sir mess after the next round of rain the ground out here is clearly saturated. >> i understand there is three storms coming our way. that is a concern. it's always a concern up here in the mountains. >> sheriff's deputies are checking on residents to make sure they have everything they need. they haven't ordered an evacuation and no one is choosing to leave. >> it could be worse actually. we do have power. pg&e did a great job getting the power restored quickly. that makes a major difference. >> very positive people here in the mountains. no one was hurt in the slide, and sheriff's deputies don't think anybody's lives are in danger and they say that hillside is still moving. of course, rain is forecast. the situation is still precarious. for the latest on the forecast, let's go to mike nicco.

latest, a lot of sunshine, showing pretty much around the mountains. as we look out farther you can see some of the moisture developing and showers are falling apart before they get to land. low pressure develop right now to our west. this is going to roll in during the evening and overnight hours, another series of waves of rain will come through. here is scotts valley. almost four inches of rain is possible by 11:00 thursday. that is why cleanup is going to be the tough because of the rain and heavier rain that could cause more lock and mudslides as we head through the next couple of days. situation doesn't get any better about after 4:00 this afternoon. >> the weekend storm is also causing more problems today at yosemite national park. pg&e says yosemite will be without electricity for three to six days, a rock slide broke an

important transmission pole. a helicopter had to fly in a replacement because all roads are closed now. generated earth powering the hotels can last about one week. first two witnesses took the stand in the trial of two men accused in the murder of chauncey bailey. one person saw the gunman and the other saw him pull the trigger. yousef bey and one other face charges for the murder of two other men. bailey served as editor of the oakland post. bailey was gunned down while walking to work in 2007. key testimony will come from a man that has already admitted to pulling the trigger. >> an american crew is back in safe hands. f-15 burst into flames after it

>> opening statements are underway in the federal perjury trial of barry bonds. he wab indicted 2007 accused of lying to a grand jury for obstruction testifying that he never knowingly took drugs. >> reporter: the first witnesses will be called to the stand shortly. right now the defense is wrapping up opening statements. prosecution spoke earlier today for about 45 minutes. legal analyst dean johnson has been following the trials. >> think the opening statements have to go to the defense. the defense attorney al ruby did what he should have done. he set a theme, barry bonds testified before the grand jury, he employed useful information, he told the truth. he did his best. by contrast, the prosecution gave a long rambling opening

statements full of technical terms that might have been more appropriate for the balco case. didn't even mention barry bonds 20 minutes into the statement. >> reporter: prosecution says they have scientific evidence and witnesses say that bonds knew and they saw him taking some sort of injections and admitted to steroid use. >> i think that is one achilles heal but the injections of promothin a chemical, a medicine that should only be injected into women or men that are tried to hide their steroid use. >> reporter: so they have proof of urine test there were steroids in bonds and including this drug to offset the side effects of hormone use. do you think that is damaging? >> i don't think so in the long run. because based on what the

every licensed driver to address the bridge problems. a marin county sanitation district is in a criminal investigation into a december spill that dumped 2 million gallons of sewage into the bay. they have accused the contractor of negligence. district also thinks that fairfax residents may have vandalized the pipes. contractor says the sanitation district had disabled the pumping station and that could be the blame for the spill. water quality officials also announced that. >> south dakota's governor signed a law acquiring women to wait for an abortion. it's the longest waiting period in the nation and to under go counseling at pregnancy health centers. abortion drive advocate

dealing can with scattered showers that comes in wednesday morning. that is when we have the flooding potential and power outages and more rock slides in our mountains. by thursday evening, we're down to scattered showers once again. rainfall amounts up to four inches in santa cruz and north bay. one to two inches around the entire bay area. if you are heading to the sierra from 7:00 to this evening, to 5:00 friday morning, two to four feet and maybe conservative with that. it could be a lot more than that. we see temperatures that are holding in the 50s through friday, rain is likely on saturday but sunday through monday are trending drier as the pattern starts to shift. until then, it's going to be drift, drift, drift. with less than six weeks until the royal wedding in britain, prince william and kate
