san francisco muni officials have disciplined a driver after a passenger released a disturbing youtube video. >> it shows a fast moving train with a door wide open and one of the people on the board was san francisco supervisor. janelle wang has more. >> i asked muni why the operator kept the train going knowing the door was still open and muni responded by it has no idea why. the investigation is still going on at this hour. it's expected to wrap up as early as today. we want is on to show you video of this incident. it was taken by a passenger and posted on youtube.

it's the "l" lane. he was aware of the door being open so he took the door off line so he could get the green light to get the train to move but he didn't close the door and secure it. he said for passengers to stand back. if you can see the person in front, he didn't stand back. one of the other persons standing on the train was scott weaner. >> did you feel unsafe at all? >> yeah. i didn't feel people were going to fall off the train but i was worried like a rock or object that could come through the door. >> the proper procedure for cutting out a door does not appear to have been followed. so the operator is placed in a non-driving status.

>> a door malfunctioning like this is rare and the supervisor confirmed that saying in his 14 years riding muni every single day he's never seen anything like this before. i asked muni if there is pressure on muni to run on time and they said it was not a factor in this case. he did not follow safety procedures. muni's gofg agency is meeting to talk about on time performance which is slipping a about it, 71%. the latest incident is surely to come up. i had the investigation is still going on and final results could come back as soon as today. if it does happen to you, if you are riding on muni bus or train, obviously notify the operator. or there is one or two levers on the train, pull that and you are supposed to do that and report it to the driver.

antioch police say a shooting death put a young man in the hospital and a little boy in grave danger was gang-related. shots were fired around 9:00 last night on sycamore drive. investigators say a 19-year-old known gang member was hit in the head. he is medically induced coma but is expected to survive. stray bullets went through the bedroom of a home. they ended up hitting a wall right where a boy had been sleeping. the mother says the nine-year-old son was lucky, he was eating in another room at the time. >> i feel very insecure. this is my children's home. how could there be a gunshot through a child's home. i don't care what it is. i really feel scared and can't live here anymore. >> she recently moved from hayward thinking it would be safer in antioch. >> in los angeles, police will hold a news conference at noon to talk about the latest on

collided with another golden gate bus. california highway patrol says a person in the van suffered minor injuries. it belonged two northbound lanes and southbound lane for about half an hour. tonight, the california puc will hold a five hour hearing in san bruno to discuss gas pipeline rule changes. they want to prevent the explosion and fire that killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes last september. among the proposals, reducing pressure by 20% on older pipes. also installing automatic shut-off valves. the hearing is scheduled at 5:00 p.m. >> the first part of its kind in the country is being launched to help train oakland police officers that have to deal with animals on the job. this follows incidents in which officers shot and killed some machbls.

terry mcsweeney joins us from the oakland spca. >> in the very near future, every officer will receive this training, dog and wildlife encounters and practices. best practices can help officers avoid the worst case scenarios. >> three out of four households in oakland have pet dogs. so it's routine for an officer to come across one in the course of a day's work. but the killing of a dog by an officer responding to a burglar alarm and a killing of a deer trapped in the backyard of a home led to a sergeant being demoted. >> what we try to show the video of actual scenarios of dogs barking. a lot of information, what types of dogs are more likely to bite. what dogs will tend to show their emotion more so than others. >> the program includes a training dvd.

we're seeing the cooling trend. >> it's on and off. it's really chilly here but it looks pretty nice with the high clouds but the fog has been drifting in from the sutro camera. we continue to see the cooling in oakland, only in the 50s. also fremont, feeling the chill this morning. so we'll be down as much as 15 degrees or more. west wind is blowing pretty well. 66 in concord and still feeling good in the east bay and north bay. look at the 24-hour temperature change. 8 degrees cooler this hour at this time yesterday and the coast, 7 degrees cooler as well as fremont and mountain view. big changes ahead.

cooling trend today. behind the front that is pushing through this afternoon, we'll have the gusty winds especially near the coast. showers arrive tomorrow night on the heels of much colder system that could bring showers and gusty winds. there is the front. it's hung up to the north but look at the stratus. it's been drifting in from time to time in san francisco. so several things aiding in the cooling downtown but overall everyone will feel the cooldown. northwest winds will be blowing a little bit of a break tomorrow. it's not until wednesday night that this system comes on through and that will bring the much cooler air. a rain-snow mix, mount hamilton, pretty unseasonably cool, take a look 9:00 tomorrow night, showers are up to the north. cold air is coming down. through the overnight showers in san francisco and then by the morning commute.
