the nuba mountains. he testified before u.s. congressional leaders. >> there are 70-90,000 people that are going to die in the next month to 2 months because the roads are shut down and flights not coming in. >> nuba mountains home to sudan's largest christian community. house to house raids from president omar bashir armed forces. virginia congressman frank wolf says it is important that they stand up for the persecuted christians. >> the church in the west has to do a better job of advocating for the perce persecuted

church. >> muslim soldiers reportedly burning down churches. bishshop andodo testified to the deaf station that happened at his diocese. >> my house was shop and my offices and cafe was burned down and cathedral as well. >> nuba people suffered back in the 1990s. humanitarian organizations say the same people that killed more than 500,000 back then are trying to finish the job today. john waage cbn news. >> joining us now is brad phillips. he does a lot of work with the organization called voice of the martyrs. he is the country director for sudan. brad, you spent 12 days in the nuba mountains, i understand you saw graphic stuff, dead people, people hiding out in caves, what

is going on? >> tragically there is a genocide taking place in the nuba mountains. the government headed by indicted war criminals based on 2 criterion, race and religion. if you are an african or christian, aur target of the government and cartoon. >> you use the word genocide, that is a strong word. >> it is a genocide, we went in with a number of journalist, many, many people that can corroborate what i am saying. the government exterminated half of the nubas in 80s and 90s coming back to finish the job. >> we thought this is the end of

20 plus years of people losing their lives, how is this possible? >> in khartoum, they told its constituents in the north radical islamists, yes, even though the south is going away, it intends to severely clamp down on sharia law. the nuba mountains, historically was the areas where they first started their campaign of arabization and in the '80s and '90s, they massacred half of the nuba population. it is happening again, being done by 2 indicted war criminals, bashir and o maub. >> you had a chance to go before the united states congress as to what you saw, what you witnessed, you made the comment that the government in khartoum,

actually views the church christians as the enemy, why do they see the church as their enemy? >> well, i think they actually believe because of their own theology, that the spla is an extension of the church. we interviewed many, many different pastors that were tortured by the regime. they told us, they tried to get us to give them all the might bes of the congregation and when we refused they tortured us to give over the names, we said no, we are pastors and these are our flock. we are not going to betray our flock. i heard similar stories of

people that escaped. there is es estimates of people slaughtered when khartoum relaunched the genocide against the nuba people. >> how can the church in the united states, how can they help the people of the nuba? >> thank you for asking, they can intercede. it is in the nuba mountains. they desperately need fellowship with brothers and sisters in the united states. we need to go before god and intercede before christ. there are lots of ways we can get involved. contact our representatives and

>> an attack on a christian church injuring 14 people. a car bomb in the northern city of kirkuk damaged a catholic church. it is a mixed city several hours north of baghdad. sunni muslims have targeted people in the past in that city. directly to the united nations, the land known as the west bank for their own. >> the area carry as history that started long before the world ever heard of palastinians. >> most of the world calls it the west bank. the bible gave it a different name. >> it is not called the west bank, although it is on the west bank of the jordan.

we know it as judea and samaria. >> the jewish people born and that is where it started. that is where abraham walked, isaac and jacob lived and jacob slept and had his famous dream. >> this is named after biblical beth elle, house of god. god appeared to jacob and promised this land to him and his decent dents forever. >> israel regained control during the 1967, 6-day war. 1.6 million palastinians and 350,000 israeli jews live here. now this area, known as israel's biblical heartland could be the future palastinian state.

this is highway 60, the main thorough fare for israelis and palastinian arabs. it is much more. >> 1 of the most amazing roads in all of history because god met with his patriarchs, met with abraham, isaac and jacob. along this road jesus met with a samaritan woman. it is along this road that he declared to her who he was. >> some biblical highlights are present day jewish communities including jerusalem and shelow, home of the first jewish tabernacle. this is near anna tote. according to the bible this is where god told jeremiah to buy a piece of land and bury the deed in a clay pot as a sign the jewish people would return to the land.

>> i want you to buy from your uncle a piece of land and would u do it up legally with a seal and deed and title and put it in a clay pot so it lasts a long time. >> many west bank cities are under palastinian-arab control. the only controlled areas frequented by tourists are bethlehem and jerco. oldest city in the world. >> holy sites time and again ruined. >> for example long term agreements protected joseph's tomb. in 2000 palastinians forced out the jewish study and ransacked the place. a few months ago, a palastinian policeman killed a jewish worshipper there. israel called it a terror attack. other sites include rachel's

tomb in bethlehem where abraham, isaac, jacob, and their wives are buried. >> they would be willing to swap this biblical heritage for peace. >> if god for bid we uproot ourselves, there will never be peace. these jews don't feel any connection, let's wipe them out of the country altogether if we are not in jerusalem, hebram, we won't be in tell tel aviv. >> i think god's plan and purposes was that israel would allow the stranger to dwell here, but he is giving this inheritance to israel. he is giving it to israel to be the steward of this land.

been difficult to share the gospel with people in japan. people avoid religions that makes specific claims like christianity. most japanese worship millions of gods. japanese non christians are learning to think there is only 1 true god. >> movie sister act made it popular in japan. 11 years ago, they saw a fad to teach the japanese about jesus christ. they began holding worship in centers. opening doors for developing relationships between the non christian choir members and members of the church. >> we see lives transformed within the 2-hour session. they are not learning how to

sing black gospel music. they are experiencing church because there is fellowship, worship, there is sharing of the word. >> the gospel ministry broke down barriers between christians and non christians. it opened the church and the target of the outreach are the choir members themselves. >> it maybe a slow process, the members testified the black gospel workshops are making them better persons and some convert to christianity. >> i used to have low self-esteem. i studied philosophy and did my rituals but nothing worked. within 1 year in the choir, i learned about jesus when i studied the lyrics of the songs. now i am a christian. i am more patient with children and more confident about myself. >> i am not a christian.

but as i study the words of the songs, i am finding new meaning in my life. >> today there is a black gospel choir in 50 churches all over japan. they call themselves the hallelujah gospel family. twice a year they come together in a concert where they share the message of christ through the gospel music they sing. >> 100 percent of the people who step into these choirs are being touched by the spirit of god. god is at work in a mighty, mighty way in japan. >> lucille talusan cbn news, tokyo. >> did you know that? >> i did. they love black gospel. it is awesome. that is all for this edition of (speaking in international language) anand he said unto them go ye into all of the world
