san francisco protesters from justin herman plaza to the former phoenix continuation high school on mission near 15th. >> i think that is just talk now. i don't know all the details. i would have to wait to see whether agencies of the city have been talking with them about ideas. that's why i can't respond. >> reporter: the article says public works director took a group of occupy san francisco representative on a tour of the site last weekend. some of the protesters at the justin herman plaza encampment towed us they are not interested in a new camp in a low profile area. >> no, that wouldn't work that is more or less a parking lot. mobile homes and we could do that here. >> it is overrun with people and the community that go out and steal from other people they sell it there on the corner. we don't need thieves like that around our encampment. >> reporter: not only do protester not want to move some in the mission don't want them here. >> in this area, no different

from what i see everyday just people laying in the streets. they might as well be in one area. >> reporter: there will be talks this afternoon about a long term plan for the occupy san francisco protesters and mayor hopeful. >> there are some leaders that are thinking about their long term and whether or not -- i think there is some -- i wouldn't say agreement, there is some regular that everybody is challenged by the conditions at justin herman plaza. >> reporter: a meeting this afternoon, mayor lee and city officials trying to come up with an alternative to justin herman plaza as the mayor just said it is not sustainable. terry mcsweeney, abc7 news. oakland is once again unoccupied after the latest tent city was taken down overnight. occupy oakland took over the lot on the corner of 18th and linden monday night. occupiers insisted they were there with the property owner's support. yesterday the owner called

police and asked them to remove protesters. police moved in and ordered them to leave 9:00 last night. both sides say there was no confrontation, no arrests and no citations. in san jose city leaders warning there could be life-threatening delays in response time for police and firefighters unless there are immediate budget concessions. the san jose mercury news reports that city officials are warning unless the city workers are willing to modify their pension program, firefighters and police officers would have to be laid off that would lead to response times. every city library and community center would have to close. there will be no more city recreation centers. also, no money to repair roads. the dire predictions were released as city leaders make their case for he clairing a fiscal emergency and cutting back pensions without negotiating. a vote is expected in the next two weeks. latest snapshot of the u.s. economy shows the number of people applying for

unemployment benefits went up last week after two months of steady declines. labor department says weekly unemployment applications increased by 2,000 last week the second increase in six weeks despite that the four week average fell to its lowest since april. experts say that is a sign companies are laying off fewer workers. that is not the case for nokia the number two mobile technology company is slashing 17,000 jobs worldwide by 2013, nearly 23% of is workforce. it has offices in san francisco and sunnyvale but hasn't said whether those offices will be affected. the company says restructuring will make it more flexible and efficient. millions expected to travel over thanksgiving. according to aaa even thoughs go and air fare prices are higher, 90% expected to dive. snow and freezing rain are affecting -- some of the east

mehserle and four other bart officers ever accused of violating an oakland man's constitutional rights and injuring him during a confrontation in november of 2008. the alleged incidentcm66ñ occurd several weeks before the shooting death of bart passenger oscar grant. a jury convicted mehserle of involuntary manslaugher in that case. funeral services has been set for a vallejo police officer. the memorial for identify jim capoot will be held 11 a.m. next wednesday, november 30th. he had strong ties to vallejo high where he coached. the officer was shot to death last thursday while chasing suspected bank robber on foot the suspect is now facing first degree murder charges he is 37-year-old henry albert smith of fairfield. he could face the death penalty traffic engineer not recommending new stop signs at an east palo alto intersection where a little girl was kill.

the city commissioned the study to determine the best way to improve pedestrian safety after the 6-year-old was fatally hit by a car in september. it happened at bay road and gloria way. the study's author is recommending school crossing signs, pavement markings and parking restrictions, not any stop signs. residents signed petitions asking for a stop sign. the council picks up the issue at next tuesday's meeting. take a look at these pictures. wait until you hear how it started and ended for the pilot. by the way, he is okay. something a little extra in your can of soup that you may not want a important health0ñ

this is unbelievable video. a helicopter pilot in new zealand was helping install a christmas tree when the blades got stuck and cables that scaffolding. the pilot was tossed halfway out of the chopper. he's walking away. it is unbelievable. he was able to walk away from the scene said to be doing fine construction workers on the ground also not injured. danville father whose two children were killed by a drunk driver high on pain kill pushing for a to tax prescription drugs the driver serving 30 years to life for second degree murder.

california secretary of state has given the get for robert pack to gather signatures. his 10-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter were killed in 2003. the measure would impose a quarter cent per pill tax to fund the state's drug tracking system. harvard study says eating canned food day may raise levels of -- bpa. researchers gave -- they saw a 1200% increase. bpa is found in many canned foods a by product of chemicals used to prevent corrosion. medical experts were surprised by the results. >> high doses of bpa are linked to cancer, heart disease, early puberty. big step from large animal doses to what is harmful in people. >> a 2008 study linked people with higher bpa levels in their you are troeupb hey higher risk of developing heart disease and diabetes.
