say they were able to shutdown the morning shift this is the early shift of protesters. this group marched from the west oakland bart station to the port before the sun came up. even though the mayor of oakland and some union leaders asked them not to do this. >> we are starting at 5:30, i'm excited. the power of the people is inspirational. >> reporter: the group split once it hit the port around appear ed two entrances used by trucks trying to get the -- goods to the ships. >> corporation have to deliver their goods and it has to be transported into california. by saying no, you can't give that here because we don't want corporate greed we want our jobs back. >> i'm going to lose three, four hundred dollars today. >> reporter: truck drivers say they are hurt the most. oakland's mayor and some union leaders asked the protesters to consider the wages these

divers would lose. the activists say the -- drivers will benefit from the cause. >> one day, it is rough. but they can take this one day. ultimately we want them to know we are doing in for them they are full of crap because they are not making a truck payment. me and him we all go truck payments we are losing money. >> reporter: at 8:45 the protest might be coming to an end. police in riot gear moved in and formed a line between protesters and the front gate. after a few minutes a handful of officers went throughout the gate while the rest of the police pulled back. protesters say they consider the morning a success and look forward to the action planned for later today. >> at 3:00 i wouldn't be surprised if there is 8 or 9,000 people here. >> reporter: you can see trucks sitting here not moving there are police officers at the entrance of the port no

activity in and out. protesters say that's because there are not any workers on the inside to unload the trucks because they say they shutdown the shift. they are calling this a success. they say they will be back to shutdown the night shift. i was a peaceful morning no one was hurt and -- it was a peaceful morning no one was hurt and no arrests were made. >> katie marzullo continues our coverage at office of emergency services. >> reporter: we expect an update coming soon. in the meantime this is where they are holed up being briefed on what to do out there. until we get that next briefing word here officially is, there was never any port shutdown. >> there are disruptions throughout the maritime area hurting workers and working families and slowing operations but we are operational. >> reporter: slow operations would seem better than no operations but time is money for truck drivers.

followed by another march to the port. additional march at 5 p.m. from the west oakland bart station to the port. in southern california occupy l.a. protesters have ended a four hour demonstration at the port of long beach. police made one arrest as 200 gathered near a shipping terminal. demonstrators briefly blocked a major roadway, but caused no major disruptions port of long beach is the nation's second busiest behind the port of -- police arrested 39 protesters during the demonstration on campus november 9th. that same clash led the charge as police used excessive force on peaceful demonstrators. today a group called by any means necessary call on cal chancellor to drop all charges filed against protesters after the melee. >> the criminal charges are being used to chill the free

case may have changed his story for the grand jury. assistant coach mike mcqueary told the grand jury he saw sandusky raping a 10 year polled boy in a school shower in 2002. now a local paper says a friend spoke to him on the night of the alleged incident and mcqueary said he never saw sandusky have sex with the boy. u.s. supreme court has decided to take up arizona's controversial law targeting illegal immigrants. they will review a ruling that blocked several provisions one requires police to question immigration status if stopped for something else and suspect they may be in the country illegally. the obama administration has challenged the arizona law arguing regulating immigration is the job of the federal government not individual states. there morning president obama acknowledged the iraq war sending but warned other nations not to interfere with iraq's
