>> announcer: right now breaking news. right now oakland police are going door-to-door looking for a home invasion suspect after stain off at an east oakland house. good morning i'm cheryl jennings. and i'm kristen sze. laura anthony is live at the scene. >> reporter: this area as you can see is cordoned off. police cars all around this area from surrounding the blocks here the incident started 9:30 this morning at 2700 block of richie street, a home after a call from someone about a domestic dispute. they quickly figured out this was a person wanted for a home invasion robbery that occurred. from sky 7 hd, this was just a short time ago police were going door-to-door and through

the yards around this home on the 2700 block of richie. they are still trying to determine whether the suspect is inside the house or whether he may have been able to get out of the house before police cordoned off the area. police are doing their due diligence trying to make sure that he is not outside this area and they are still not certain at this point whether he might be inside the area. again, suspect in his early 20s, wearing black t-shirt, light blew jeans african-american male wanted for -- blue jeans african-american male wanted for home robbery that occurred before this morning. i just got off the phone with the police they are uncertain whether he is still in the neighborhood. they are taking every precaution to make sure tha he is not in the area or if he is back inside that house at this point we are showing you down the street this is hillside you can see a fire truck towards this area

perhaps as a precaution or unrelated, not sure. at this point the blocks are cordoned off as police try to make sure the suspect is no longer in the area and not a threat to anyone in the public. laura anthony, abc7 news. happening right now in san jose, investigation is underway in the deadly shooting of a teenager. the city's 15th homicide victim of the year. police found the 18-year-old with a gunshot wound near story road last night he died at the hospital this morning. a second man was found beaten at the scene he's expected to recover. san mateo police are questioning the story of a man who jumped off a highway 92 overpass in morning he landed 30 feet into a swampy bog in foster city, called 911 one then was hauled up by the fire department he claims he was carjacked and jumped to get away from his attackers. police found his car a few yards away. they are now checking it for

evidence. san mateo county judge made a ruling this morning in an unusual case. parents suing a highzáh> school district for kicking their son out of an honors class because he cheated. terry mcsweeney is live at sequoia high with the ruling and reaction. >> reporter: the superior court judge has ruled in favor of the high school and the district and again the 17-year-old who admits he -- cheated with three weeks to go in the school year, this story pretty much is over. there's very little time for an appeal here specifically the judge said he would not grant an immediate injunction to get that student back in that advanced english class. take a look at the document the boy and his mother signed. it says he's not going to cheat then he copied another student's homework. his father, also an attorney, khraeuld the expulsion would impact his son's academic future. the judge said he cheated.

there is no denial of education. and that student has no right to be in advanced english. and if this case went to trial, the father and student would probably lose. we got reaction from sequoia students. >> it is kind of true, if you are caught cheating, you should be kicked out of the class. shouldn't fake how smart you are. >> if he cheated in advance classes and knowing the school's policy on cheating, i guess the school is right and wrong at the same time. i don't get why the parents would sue the school when it is their kid who cheated. >> reporter: the father did receive a number of harsh calls from parents upset about a couple of things number one about the cheating and also about tying up school district attorneys and costing litigation at a time when no district is rolling in cash. the father went ahead and sued the sequoia high, the school district, the superintendent
