and play. >> mike: showed today with the 49ers. i'm more excited about being back on the golf course.
