events in a frightening home invasion tied him up. the man told investigators they got a combination to his safe where they took a number of guns and also stole his pickup truck. >> we are trying to ascertain more information regarding the victim's relationship with them and from there we'll see more. >> they found the truck in the santa cruz mountains. homeowner gave authorities a vague description of two of the suspects saying they were in late 20s with slim builds. >> pg&e is investigating an explosion at a east bay mud facility in walnut creek. it happened this morning at a water pumping station near

putnam boulevard. you can see the fire is smoldering of the transformer. it knocked out power to several homes nearby and neighbors say it sounded like a plane had crashed. >> it was a high-pitched sound. i was just waiting for the impact. then i started hearing like lu of smoke. >> they say the water pumps were not damaged and it had no impact on water service. the pump is generally used only in the summer when the demand is high. >> newly released records revealed that pg&e boosted the pressure in a pipeline shortly before they considered that segment of the pipeline to have the highest risk of failure than any other in the bay area. they spiked the fremont to livermore line in june 2009 even

execution room and developed new protocol. both must be approved by the judge before executions can resume. over 700 inmates on death row in california. >> attorneys for the city of san jose will return to court in the hoe of permanently shutting down what they call the most dangerous nightclub. a hearing to permanently shut down club wet. police have been called to the nightclub hundred times for disturbances in the first nine months. according to the police report, a woman that was beat there the victim asked for paramedics to be called but no calls were made >> a new report reveals some of the huge pay days public officials received when they retired recently.

city records show former police chief heather fong got a payout of $528,000 when she retired in 2009. that included her base pay of $187,000 plus more than $300,000 in unused vacation. she gets an annual pension of $229,000 for life. a former deputy says over $500,000 in his final year to a six figure pension. san francisco isn't the only city with big payouts. several retired bart cops were among the highest opinion paid servants in the state. one earned $355,000 in his final year by selling back vacation time and a commander was h a total salary of $282,000. the information was discovered by controller, state controller

appeared in a london courtroom today. julian assange, he is accused of sexual misconduct by two women he met in a visit to stockholm last year. they say it's politically motivated. they are trying to build a criminal case against him after he leaked diplomatic cables and secret military files. >> the family two of the u.c. graduates being detained in iran say they are glad that shane bauer and josh fattal were able to proclaim their innocence in court. they pled not guilty before a judge in a first trial hearing in iran yesterday. sara shourd did not return to iran for a trial but did plead not guilty in absentia. no outsiders are being allowed inside the court for the hearing including the men's lawyer.
