the rear. a u.s. supreme court spokeswoman just confirmed that ruth bader ginsberg was on the flight. she was not injured. passengers were evacuated on emergency slides. one woman tweeted this picture and several others suffered minor injuries. they are now waiting at an airport lounge when they will get another flight. >> a lawyer for two u.c. berkeley graduates in prison in iran say there bail is being paid. they will be set free in the next few days but last minute roadblocks can still come up. it comes after conflicting reports about a possible deal to release josh fattal and shane bauer. they say they sent a plane to tehran for the men. but hours earlier the judiciary disagreed with the statement

bart spends money to silence critics. the chief spokesman was not in today to explain his move but bart doesn't anticipate any disciplinary action. >> he still has a job in bart and we all make mistakes and we all move forward. >> johnson has been out in a family emergency but he is due back to work on monday. bart board president has been following comments on twitter but he thinks it will be minor hiccup and the story will blow over in a day or so. san jose police are still trying to determine how a convicted felon got his hands on a stockpile of explosives, guns and ammunition that forced the evacuation of an entire block. >> san jose bomb squad blew up a total of 8 explosive devices and evacuated homes on north sixth

street in san jose yesterday. a 63-year-old man is in jail on charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives. they say they also found more than 80 guns and a lost ammunition in his home. they are prohibited from owning any firearms under california law. >> a woman is running for school board seat. 70-year-old a former teacher is on the november ballot for the fairfield school board election. some are concerned because she was arrested in 1998 after taking four girls from a restaurant. >> i made a mistake. i made a committed a crime. i spent my time in jail. i've paid my debt to society. it's not about me, it's about the students and what is going to happen in the future. under a deal with

key government report released blames bp for the worst oil spill in u.s. history. report says bp made poor management decisions with regard to their cement seal that was put in place one day before the explosion in april of zo 2010. it caused more than 200,000 gallons spo spew from an under sea well. it wreaked havoc on the gulf economy. the details are in a final report in a coastguard report. >> californians are not too happy with the president. fewer than half of state voters approve of president obama's performance. it shows that $58% voters, that

is up from 47% that things are seriously off of track and only 40% of californians approve of the way the president is handling the economy. that is down from 61%. >> the president is road pitching his jobs plan. he outlined his $450 billion plan a short time ago before an enthusiastic crowd. the president urged his supporters to send a message to congress to pass a bill. fell them if you want a job, pass this. if you construction workers back on the work site, pass the bill. 'f you wanted teachers back in classroom, pass the bill. tax cuts for middle families pass the jobs bill. >> he plans to visit a machine company the type he says would

shuttle program has ended. they are moving forward with the new space rocket system. nasa animation shows the rocket that will allow nasa to explore space in the future. multibillion dollar program. it's going to carry astronauts in a capsule on top of the rocket and set to begin six years. it didn't look like animation. we have nice blue skies but low clouds to contend with earlier. >> clouds are slowly moving out of the valleys. from mount contaminate familiar as we look down definitely above 1500 feet. if you like sunshine and warm temperatures, see some of the clouds exiting tiburon and sausalito but plenty around the bay. we take another perspective. you see the clouds definitely still hovering over at&t park where we take on padres at 12:45. we'll have that forecast and a's forecast, oakland taking on the

angels. you can see the clouds are being very stubborn around the bay. san francisco and now pulling out of the valleys around santa rosa. west wind in fairfield, 20 miles an hour. that is know when you have a stout sea breeze that is bringing in these cooler conditions. mid to upper 50s around half moon bay and oakland. a lot of on 60s until you get to concord and antioch, low to mid-70s there. salinas very socked in with clouds, low 60s. gilroy at 69. so let's talk about the highlights and how the cooler breeze today and more clouds will drop our temperatures, we'll be about 35-10 degrees cooler. more drizzle tonight and in to tomorrow morning, warmer afternoons but we need to get r temperatures until then.

24-hour temperature change, everybody going down 3 fremont. san francisco, 4. san jose, 5. concord, 7. santa rosa, 9 degrees cooler. area of low pressure bringing the funnel clouds and all the severe weather down to our south yesterday. that is quiet and moving away and having less influence on our weather. this area of cold is out ahead of it. we have the sea breeze and when it rolls in it will reinforce the cooler weather. gulf of alaska will send down cooler air masses. mid-60s richmond, berkeley to upper 50s to low 70 fierce the rest of the east bayshore. down in the south bay, low to mid-70s except at campbell and los gatos, upper 70s. up to the peninsula, temperatures will run 66 in millbrae to 72 in palo alto.

and we'll make one more stop around downtown south san francisco, mid 60s and upper 50s no matter where you are around the coast. mid to upper 70s in north bay valleys. heading to the game, mid-60s, if you are going at the one at&t, low 60s and we'll see sunshine late in the day. temperatures will drop 2-6 degrees friday before a slow warming trend takes over for the weekend. richmond city council has voted to wait until december to decide whether to cancel the contract with the city's sewage plant operator. contra costa times reports residents urged them to cancel the contract. they said they are tired of smelling foul worse. >> a bay area environmental group is out with the list of hot spots in the bay area. they say the bay chopping the list is guadalupe river is

filled with garbage and a creek in san carlos. damon creek and mission creek and baxter creek in richmond. they are urging everyone to reduce their trash and turn out for this saturday's coastal cleanup day. >> port officials are warning pet lovers about a scam that claims to find homes for lonely animals from overseas. they send unsolicited e-mails. the victim gets another e-mail from the airport's so call pet department saying that the pet is being detained at the airport until the pet owner pays for vaccinations but then they find out pet never existed. they say its scam and if you receive such an e-mail. contact your local police department. >> walmart is launching a new initiative that will help women

santa cruz county has one of the stiffest paper and plastic bag laws in the state. supervisors voted in favor of an ordinance that bans free plastic bags and levy advice at ten cent bag on paper. restaurants owners would be allowed one bag to go. >> and at 4:00 and 5:00.... >> it's much easier. >> so what is he is talking about. an adult sand box. laid off construction workers something else to do in las vegas and moms taking on the fight against poverty and putting a party on for total
