labor department released the march jobs report this morning. that shows the unemployment rate dipped to 8.2% from february. it also says employers added just 120,000 jobs last month. down from the more than 200,000 jobs the economy added in each of the previous three months. that means the unemployment rate is likely -- dip is likely due to a high number of americans who have stopped looking for work. >> president obama addressed women and the economy in a forum at the white house today. he told participants that the nation's economic problems won't truly be solved until the glass ceiling is shattered and women are recognized as a driving force in the economy. he said this is a personal matter for him. >> the president: i group the son of a single mom who struggled to put herself through school and make ends meet. had to rely on food stamps at one point to get us by. >> the president's focus on

suspended sheriff ross mere was in court this morning for a routine status update. >> it is what happened after that brought tears to his eyes as he was asked about an op-ed piece his wife wrote. >> sergio quintana live at the hall of 'tis. >> reporter: this should have been a run of the mill event it took the -- took the judge less than amin to acknowledge that ross mirkarimi is attending -- all the classes he's required to as part of his plea. except the hearing coincided with an op-ed published by his wife eliana lopez. in responding to that op-ed mirkarimi got a bit emotional.

" mirkarimi said he read the letter last night. >> you have to try to appreciate this, i haven't had contact with my wife in nearly three months. >> reporter: lopez penned the piece from venezuela where she is visiting family with their son theo. along with giving her support to her husband, she blasts everyone linked to this legal and political battle. and makes special mention of her san francisco neighbor, ivory madison. i sought legal advice from ivory madison about custody issues i did not seek her help as a friend. ivory madison promised our
