conventional and unconventional way to prevent destruction of property and preserve life. >> reporter: a spokesman for the city attorney's office says he will look into the possibility of stay away orders and how large of an area can be included. aclu says stay way overs would present constitutional concerns because it refrains speech before it is uttered. protesters said police were to the blame. saying they didn't give them enough time to disperse before they started using tear gas >> if they would have left us alone it wouldn't be -- there wouldn't be as much as it is now. >> reporter: the chief says, officers operated within city policy. he hopes the city can do something to prevent what happened saturday, from happening again. >> we can't let 1,000 people tear the city up and not do anything about it. >> reporter: mayor was not available for comment this morning. the city attorney says he has not received any order from

of oakland. investigators found the body of 19-year-old henry leon saturday afternoon. he is suspected of fatally stabbing a 15-year-old girl at her family's home on pacific avenue friday night. leon is the father of the teenage girl's nine-month-old baby. investigators believe his death was suicide. a memorial growing outside an oakland home where police say a 15-year-old boy killed his parents. investigators state teen has confessed. susan and robert worked for san francisco's health department. police were called to check on them when they didn't show up for work friday. officers spoke to the son who told them everything was fine. when they returned later, they found the bodies in the family car and then arrested the son. san francisco's police chief and city attorney taking a drastic and unusual step this morning hoping to reverse a worsening drug and crime problem in one neighborhood.

katie marzullo is in the tender loin. going after two specific businesses, why? -- >> reporter: the police chief and the city attorney held a news conference here at the corner of leavenworth and turk where one of the businesses is located. they let us know after two years of undercover operations by the police department the city attorney's office was able to file these lawsuits again the two businesses. basically the investigation shows that they are host businesses for illegal activities. drug sales and fencing of stolen goods. the chief and attorney say this step was needed in order to make the tenderloin a better place. >> 99% of those businesses refused and/or threatened to call the police for even being asked to participate in what these two businesses were doing wholesale everyday.
