it has tinted windows and three custom wheels. the fourth wheel a spare tire on the passenger side. if you see this call, you're asked to call 9-1-1. a statewide amber alert has been issued. signs are lit up across california. the suspect, 27-year-old josé rodriguez, a man with a prior conviction of involuntary manslaughter. the victim? his ex-girlfriend's four-year-old son. the boy's family says rodriguez came knocking on the window of their patterson home yesterday morning then hours later around 4 p.m. came barging into the home snatching the boy from his grandmother's arms. >> pushed me out and get me out. i didn't have my baby. he go. >> the suspect is not the boy's father. but he and the boy's mother had a relationship. they broke up five months ago. >> he just snapped.

he's not in highs right mind anymore. i'm worried because he doesn't have a car seat. josé doesn't have enough money. >> investigators since last night have been going around talking to friends and family members of the suspect. once they find those friends and family members, talking to more friends and family members to find out where he is, where he might be going, what his mind-set is. >> again, it's a silver toyota corolla that we're looking for, license plate number 6 hbw 445. we just got more information about that surveillance video at a gas station. it shows the suspect, not the car, but this is the license plate you should be looking for. it's a silver toyota corolla and we'll have more on that surveillance video which shows the suspect tonight at 5:00 and 6:00. that's the latest from the news room. >> jenelle, thanks a lot. we have developing news along

highway 101 in brisbane. a dump truck with a trailer hit the sierra point parkway overpass at about 8:30 this morning. the trailer came off and became lodged in between a road and the overpass. you can see from this picture from sky 7 hd the driver was sent to the hospital after complaining of neck pain. crews just cleared the lane but a big backup remains in both directions. caltrain will check the structural integrity of the overpass. >> two released for the investigation of several part-time bombs. the bomb squad detonated four of those explosions yesterday as a precaution. the enforcement team said an informant led them to the storage unit. the only suspect in custody is 40-year-old deborah cole. she is a known transient in the area. she had pipe bombs in her backpack. they don't know what she planned

do but say she is cooperating with the investigations. >> in san pablo an officer is on administrative leave after a traffic stop. he pulled over the vehicle with three people inside on san pablo dam road. one of the passengers jumped out of the car and ran. the officer chased him and ordered him to stop several times before firing his laser. after that the officer and suspect struggled. during the fight the man pointed a weapon at the officer and that's when the officer shot him. >> parents and teachers in the mount diablo school district are nervously waiting to find which three schools will be targeted for closure. they expect to reveal the list at its meeting house. a full house is expected. terry mcsweeney is live with the story. >> tonight at 5:30 at northgate high school in walnut creek, an advisory committee is going to be producing a list with the names of three schools on it, the schools it considers best to close in order to save the

reporting giffords will be released from a tucson hospital on friday less than two weeks after she was shot in the head at point blank range. giffords was the first person shot when jared loughner opened fire during a town hall meeting at a tucson safeway. the shooting spree left six oprah winfrey dead. >> the menlo hotel is facing federal charges to fire an arsonist. now the bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms say 44 old richard singer is hired for slitting an arson iist. singer is being held without bail. >> the white house this morning announced china will purchase $45 billion in u.s. exports, including 200 boeing airlines.

in northeast philadelphia a 50 foot fireball lit up the sky last night, the result of a gasoline explosion. one person was killed, five others injured, including a firefighter. at least one home was completely destroyed and several others were seriously damaged. officials received reports of a gas and water main break in that neighborhood an hour before the explosion. the red cross is assisting more than a dozen residents displaced by the blast. >> federal investigators say a small methane gas ignition fuelled by excessive coal dust caused the deadly west virginia mine explosion. 29 people were killed in the blast at the massey energy company mine. investigators say massey

contributed to the blast by running heat pieces of equipment without water sprayers that helps control dust and douse the methane emissions. massey had the explosion on a massive burst of gas. a final report in two or three months. a federal criminal prosecution is also underway. >> a vote is expected this afternoon on the house republican effort to repeal america's healthcare law. house members are wrapping up debate on the bill right now. democrats are defending the law saying the new system is working while republicans are claiming it stifled job growth. >> it is time to end the uncertainty facing families and employers and workers. it's time to push obama-care aside so american job creators both large and small can move forward with the confidence they need to hire more workers. >> we've seen health insurance premiums jump dramatically over the last decade and we've seen more and more businesses shed coverage for their employees. the republicans wanna believe

there's certainty in that. the republicans want to believe that's a comfort to the american working family. that's not a comfort. >> the bill is expected to pass in the republican-dominated house but it's dead on arrival in the democratically controlled senate. republicans will keep up the pressure to push back the law by trying to deny funds needed tory out the law. >> joe lieberman say he will retire after serving 24 years after the senate. >> i will not be a candidate for re-election for a fifth term in 2012. that was not an easy decision because i love serving in the senate and i feel good about what i've accomplished. >> lieberman is expected to have a tough run awaiting him for re-election. the 68-year-old lost the last time. he ran for the democratic senate nomination for 2006 but won a new term running as an independent. it could pose a pickup opportunity for democrats in a state where president obama is

♪ there is a growing threat to planes in this country and coming to people who aim lasers at the pilots which could temporarily blind them and cause a crash. federal aviation administration officials say incidents of lasers pointed at planes more than doubled last year from 1500 to nearly 3,000 incidents. here in the bay area san jose international had 80 laser incidents. los angeles and chicago reported the most. lax had 108. chicago's o'hare had 98. very scary. >> one thing that hadn't been a worry this morning though delays. right now the last couple of mornings for sfo. >> absolutely clear out there. pristine looking sky outside.

coast. near 60 downtown in south san francisco. low toid ms the north bay valleys. cloverdale and ukiah, upper 50s at your beaches. eventually we make it into the valley. d-60s in the east bay the highway 4 corridor from brentwood to concord. 6060606060s inland. about 59 here in carmel. going to be cooler in tahoe. no record high, 42 degrees and a little breezy. mid to upper 70s for the warm spot in los angeles and palm springs. tonight some of the tulie fog could sneak into the east bay. i'm thinking it's going to stay out for the most part. low 40s there. accu-weather 7-day forecast, high pressure firmly planted over the eastern pacific. it will steer all the storms away from us. we'll have temperatures above average in the low to mid-60s and it looks like a lot of sunshine the next seven days. >> wow. i think we're ready for that. >> listen to this. you may soon have to pay taxes when you order from out of state online retailers.

assembly member nancy skinner just introduced legislation to include out of state online only retailers to collect the same tax california businesses have to collect. retailers say that's only fair because right now they're at a disadvantage competing for in-state shopping business. >> alzheimer's disease, researchers say a simple blood test reveal cognitive problems years before symptoms emerge. a study of nearly a thousand americans find people with low levels of a certain type of protein in their blood show cognitive declines over a nine-year period compared with people who had higher levels of protein. the study's in the june of the american medical association. >> a new study suggests a big breakfast may actually not be helpful in losing weight. they ate the same amount for dinner.
