>> announcer: right now breaking news. caltrans workers inspecting the richmond san rafael bridge after a truck fire shut it down temporarily. that is the truck you are seeing now. good morning i'm cheryl jennings. and i'm kristen sze. laura anthony is live near the bridge. any lanes still closed? >> reporter: there is one lane still closed eastbound direction where the fire occurred after 10:00 this morning. we are standing on the richmond side you are looking across to the richmond san rafael bridge as we speak, one lane on the eastbound side is open. this fire happened in the middle section after 10:00

this morning it sent plumes of smoke high into the sky you could see it from miles around the bay area. they have reopened one lane in the eastbound direction for a time there were two lanes closed in all directions but they were able to reopen it quickly. we can show you live pictures from the area you can see traffic backed up into marin county, even though one lane is open, they are still assessing the damage. caltrans is going to inspect the bridge to check for any damage to the structure itself. obviously, they are not too concerned because they have opened one lane at this point this was a tractor trailer rig. i was caring wine -- it was caring wine, there was a fire the big rig was on fire, no injuries, no other cars involved. it is more of a story about the back-up on the bridge and the traffic we'll have updates later today.

laura anthony, abc7 news. the search is going to resume today for the weapon used in the mass shooting monday at oikos university in oakland. investigators believe the 43-year-old suspect one goh tossed the gun into an oakland waterway. katie marzullo has new information on the intended target of the gunman. >> reporter: i was able to get clarification from the oakland police department about the intended target. take a look at this video, ellen cervellon is not the target never was the police chief did not identify her as such she did identify herself she believed she was the target. the real target was another female administrator who actually no longer works at university and in fact has not worked there for several months. she is not going to be identified by the police department for her safety.

this does not change the fact that cervellon admits she a conflict with one goh about a tuition refund that's one possible motive. plus he says he was teased by other students at the school. the investigation continues as does the search for the murder weapon. dive teams have been scouring the oakland estuary where we are. they had to call it quits early yesterday because of the currents. the police tell me those search efforts will resume today. they don't kno when. we've been out here, we haven't seen them yet this morning. the tips to search the water did not come from the suspect i'm told he's not being at all cooperative on that friend. crews are working tirelessly not only for the weapon but also back at the school that's aarge crime scene it involves inside the school and some outdoor space. they do not plan on being able to reopen the school any time soon. one goh was charged formally
